For me, this is absolutely useless without significant new content.

Same here, this is nothing more then another pitch and sell.

Its mind boggling that they dont expand the game or add more content to explore. just lame as hell from what used to be a great company. all they care about now is match making and overwatch.

So since he's the game designer, was he in charge of lies about micro-transactions, absurd amount of pay to win bullshit?

Or is GTFO the new 'gold standard' of how they will respond to their customers?

LOL, I'm wondering when hes going to drop the bomb on everyone after they buy into the game that there will be pay to win transactions.

These guys defiantly set a bad president on their rep with that lying ass bullshit they pulled on the community.

The problem with snipers in shooters is it encourages camping. No one wants to venture out only to get picked off. It's boring.

You do realize this game does not have PVP? Some time down the road, yes it will. But this discussion is about the core games PVE.

I don't see why everyone is already complaining about the cloaking enemies in this - considering what kind of tech we got in Future Soldier after all. Sure, that was a "near future" style world, but we aren't that far away from that technology being usable in the field. Plus, its a game after all

People whine, just to whine. There is nothing wrong with the Cloaked Snipers, in fact they add a new element to the game that makes you think before rushing in.

Played for about 2 hours last night and we had a pretty good time. the new enemies and the newer AI difficultly is pretty challenging.

Glad to see they hit this milestone... And for those that have yet to get it, it's currently at 50% off on Humble Store (12.49 USD).

As a fan of all three recent major ARPGs (D3, PoE, GD), I appreciate what each brings to the table/genre...

And I'm looking forward to the expansion... Which I hope/expect has new content along with the two new classes, and I'm eager to check out each (though also worried they'll be badly balanced initially, making later nerfs/buffs more painful).

I could never understand this balancing bullshit in PvE games with no PvP. Blizzard likes to go on about it in Diablo3, it's total bullshit. Either a class works or it doesnt. Talk about buffs and nerfs in PvE games with increasing difficulty curves is just fluff for poorly designed games.

That was the primary reason I left D3. The constant re-shuffling of the classes, one patch this toon is the uber class, the next patch this toon is. And on top of that making all current gear obsolete in the prcoess. I just got so sick and tied of that bullshit.

The fact is and Blizz fails to understand it or they just dont give a damn, is that all classes should be balanced the same, one class should never be doing millions of damg per crit hit where as another toon cant and is mostly being setup as a support toon.

Blizz turned D3 into a fricking MMO wanna be. its a fricking disgrace to the franchise how they lobotomized this once beloved game.

This game is so much better and a far superior game to Bilbo 3.

The settings and the environments are so much better looking and unique. unlike Bilbo 3s where they rehash the shit out or each area and dungeon setting.

Plus the story is better too and looks 10 times better.

Arthur is a really nice guy and actually listens to what the community has to say.

During the early Alpha of the game, I was the one who actually suggested to him that they add the move button to the game and he added it. I really appreciated that. one of the best features ever for these types of games.

IDK, I really don't care for the camera angles I'm seeing. plus it looks like its going to be hard to play and a bit to dark.

Plus did you notice in the clip the fireballs targeting the player did not miss him at all even though he was trying to doge it? That to me doesn't bode well for the game play if the AI seems always spot on.

Played it for a bit, and yes its similar to RUSE, which I liked a lot. but really couldn't stand WarGame.

So, I'm really on the fence with this game. I really cant stand games that try to use a supplies as a resource to keep your units going. it just drags the game down and deters you from the true experience of the game.

Id rather these guys stick to making RTS games like AOW and AOA

Those are really fun games, but the devs gave up on AOA for this game which was really disappointing. Plus they never released any map tools so that pretty much killed AOA.

The developer previously did this game, so I would expect something similar but using the license (it actually fits the setting quite well). That game was not terrible, here's my video review of Star Hammer.

I really hope they dont use that game play type. that just sucks to no end. I'm hoping its going to be more like Sins and real time.

Brynjolf wrote on May 16, 2017, 12:56:
So I've been playing the Surge for another 7h since last night (11 total) and i still stand by my first impression: It's good.

