All I heard the first time was that it was an exclusive train wreck... The trailer's not really doing it for me either, and it's already 'mixed' on Steam. I hope they can turn it around, but it looks pretty damn rough right now.
Maybe the decap version can change it around who knows.
Reading reviews, looks like the original Rune fans don't like the direction the game went, and that's unlikely to be changed.
I've gone and read through many of those so called negative reviews, and found the complaints to be not warranted in most of them.
The ones that got me were the ones were they are bitching about the graphics not looking like the screenshots. I'm scratching my head on this one. I have everything turned up to cinematic mode and the graphics look identical. I think this is more their systems and not knowing how to setup their pcs and the settings.
The combat has been reworked and feels much more like the ordinal Runes combat system. so again, I don't get there these complaints are coming from. I played the original Rune 2 when it released, and I can tell you now without a doubt that the game has come a very long way and has a really nice opening intro and has 20 time more content then it did. The devs have worked very hard on this new edition and it shows.
So I wouldn't take those reviews very serious. Many of them are nitpicking and complaining over things that I don't see in the game right now. Yes the game does still need some work and does have some rough edges, but those will be fixed over timer with some patching. RTX is not fully implemented into the game yet, this is till in beta and is only in one dungeon currently. and you have to run the game with this switch to get it to work. -dx12
This is also from the devs on what they are working on now.
- Combat Tuning and Improvement
- Address Current Bugs, COOP/Multiplayer key focus
- PVP tuning and improvement's
- New Dungeon and New Enemy
- DM Arenas/Maps
- More Gear
- Community Feedback and Bugs
- maybe we'll try to pull off a PVP Dungeon?
- Controller Support
- Steam Achievements
But for me, I have been having a lot of fun playing the game.
