36 hours of play, not a single crash, running at Ultra, smooth as butter. I feel for the folks having issues but I'm loving it. So excited it came to PC.

Same experience for me too, everything on Ultra 4K 32 in monitor. I'm 14 hours in. Not one issue at all. I really wonder what type of hardware some of these people have thats causing them issues. Cheap stuff? or just bad luck in general on their part. I know several other people I play games with that are also not having any issues. I know some of the issues these people are having are legit. I've been lucky enough to not have any.

Its the stuttering that others are complying about that has me wondering. I'm running my game on an Samsung M.2 3500 Mbps
I'm really starting to wonder if their issues are not because of a Physical Hard Drive possible 5400K or even a 7200K drive. At any rate, putting this game on a regular hard drive would be crazy.

Dont even take Digital Foundry review as good, they are a bunch of idiots. That review was bad. Way to many inconsistencies in their review and the mistakes they made. Makes them look like total idiots.

The unlock was pretty fast on my SSD (under 10 mins) vs the hour or more with death stranding on my spinning drive.
Some people said it was single threaded, but it's not, I checked and the decrypting process took up all my cores (16 if you count my HT).
It's a bit annoying and I don't understand why it's required in this game and almost no others, but there's a 5-10 min texture optimization kinda routine it has to run first startup.

Also, I'm curious to know other people's results in the in game benchmark (under settings, graphics). See if my experience is an outlier.

On my geforce 2080 graphics card with latest drivers (451.67) specifically for horizon zero dawn, 32gb ram, nvme SSD samsung 970 pro 1tb, and i9-9900 running the built in benchmark it's pretty dang choppy at 1080p and ultra settings. Min FPS is only 16, although it says average is 57. And I can replicate that with only running 30 seconds of the benchmark.

OK, ran the Benchmark, here are my results.

I have a i9-9900K 3.6 Ghz, 32 Gb Corsair Vengeance Ram, Samsung EVO Pro 2TB M.2 3500 Mbps With an EVGA RTX 2080 Super FTW on a Z390 Aorus Ultra MB.

I'm running all of this on an Acer Predator 32 Inch 4K Monitor running at 3840 x 2160 at Ultra Settings in game

I got a score of 8718 Average FPS 52 Max of 103 Min 38 Custom Preset.

Display Mode Borderless,V-Sync on,

I haven't had any in game issues at all with stuttering or any crashes so far.
Gotta say, this game looks gorgeous, and the story has been pretty good. Combat is fun, and the world looks enormous.

I think a few more patches and a newer Video driver update will be conning soon that will only help make the game better and perform better.

So far, I cant complain, the game is everything I hoped it would be and much more.

No stuttering, and no crashes after a few hours o game f play. So far, the game and story have been great and the graphics in this game are really incredible looking. Some of the beast I have seen in a game in a while.
Have you tried the in game benchmark in the options menu?
Maybe I'm an outlier, who knows.

I'm also enjoying the game and story and great graphics.

no, Only the initial one that setup the system that took about 5 mins.

The unlock is definately pegging all 8 cores of my intel CPU, it's not single threaded currently as rumors were. Although I had to change the crappy default win 10 view to see all my 16 logical HT ones.
Plus on my NVME SSD it's taking under 10 mins to unlock.
Didn’t Windows 7 also default to one graph for all CPUs versus one graph per cpu?
Could be, I don't recall, it's been so long lol

Digital Foundry covered it and the port is a train wreck, very disappointing.

DF, is a joke. Did you even watch their review? The morons reviewed the game with a 4K TV, then on top of that the idiots figured out they had the GPU clocking at 8X when it should be at 16X. What a fucking joke that review is. They lost all credibility once I saw all that crap.

If they are messing around with the hardware and forgetting about the clocking speeds, what other bullshit have they messed with and forgotten?. No that review was utter trash, for starters why are they even messing with the hardware settings? they should have restarted the entire review on a clean system. No way I'm taking that review serious.

Shouldn't that have been about 5 years ago ,,-- you know- back in the planning stages ...?

WOW ! Chris Roberts might want to give these guys a call and get them onboard his merry, little wagon too.

No Steve, they have known for a long time about the loot and have been re-working it for a while now. they are just reiterating about the loot.

Give them credit, at least they are re-working the entire game to make it better. They could have said fucking it and left the game as it is. They deserve credit for at least fixing the game and making it better.

Roberts is nothing more then a two bit low life scamming con-artist. The guy is taking everyone for a ride into the void of hell, All he is is talk, talk, talk. Shows very little for what they are doing and keeps feature creeping the fuck out of the game which has delayed it more times then you can count.

All the fucktard had to do, was stick to the plan, release the space flight portion of the game, then build on that by implementing the ground combat. But no, this guy cant get his head out of his ass for two seconds to see just how hes ruined his image, the game and any possible future ventures that anyone with a brain would even back him.

Hes a low life POS, why anyone keep giving this asshole money is beyond any logical reasoning.

I personally think people need to shut up and temper their bullshit and just be glad there are games still being made that can be played. I'm like some of you, the older I have gotten the less tolerant I have become about people and their obsessive whining bullshit over stuff thats not overly important and stop nitpicking.

This looks great, but somebody was saying on bluesnews (I think?) that it's basically a reskinned Company of Heroes, in terms of gameplay mechanics.

It is. played the demo and it was utter trash. The AI sucks, you get caught on objects in the world. you have these gigantic walking mechs that cant get over certain types of objects or even walk over a ravine. Plus the Mechs would clutter up in a big pile when you moved them to a way pount to attack units or a building. The game was so disappointing. I love RTS games and this was high on my list, but its went to the bargain basement sale after that demo.

I definitely worry Epic game store will go out of business MUCH MORE than Steam.

It’s interesting. For Valve, Steam is the endless stream of revenue that drives the rest of their business. It’s also allowed them to make enough mistakes that would have shut down most other companies. Or forced them into a buyout.

For Epic, it’s Fortnite and that revenue won’t last forever. So the clock is ticking for them to take enough of Steam’s market share to generate a sustainable profit.

I really wonder what the conversion rate of a game that was exclusive on EGS, and people who bought it there actually moved over to Steam once it became available. I'm betting a lot! And I know a few people who have done exactly that!

I know what the argument here could be, that they already got their slice of the pie from the sale, but the real problem is, they cant maintain that slice of the pie if you keep loosing out to Steam, the preferred platform.

Played this at E3 two years ago, and I was not impressed at all with this game. Hated to be more accurate. The combat was lame, and there was no ship-board combat.

Honestly, if you want way better and much more fun ship combat, play Assassins Creed Odyssey. It was ten times better.

Coop, yes. I'm really hoping they didn't leave it out, that was the best fun I had playing these games was with a friend.

OK, I did a little digging, UBI has the game already up for pre-order. here are some details that I know some of you want to know about Coop. This is straight from their page.

Release date: February 18, 2021
Genre: Shooter, Open World, FPS, Co-op, Multiplayer
Single player: Yes

So, Yep, I'm a happy camper. This is now high on my want list.