It certainly is no Dark Souls but that's not neccessarily a bad thing in this case, and I am a huge Souls fan, probably around 2k hours on Demons Souls to Dark Souls 3, including Bloodborne.

It is slightly friendlier to the player, having an option to pause combat and with the proficiencies that will keep levelling up, no matter if you die or not.

But to answer your question, there are a lot of things I don't like about LOTF not limited only to:
Slow reacting character, animations too long, exaggerated heaviness, mushy camera controls, weird animations in cutscenes, just to name a few that spring to mind right away.

And yesterday I installed it again (with 65min played previously) and tried to keep an open mind, not even expecting a game of the quality of the Souls series and just seeing is as a 3rd person action rpg.

Still couldn't do it. ANd my biggest problem about games like this is that with a handful of tweaks it could have been good (cutscenes and voice acting excluded ofc.), and it makes me quite sad thinking of the time, money, creativity and passion people invested in a game of this size.

This is all a very personal opinon ofc and as mentioned based on only about an hour of playtime, wjhich for core mechanics is enough tho.

Is the game all Melee? or are there ranged type weapons? Not really into stickily melee type games.

The DLC has been crap so far. There is suppose to be a pvp mode (which I look forward to), but they really need to add a King of the Hill/H1Z1/Player Unknown mod to keep this game from being stale.

And way better helicopter controls.

Didn't much care for the add on either, but I am looking forward to this one. it sounds pretty kewl having to try and survive.

So, how does MP ruin the game for you? If your friend doesn't show up and you cant get him on line with you, you move on and play without him. There are several save spots you know, so you can like have multiple games going at once if you want to. Please dont blame MP for your own short falls. Thats not the games fault, thats yours and your friends fault.

I didn't say it was the game's fault for having MP. All I said was the MP ruined it for me, there's a difference. As I already explained, it ruined my experience because after playing through part of it twice in MP, I was burned out and I not interest in doing it again.

What is the games fault is having the RPS mini-game in SP where it doesn't belong which ruins the whole point of role playing two characters by not letting me decide which one gets to win an argument.

Come on now MeanJim, how do you get burned out playing the game only twice in parts?

I've gone though the game several times with a few friends. I had a great time each play though. What you should have done was just moved on with that save game without your friend, if hes unreliable, then tell him you going on without him.

Its what I would have done!!

MeanJim wrote on May 10, 2017, 00:45:
The MP looks cool, but I'm not interested in it at all. I think I'm going to avoid it completely until I finish a solo run.

The MP ruined the first D:OS for me. I started out playing it with a friend, but our schedules changed and we never got around to finishing it. During the Kickstarter, I couldn't find a home for an extra beta key, so I activated it on my niece's Steam account. That extra beta key was supposed to expire at release, but it didn't so she got upgraded to the full game when it released. We started playing it together, but it was frustrating to play with her. She kept getting distracted wanting to wander off, break into houses and pretty much ignore the quests. She eventually lost interest leaving me with another unfinished game.

I did try to play through it once, but I didn't like the rock, paper, scissors mini-game being in single-player when your two characters had an argument. It makes sense in multi-player though. Usually we'd try to talk it out and if we came to an agreement we'd let one or the other win, otherwise we played the mini-game to decide the outcome. It ruined the role-playing in single-player because I don't get to decided which of my two characters wins the argument and instead the game takes over one character and makes me play RPS against it. I brought this up on their forums during the beta/early access period and a lot of people agreed with me, but the official response was to save scum it until I got the outcome I wanted.

Between the RPS mini-game in SP and the two failed attempts at playing it multi-player, I lost interest in playing it by myself. I still backed D:OS2 though. I thought eventually I would get around to playing and finishing D:OS on my own by D:OS2's release, but I don't know if that will happen because it keeps falling farther down my backlog list.

So, how does MP ruin the game for you? If your friend doesn't show up and you cant get him on line with you, you move on and play without him. At this point, Valve should just commission someone to do HL3 as a graphic novel and be done with it.

Funny, watch and see if Telltale Games doesn't somehow get the rights to do a Half Life game.
