On the other hand, Gothic is still one of the best CRPGs ever made.
Gothic 2 fits more the description, but that is the past. As is the team which made both games. Past tense. Nowadays PB just copies the same old stuff, hoping to produce another game like Gothic 1 or 2 and they fail. Every time. Because no one there has a clue WHY those games were so popular.

This isnt surprising at all. There is enough money to polish the game until eternity, there is no pressure from a publisher/investor. OF COURSE it wont come out any soon

I donated a few bucks years ago for SQ42 and for THAT investment i had much fun playing what is already available. I am not angry, not dissapointed, not sour. When SQ42 is released, i'm pleased. When i inherit my account details to my children, so that may be, one day ... it's fine too. I am suprisingly calm. May be it has something to do with realising that i havent "bought" something, but instead donated something. And i got something back, so ... as said before, fine with me.

I don't understand why they make us pay for a survival mode when there's already free mods that do the same thing and more.
Because console players cannot mod their games? And there are enough PC players who cannot be bothered to fiddle around with mods, who just want to click on a button for new content.

It's heading to monetization for modifications.
It's not. This is not "Paid Mods", it's third party DLC.

I have no problem with modders getting paid for their work, but I do have a problem with Bethesda taking a cut of it for Copyright bullshit reasons.
Modders work for Bethesda. They are not modding the game, after acceptance by Beth they are developing commercial DLC. That is the reason why Beth does not monetize an already existing survival mod, but instead develops its own implementation. Beth is avoiding all the trappings and obstacles, which may come up when monetizing already existing mods.

He's not promoting firearms.
He does, what he does best. Xplaining things and applying logic and science to every day lives. There is a reason i subscribed to his channel

But ... i am not comfortable with his casual stance about firearms. It's cultural. He grew up in a country where firearms are part of the culture, i dont. Nothing more, nothing less. He can do videos about whatever he likes, i simply dont watch them, if the topic does not interest me.

Yeah, well ... no! I'll pass on that video. No, i subscribed his channel, i watch a lot of his videos, he's awesome ... but i cannot get into that fascination for firearms. It's a cultural thing ...

I still can't get over that Carlos Danger, sexting extraordinaire, is named Weiner. Some jokes just write themselves, amirite?
Yes, it was a somewhat hilarious joke when he was in the headlines the first time. I confess, i laughed my ass of when i heard it the first time.

Now its just sad and depressing. Not only the joke, the whole situation.

No need to patch if it's already sold 2 million copies and the community has fixed the issue. /sarc
It isnt very clear, if they SOLD two million units or just SHIPPED two million units. The difference is quite important, because i can ship two million copies and sell only a few dozen

Vampyr Delayd? Well, that is actually a huge problem. If it gets released after dawn...

Finally, thank you ...

A lot of people actually liked Gothic 1, so yeah sorry you are definitely acting like a jerk. It's not an Ed Wood type videogame or something.
No, its not. But i yelled for the first hour, steaming with anger, made actual, literal bitemarks in my keyboard. The interface WAS HORRIBLE!!!!! Yes, you get used to it as humans can get used to very bad things over time. Still, the interface remains horrible to this day.

As for Europeans suddenly kicking the shit out of the US...they've been doing it since Gothic 1.
Obsidian is still going strong, also inXile. And lets not forget Bethesda. I dont like their sandbox games, but they were essential in keeping the RPG genre popular. Whenever someone said, that SP games, that expensive RPGs are dead ... you just had to point at Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3.

definitely. sometimes i think i'm just being nostalgic but when i objectively step back and just look at the titles released from 97 through 2000, it really was just an absolute avalanche of groundbreaking titles, many of which still stand their ground today. i guess it makes sense, it really was the wild west back then, everyone was trying to push forward technology and try new gameplay conventions, whole genres were born. and i guess the publishing scene hadn't yet been monopolized. or i don't know, maybe i am just talking out of my ass, i can't pretend to be impartial.
No, its ok. There is a reason why the 90s are considered to be the Golden Age of Video Gaming. A reason not based on nostalgia, but hard facts. Some of them you already listetd.

I know this might cost me my PC Gamer card but if a feature like this can make my mid-range gaming PC perform better when all I need it for is that particular game AND I can turn it on and off at will, I would be willing to at least give it a go.
If ... and when, probably not enough to be noticable.

I could never really get into Rune when it came out, although I loved the look of it. The platform aspects and huge confusing levels killed it for me. I remember being stuck on the first real level for hours, in the first damn cave.
Dont worry. I drowned ... because i was not thinking in three dimensions. There was a left and a right, an up and a LOT of down. Down is where you had to go. All the way down
