I'm waiting the release of LFS development stage 2 (S2) as eagerly as the 2nd TrackMania add-on and TM Sunrise.

LFS is a work in progress racing simulator, with superb online gameplay, that's going to be released in 3 stages. S1 has been out for quite some time now and is still rocking like a mofo even though it does not have tyre wear, fuel usage, pitstops, etc.. The sim is just so enjoyable to drive and the community is amongst the best out there, for any game... and the developers are communicating with them all the time. Pretty unusual and totally awesome relationship there.

I recommend every simhead to try out the LFS S1 demo if you still haven't done so: http://lfs.racesimcentral.com

More info about LFS S2 features here: http://lfs.racesimcentral.com/content/s2info.php

Yes. TM supports most wheels and pads. Some racers use a wheel/pad and are extremely fast.

...and that was not even an Alpha of DOOM 3. That was only a very early DOOM 3 engine technology demonstration for the E3.

It's amazing how many people actually believe that there's an alpha/beta leak on the net...

Well, I e-mailed the reviewer yesterday about those 2 things I noticed but he only changed the bit about the add-on pack. Good job

Rally does not have twists and loops.

There are fan-made downloadable car skins and also team skin packs (with all the car skins of teams that have registered for the leagues). There's also downloadable environment mods like cartoon etc..

Few odd bits about the review...

1.
The game is sadly missing loops, twists, and more “extreme” pieces...

There are loops, twists etc.. even the screenshots on the review show that. Loops are showing in the cover picture

2.
Maybe with any luck they will offer a downloadable expansion pack for a small price.

Hmmm... judging by the box pic, he reviewed the original TM and does not know about the free Power Up! add-on pack? But then again there are pics that show the add-on blocks, weird...

The Power Up! version is published in USA by Enlight, btw.

I'm more and more impressed by Richard Burns Rally. The footage certainly is mighty fine and looks almost totally like you're watching a TV broadcast of a rally event. Now, release the demo, please, for the final judgement

HoSpanky,

I never said anything about TM not being a true racing game. You just happened to read my comment wrong. That's just human, everyone makes mistakes. No harm done. GG

Interesting...

You know, I've played TrackMania practically every day ever since the "trackmaniademobeta1" that was leaked in October 2003...

...and I simply love TM.

One thing I have noted in the reviews goes something like:

"TrackMania does not require so much driving skills and is not a racing game but mainly a track building/puzzle game"

Ehhhh... hello!?!?

IMHO, TM is a *true* racing game and is *all about* driving skills. Learning to read the tracks and the environments and thus being faster gives so much pleasure, especially after a particularly well driven round. I'm constantly learning new techniques on how to be faster.

So, saying that TM is a puzzle game shows that you do not really like racing or you're just kinda missing the point of the game.

TrackMania Sunrise, which sees TrackMania going coastal..

I wonder if it is an add-on or a separate new game?

Anyways, I'm simply gobsmacked about this news and actually my heart skipped a few beats when I read this... don't worry, it's beating now, but faster than usual

TrackMania has brought so much needed *FUN* back to PC racing game genre. Thank you NADEO

Giving TrackMania a 62% score is just... I'm speechless. Do not trust that idiotic review. TM is a 90% score game, at least.

I've been following the development of this game for a few years now and it will be exciting to compare Crashday to TrackMania. If Crashday is good then there isn't much room in my mind for any other game than those two. I mean, recently, only Far Cry has managed to take some time off from TrackMania but that was just temporary

It feels kinda weird now. I've been playing TrackMania for about 7 months now, every single day since the first leaked beta demo, and it's only just now been released to worldwide retail.

TM has become the game-you-play-all-the-time for me. Other games come and go but TrackMania stays

Argh!!! Don't tell me I have to learn German now?!?!?

After finishing Gothic & Gothic 2 several times I've been *desperate* for new Gothic content :/

** Gothic is what makes the G in RPG **
