The "Star Wars Prequels are better than you remember" line of thinking has been around for a while now. But they were every bit as stupid as you remember actually. They were utterly awful.
That is exactly right. Just because it turned out that they weren't *as* bad as the most recent sequel trilogy in no way means they weren't still bad. They just lowered the bar.

You nailed it!

I was talking about wishing the SuperBowl was on Saturday nights just the other day. I really don't get why it's on a Sunday evening. We usually don't even stay through entire watch parties, because we need to get home and get settled, get the kid in bed, get US in bed, etc. That wouldn't be the case on a Saturday night.

R.I.P. Cindy Morgan. I'm both relieved and saddened to hear it was natural causes. 69 is too young, but then I don't know what her health was like prior to that. I remember seeing Caddy Shack (comedy classic) as a young adult, years after it originally came out. I've seen it again several times over the years. She was wowza in that flick. Tron was a classic movie as well.

Oh man, I hadn't thought about that game in decades. I played the heck out of it though.

I really hope Creator is good. It's also nice to see Gareth Edwards directing again after Rogue One.

I am definitely all in on the Saturday SuperBowl idea. I was complaining about that to my wife yet again. You'd think employers would put pressure on the NFL too if tons of people take Monday after off. The roads were nearly empty when I drove my kid to school today. The game was pretty good though, which doesn't seem to happen often. Definitely the 2 best teams got to face off.

R.I.P. Dark Sky. Many of us will miss that app. The updated Apple weather is improved, but still not the same.

Texting didn't even start becoming popular in the U.S. until 2000 (couldn't send texts between carriers until '99), and really not mainstream until a few years later (and it was painful with old mobiles), before finally being more popular than phone calls in 2007, though I believe Europe got on board with texting sooner than the U.S. Something technically existing at a certain date doesn't mean much to most of the world in this context. I've been on the internet for over 30 years, but I realize that doesn't mean much to a lot of the population as it wasn't mainstream for a bit after that.

I remember when I saw/played an early preview of NOLF at Monolith. That was mind blowing, but the released NOLF/NOLF2 games ended up being some of my favorite of all time. In fact, I mentioned NOLF in an interview for a gaming related position at CompUSA (remember those?). I recall reading stuff that indicates there is zero chance of a new NOLF (or even making it available online), which is very sad.

I want more co-op like they had in Battlefield V, but I know they can improve on it too.

I remember copying the shareware version of Doom onto floppy disks at my local software rental store that weekend (remember those?). I'm still friends with one of the guys that worked there.

I'm cautiously optimistic about Dune, but that Uncharted movie does not look good.

But it seems that lately Hollywood cant come up with anything original, so they want to recapture all that original spectacle and majesty of the 80s sci-fi... like Terminator, Star Wars, Dune, and so forth and so on with all the reboots... and most of the time they are failing so horribly - (except Dune which Ive heard isnt bad)

Funny, I've read bad things about the new Dune. I hope they are wrong, but I am not overly hopeful.

Maybe we could pool our money together to get the triceratops, and make it a new Bluesnews.com mascot?
