I think when people see the screenshots, they see the more detailed environment, and I think they want the same gameplay as 1942 but with newer weapons technology.

You can go for historical accuracy, and that is fine, but EA's release of Secret Weapons showed that it wasn't necessary to have to have a great game.

I would have loved a flamethrower in this game, and I'm sure that most people would have wanted planes on all levels OR the ability to call in airstrikes that were performed by AI on maps that don't contain planes would be great as that was a cool feature in RTCW and ET gameplay.

OMG, I downloaded these drivers from my videocard makers website 2 weeks ago, and apparently NVidia didn't release them on the official site due to problems with the UT2k4 demo.

My favourite feature of this release is the Win98 style quickres icon in the taskbar, well it's the old NVidia icon with a Quickres function, so now WindowsXP is complete.

jAkUp, Hot Pursuit 2 was the best in the series, unless you were not playing it on a Playstation 2. I own the PC and PS2 version, and the PS2 is great.

HUMP, you like the NFS series except for the Hot Pursuit thing... that is where the bloody series originated! They dropped the cops in the first sequel, and in Porche though.

I think that to believe the "it's only a game" defense of violent games, you really have to think that it's okay to murder in a game because "it's only a game" - in theory you could say the same about a game that would let a gamer play a serial rapist. Both are crimes, and you dont get the death sentence for rape or paedophillia in the real world (afaik).

Honestly though, I did enjoy Vice City for a couple of weeks, but now when I play it I just like to drive around and listen to the radio. It's the only crime simulator I own, and it's probably the last - I don't object to the content myself, but it just doesn't have lasting appeal.

Releasing Manhunt on PC is a dumb idea. That game was banned in New Zealand, so if it's available on PC then kids can download it on Kazaa etc which kind of makes a mockery of the rating it achieves in other countries.

For the record, I think a game that let's you play a convicted murderer, and one that simulates murder, is probably the most irresponsible idea for a game ever. Now a game that let you play the part of Jason Vorhees is a different matter entirely as for one thing he's not really human and he always gets killed in the end.

George didnt need to make the prequels. He made them for the fans. This thread has nothing to do with Star Wars anyway, I have no idea why people keep bringing it up. While we are on the subject I would like to mention that the prequels, so far, are significantly better than the original films but they don't have the nostalgia value which makes people think the originals are better. Truth is, if those originals were released for the first time today, with modern special effects they wouldn't be as well liked or remembered.

I played through the whole unpatched game with no problems at all, so no way I'm gonna download a 25mb patch for a game I have already finished. But isn't that always the case with patches, I mean by the time they come out you have usually finished the bloody games!?

I didnt think that key configuration was necessary to play this game, I did well with the defaults.

I am going to buy Unreal Tournament 2004 through Steam! This is all just smoke and mirrors to hide the fact that they still dont have an effective anti-cheat solution. Why doesn't valve just get off their high horse and adopt CD, which isn't perfect, but is better than VAC FFS.

One other thing I would like to add about realistic physics, is what would be the point when you are either controlling the car with a keyboard, gamepad or crappy plastic steering wheel that doesn't turn all the way round?
