The story says Take-Two acquired Vicarious Visions, which is a typo (Activision acquired them last week). Take-Two acquired Visual Concepts, as the story title says.

I guess they want to stimulate the mod/mapping community, and it's about time, but yeah, why not open the contest to the wierdos across the pond?

I can understand excluding Quebec, I mean they're all freaks, but France??? Come on..

I don't follow gaming message boards, because, at its best, entertainment is going to be a subjective thing that can't win for everyone, while at worst, a particular game just becomes a random symbol for petty tribal behavior.

well!.....a little HAUGHTY there aren't we John??

Whatever, you know he's absolutely right.

I knew there was a reason I didn't read the comments on Blues..

It's too bad, this site is so full of great news, it's too bad the readers are so juvenile and/or elitist..

Umm... The UT2k3 demo just came out. Like it or not, it's huge right now, and will get all the press and coverage.

This is like putting out a movie the same week as Star Wars..

For two points, can anyone explain WHY the Wolfenstein flamethrower looks like a better version of the Kingpin one?

Anyone? Anyone?

I've been following the development of this game for almost a year now, and I'd been really looking forward to seeing that footage...

And I'm not that impressed. It's bumpered with ads, and it seems they tried too hard to make it a "game trailer" instead of a video showing off the engine and game appearance.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still excited for this game and I can't wait to see more of it, but how much can I appreciate a bunch of quick cuts of people running in the open where I don't even have time to examine what I'm seeing or make out any cool details?

Hopefully future footage they release will be better.

The site is called GamaSutra I believe, although a search of their site doesn't reveal a post-mortem article about Homeworld..

If anyone has the link, I'd like to read this myself as well..

Yeah I meant a "new" PoP, as in "newer than the last one that came out".

They need to do a new Prince of Persia game with a realistic physics engine so we can jump and leap around the palace at will..

While this is obviously an amateur production (not that I claim to be able to do any better), I have to say that the one thing about this movie that really struck me as exceptional was the camera work.

It's probably not something most people notice on first viewing, but the cinematography (using that word a little loosely) is excellent, and it really added to the visual appeal of the movie.

For something that was produced on spare time, sweat and dedication, it's definitely a nice piece of work.
