This is their idea of viral marketing?

It's not exactly ilovebees.com.

Is it me, or do many of the women Pat photographed look an awful lot like Transvestites?

The beauty of the Diablo games was they were compulsively addictive and playable. It's going to be a huge challenge to translate any of that gameplay to first person 3D. I hope their game design team, their publisher, and their management have the balls to stick it out until they get it right.

I don't really understand the point of doing this publicity when they are at least a year away from release. Are they scratching for more funding?

Funny, looks like whoever did their concept art is a huge Steve Bissette fan.

>Ian Banks...said he'd kick my head in once.

Wow. You're lucky. No famous authors have ever said they would kick in my head, just angry latin americans on public transport. Oh, and there was that group of very drunk english rugby players on the tube...

There's a web page about culture references in Halo.

>is anything from Halo taken from Ringworld other than the Halos themselves?

Not really. I think the more salient influences come from Ian M. Banks' Culture novels.

Do you think they will just shoot about an hour of footage, and then show it backwards with slightly different CG enemies for the second half?

That would pretty much recreate the Halo gaming experience.

I believe the Steam version of Half-Life 2 Gold includes a t-shirt, coffee mug, book, etc.

That's what the shipping is for.

I'm looking forward to The Bard's Tale; but, wasn't Acclaim publishing it?

If so, it seems like they will be out shopping around for a new publisher...

Anyone have news about that?

>Games like Gish...are fun little diversions which I play a LOT more than Doom

Thanks for the heads up on Gish...Looks cool and even has a demo available for MacOS X and Linux (work platforms!!)

I will buy Doom3 when the price drops to around $20 bucks.

Though, I see idsoftware is still selling Quake for $25. I guess I will be waiting a while...

>Thief 3 and Invisible War...they cut things back, took shortcuts

Seems to me, at some point during the development of DX2, it became apparent that the Ion Storm Studios were going to be closed. Having worked for a failing tech business, I know that is a sucky place to be. Watcing your friends get laid off as they complete their tasks, etc.

I'm not surprised they didn't do their best work.

I do think it is funny that the Thief franchise has "killed" two quality development studios.

With Burr grinders your coffee beans more evenly ground. With choppers, some ends up powder, some ends up kinda big pieces.

Burr grinders are usually able to make a finer grind. This is very important for espresso and turkish coffee. Not so important for drip.

Burr grinders create less heat in the beans when grinding, resulting in less chemical change in the coffee beans. Some people claim this results in better flavor.

Burr grinders cost at least $50-$75 for a cheap one. A perfectly good krups blade grinder costs $20.
