Let's see now, I've decided that I don't identify with my age, so instead I will identify with all ages, which means everyone should be 100% accepting of me hanging out in school playgrounds.

You see where this bullshit is going, right?

Sure, I see where your bullshit is going. You are trying to turn this into a completely inaccurate "slippery slope" argument.

Pedophiles are next in line for "acceptance". Believe it. Look between your fucking legs... that is WHAT YOU ARE. Pretending not to be in your head is a mental illness, period.

Called it. You conjured up a pedophile straw man.

Haven't we all used "they" as a gender-neutral pronoun for centuries?

"I was supposed to meet someone here an hour ago."
a) "Oh, where are they?"
b) "Oh, where is he or she?"

This was the only point I was making. "Where are they" is indeed what most of us say, but it is technically wrong by the rules of grammar, which obnoxiously call for "he" or less commonly "she" in this case.

"I was supposed to meet someone here an hour ago."
c) "Oh, where is he?"

That is the traditional correct usage, and I think it's high time we had a gender neutral pronoun for such situations. "They" gets used for this often, but has never been approved by any semi-official sources, and the headline to that story got my hopes up, but it turned out to be on a different topic.

As for that different topic, I always feel it is easy enough to refer to people the way they prefer. That's just simple respect and doesn't seem that difficult.

Hey Blue, how are your 76'ers doing? How you feeling for your Eagles upcoming season? Guess you're going to be eating a lot of Philly cheesesteaks this yeah, huh?

Yeah... I'll try the cheese steak thing at least, but not after you talk about the possibility of rooting for the Eagles, since that makes me throw up in my mouth.

Uh, how is that bad for consumers?

I wasn't saying it was bad for consumers. Just saying that we've had to suffer with counterfeit items on Amazon (and other places) for years, so labeling the move this way makes me feel like they don't consider it a problem for me if I'm fooled, it's just a problem for their other sellers.

"Amazon to expand counterfeit removal program to protect their valued customers" is a headline that would sit better with me.

I haven't seen it, and I doubt it's any good, but Casino Royale had in fact been done before. Plus, there was the Woody Allen parody film.

I've seen the Americanized version. It's as bad as it sounds. Want a laugh? Read up on the Woody Allen movie some time... Peter Sellers apparently wanted it to be a real James Bond movie starring him, and went full twat during production. Makes sense when you see how little sense the movie makes (even for a screwball comedy).

This is the Youtube generation. Every guy with at least a single working brain cell would have guessed that the train will turn that train station into a blizzard hotspot, but nooooo - for the video this guy and that stupid girl before him just stood there waiting for shit to happen. I am still waiting for the selfie of some idiot whose parachute did not open the moment he hits ground, smiling happyily because he knows this foto will get a billion likes.

Message to those guys: Darwin called - YOU ARE OUT!

It's not just the weather. Compared to Southern Californians, the people there seem a lot more stressed out, pushy, in your face, and take themselves far too seriously. I regularly visited Manhattan Upper East Side many years ago. I prefer our laid-back California beach culture that we have here. You too may realize that distinctive cultural difference and wish to return.

I can't see where you'd get the impression that New Yorkers are any of the things you describe. The epitome of polite behavior in the city is leaving other people alone and minding your own business, and unless confronted, that's most of them act. Not to presume, but describing people as "taking themselves far too seriously" (and all those other things for that matter) sounds like someone who wasn't respecting boundaries (perhaps by being too laid back?).

Can you see if you can email nin? He didn't set up the ability to email him through his user id. He's been gone for quite a while now...

I contacted him and was relieved to find out he's okay at least... he says he's taking a break, which is hopefully temporary.

Have you signed on with a realtor yet? Probably best to have already started looking... Don't want to get there and find out your dream house sold the week before...

It's going to easily be another month before our house is ready to go on the market. The good news is we are going from a seller's to a buyer's market, so that should make things easier once the time comes, but we aren't really at the time yet.

Anyone willing to part with a first-round draft-pick for Phil Jackson and Carmelo Anthony? Oh well, no harm in asking.

Anyone willing to part with a hot dog and a beer for James Dolan and the entire Madison Square Garden front office? Nope, didn't think so either...

OMG, I would pack in so many draft picks to sweeten the trade for another owner.

But aren't you then rewarding that behavior through inaction?

No, you combat trolls through inaction. You empower them by getting worked up and reacting.

Haha, looked up "Pennsyltucky" on wiki -- that is a large area...

Here's the classic description of PA: "Philadelphia in the east, Pittsburgh in the west and Alabama in the middle." It looks like a more acceptable term for this is "the T," from the shape of the remaining area outside those two cities.

Hey Blue, how's the Gunnar-man like this sort of snowfall?

He likes the snow fine, and doesn't seem to suffer the cold that badly. He is sensitive to the salt on the roads, so he's been wearing booties on our walks lately. But with them he's good to go. The only thing is he is willing to eat filthy snow off the curb, so I have to keep tabs on that while we walk.
