I'm all for LFS. This sim deserves all the love it can get. Development is slow because of only 3 devs but every update they make is great. Every update has some community love in it because of the relationship these devs have with us. I <3 the feel of LFS.

3 thumbs up for Scawen, Vic and Eric. Keep up the good work!

I am honestly surprised this game sold enough units to warrent an add-on.

Maybe you did not play TrackMania enough or it just is not your kind of a game? I must admit that when I first tried the TM BetaDemo1 I was like "argh... another one of these straight to uninstall crappy game demos" but then I decided to give it another go and here we are now, still playing, 14 months later and no end in sight

By the way... Speed Up! is the second free expansion pack for TM.

Oh yeah. Been testing and playing this new version. Simply love the new blocks and features. The net code seems to have improved also.

Why NADEO still calls this an alpha is a mystery because v1.35 sure feels like a late beta to me

Look at it this way, Gothic 2 was the game that Richard Garriot would have made Ultima 9 had EA not have been involved. It is the spiritual successor to that series.

That's a good point and very true.

Gothic III will have mouse based inventory:

By the way... here's the first video of G3 (ShakyCamâ„¢). The new scavenger looks great! Love the animation, the model and the shadowing.

Gothic III is easily the number one game on my most wanted games list. Has been for quite a while. Even Half-Life 2 was on the second spot.

I first got to know Gothic by playing the english demo in 2001. I was simply blow away by it. Then I bought the english version of Gothic as soon as it was released and found out that it was the best 3rd person action/adventure/RPG game that I had ever played. Then in 2003 the english version of Gothic II was released and it was as good as the original, if not better (can't really say because I love both games so much).

The Gothic games are awesome singleplayer experiences with a good continuing story. Only Outcast can somewhat compete with the Gothic series.

As you can see, TMSU Alpha1 v1.32 has been in open testing for everyone who wants to test it. Next version (Alpha2 v1.33) is due out maybe next week.

You can download TMSU Alpha v1.32 from here
ftp://FTPNadeoAlpha:3456Da9YDe@trackmania.com/

First install TMSU_1.2.5_to_1.3.1_Setup.exe to a different folder than TM then update TMSU with this TMSU_1.3.1_to_1.3.2_Setup.exe...

Those screenshots look very much like the scanned/cammed magazine pics. I highly doubt they are officially released *screenshots*.

From Todd's new .plan...

Demo: our priority was finishing the game first and now we are turning our attention to the demo. I
don't have any information to share regarding any specific content, but I don't believe that we have
ever disappointed in that regard in the past. We will release the demo as soon as it's done, but this
probably won't happen until after the game has arrived on U.S. store shelves.

"The community seems very strong at this early point and should really take off in June."

Well, the TrackMania online community already took off back in 2003 and it's been strenghtening and growing ever since.

"...there are already over 1000 user-created tracks already online."

That "over 1000" tracks part is not true. It's more like over 10,000 tracks total so far when tracks of all the different sites are put together.

The best tracks site (with world records etc.) is TrackMania Exchange http://www.tm-exchange.com, very well done site. Highly recommended.

Btw, nice review. The value score (10) is especially true

Glad to see good reviews of TrackMania. Majority of the reviews I've read give the impression that they have played the game for a couple of days...
