I've had to wear glasses/contacts for the past 13 or so years. I found glasses to get dirty and need cleaning too often, and they just annoyed me for the most part. I switched to contacts eventually, and while they were significantly better than glasses for me (and you get a greater field of vision as well), contacts can be a pain. You had to clean them, soak them, and then fool with sticking them in your eyes every morning. Eventually they came out with cleaning solution that required no rubbing... you just put the solution in your contact case and let the lenses sit for a few hours and that was it.
To get to the point, not having tried any form of eye surgery, the best thing I've found so far are day & night contacts (I wear Focus Day & Nights). You put them in and leave them in for 30 days. You don't clean them, you don't mess with them, they just stay in your eyes for a full month. I've also found them to be significantly more comfortable than regular contacts, to the point where I forget I'm wearing them until it's time to change to a new pair. Additionally, my optometrist said the day & night contacts are made of a different material that lets much more oxygen get to the eye than regular contacts do, which is better for your eyes. I should note it took me a week or so for my eyes to get used to the new contacts when I switched from standard ones, during which time it felt like I had something in my eye (yes, I realize I DID have something in my eye, but at least for me contacts are normally unnoticable).
