Eh, was kind of neat, but I don't think it qualifies to be called that when they're manually intervening in the process multiple times.

It looked like all the interventions were intentionally added for "preciousness," highlighting how small everything is. I think it could have run fine by itself if they so chose.
Perhaps, but their intrusion by definition prevents it from being a proper Rube Goldberg machine.

I am aware that ad issues are driving some into the arms of ad blockers, and when malware enters the picture that is a sensible way to protect yourself. We never have worked out a subscription system here, so one thing that some have proposed that may be worthy of consideration would be to start a Patreon account to allow readers who are using adblockers a way to support the site if they want to.

How much are you getting off the Amazon links, Blue? Is it any kind of decent scratch, or did my $500 PS4 plus games purchase get you like 5 cents? (edit, sorry, nin already asked that.)

I will keep buying all my Amazon stuff through your link, but if you want to go the Patreon route, that's certainly understandable.

I'd be interested to know the answer to this too. I try to remember to use the Blues link when buying from Amazon, but often when I want something from Amazon I simply type in the link since "am" is usually all it takes for the browser to resolve to their site. And usually when the thought comes of "I'll order that from Amazon" Blues and gaming isn't normally something I'm thinking about.

Have any of you had cataract surgery? I recently had the surgery performed on my right eye. I can see much clearer now, but there is a side-effect. At night, when it's completely dark, I can see double lights - two layers of moon, double street lights, etc. Is this a normal condition or did something get botched?
Hmm, my mother had the surgery many years ago. What you are saying has a ring of familiarity, but I am not certain. Obviously the best thing to do is ask -- possibly even someone other than the surgeon.

Fuck me, not this "The healing power of poop / piss" bullshit again.

A friend of mine got told by her doctor a year ago to "start drinking a cup of your own urine each day."

I hope she immediately stopped visiting that doctor.
That was exactly my immediate thought -- I'd never see that doctor again. Except maybe in the grocery store, where I would point at him/her and laugh out loud.

On the Pateron thing, I think it's a good idea. From what I've heard about what websites get from each ad or ad click, one $5 a month Patreon commitment would be equivalent of hundreds ads, if not more....

Yeah, Blue. The only reason I saw him at the beginning was because of the title. And because I did see him immediately, I was fearful the video would show his lights come on and him pull out and drive away. Thankfully that didn't happen.

I'm sorry, which new funeral are we talking about? Or did you mean one personal to you? Personally, I decided a long time ago I was done with funerals. Immediate family and my own are all that's left for me.

I just generally take my foot off the gas and let my Jeep slow down. Sometimes way down. They usually get the hint.
My father used to do this -- once, on a two lane highway he slowed down to 20 mph and the clown still wouldn't pass him (the road was straight and there was no other traffic). Rarely do I drive anywhere without out seeing at least one person doing something idiotic. The percentage of terrible drivers is way too high, makes me recall one of my favorite sayings:

"The only reason some people are still alive, is because it is against the law to kill them."

Nevermind. I am a freaking idiot. The exit point appears when you click on a start point. I figured there was something I needed to do to get the exit points to appear, and there was, I needed to click on a start point. *face palm*

1. Off-topic random question Mar 14, 2016, 10:05 Mr. Tact

Was hoping someone could either point me to a proper forum to ask this question, or answer it:

I've been playing "The Witness" and while I have solved enough puzzle to light eight lasers, the puzzle on top of the mountain still does not have the "exits" on it. Hence I can't solve it. Any idea what causes the exits to show up?

It wasn't hard to find an extensive walk through but I didn't really want to read one -- just want to know which puzzles I need to solve to cause the exits on the mountain top puzzle to appear...

It is just stupid to subject ourselves to it every year. If we want DST, set it and forget it. When I was working with UK based people it was worse. The schedules don't match, so four changes a year.

Make it whatever you want. Stop changing it.

Molten Salt + Water: The slow motion shot is pretty cool.

Peyton: Generally gets less credit than he deserves. Yeah, his playoff record isn't great, but Indianapolis was a nothing franchise before Peyton got there.

Additional topic: Lovie Smith hired as football coach of University of Illinois.

Wow. Didn't see that coming. I live in Urbana-Champaign and hence am a default fan. But there hasn't been much to cheer in Illinois football for a LONG time. Here's to hoping Lovie can turn it around. It won't be an easy task.
