Ah hah! First we had to debunk the superhero curse myth, now the FF tanking myth!

The first FF sold over 400k units. I'm not sure why everybody thinks it did badly. If FFv3R doesn't perform, IG continues in it's business in the traditional dev pub space until it raises the revenue to try again. If it succeeds, we expand the model to do not only more Freedom Force, but more hard core and strategy games with a AAA treatment that traditional pubs might overlook or think not mass market enough.

We'll have to wait and see!

And in terms of the EA marketing juggernaut...Well, we'll just have to see if independent AAA games can make it without the backing a giant publisher...

Thanks for the nice words...yes folks who order directly from us (ordering should be up next week at www.freedomfans.com) will get bonus stuff you won't find anywhere else...

I also wanted to let everybody here at Blues know that we are planning on a patch for Freedom Force 1 for XP service pack 2 shortly after the release of Freedom Force vs The 3rd Reich...

Hey Guys-

Wish I could take credit for things I didn't do, but BioForge came out before I even got in the industry. My resume of shipped or soon to be shipped titles is limited to Thief, Shock 2, Freedom Force, Tribes: Vengeance, SWAT 4, and Freedom Force vs. The 3rd Reich...

and in my view the game that started this genre was Ultima Underworld, conceived by true Game Gods like Doug Church and Paul Neurath.

Beaner-Well, I can't promise everything, but how's this for a start:

To activate the console modify the program short cut to read: “<install path>\tv_CD_DVD.exe” - console

"2. yawn Sep 8, 16:21 Gimpz0r

when is World of Warcraft out again?"

Would it be impolitic to me to reveal I've been playing the World of Warcraft beta all weekend and that it rocks? And I don't do MMORPG.

Seriously, bring on the noise, guys. I meant it when I said Tribes was about the community. All comments (even ones aimed directly at my head) are good.

We're giving as much news as the PR guys will let us. We started work on the game about a year and a half ago, and it's really coming along great. If you're a SWAT 3 fan (or like tactical shooters in general) you'll dig it. For those of who don't know SWAT, it was the first tactical shooter and has a focus on SWAT procedure and command, with rewards for using non-lethals. Of course, you can win the game by being pretty damn lethal (so long as no hostages get it), but the team spent a ton of time researching and training with actual SWAT guys. And it's really, really beautiful, if I do say so myself (as a guy who had zero to do with how good looking it is).

Look for some very major previews soon.

We actually have 3 dev teams: Tribes, SWAT and Freedom Force vs The Third Reich...We're all grown up now!

Guys, Ken Levine here...

Clear a few things up:

Though I worked on Thief (story and original game concept) and was lead design and story guy on System Shock 2, I had zip to do with Underworld and Shock 1, except for playing them ravenously when they came out.

Also, as far as I know, Warren externally produced Shock 1, Doug Church and Paul Neurath (with help from some other really smart guys like Dorian Hart, Greg LoPiccolo, Mark LeBlanc, Tim Stellmach, Rob Fermier, Robb Waters, and others) really conceived the title and were with it through it's whole production.

Credit where credit is due (and in my case, no credit where it ain't!)
