I got a galaxy s6 (granted, not the latest and greatest) for free through work, and have been extremely happy with it. Happy enough, that if it broke tomorrow (dropage, etc), I'd buy another one on the spot. It's fast, seems to have no problems with multiple things open, and "just works".

How's the battery life?

spaceorb was actually a released product though wasn't it? can't speak to its quality, but better than being scammy vaporware.

Fair enough... I was just trying to echo the era. -- Guess it would have been better to say I spit my drink on my OLED Optimus keyboard (although those were released as well).

The guys behind the unproven "infinite detail" rendering tech released a new video, showcasing work theyre doing towards making hologram gaming centers and new ways to bring real world laser-mapped environments into VR:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4uYkbXlgUCw

They also have started work on getting animation working. It's rather telling that it's shown by itself and not in a voxel environment, so again I'm skeptical by their claims, but I must admit that I would very much like to visit one of their gaming centers.

I wonder if it'll run on the BitBoys GPU in my Phantom gaming console.

That made me laugh so hard I dropped my SpaceOrb 360.

Haven't seen it yet, myself.

From everything that's been said, I wouldn't bother...

Sad, since it's such a powerful comic. Though damn is it ever dark. I wouldn't have been that focused on this were it not for my recent experience with The Dark Knight Returns. I already made the commitment to the animated version of Year One and am looking forward to that. But yeah, this one sounds like a skip.

I'm interested in reading reviews about StarVR

The reason this is just a tech bit is because it doesn't seem like these are aimed at us until they start appearing in VR theaters or arcades of some sort:

The realization of the most premium VR experience ever offered isnít just our dream, but one of an entire ecosystem that encompasses hardware makers, videogame developers, theater companies, filmmakers and many others.Ē

edit: Looking on steam now...I hope you got Missing Link previously, as I don't see it available separately now, either.

Yes, that's listed in my DLC.

I just finished the DC version a few days ago. It did hitch now and again but never during action or anything important so I just scratched it down to crappy optimization and didn't think of it again.

Okay, I misspoke, I do not have the Director's Cut. My copy doesn't actually say it is, I think I assumed it was because it came bundled with DLC. But my installation date is 7/15/13 (just checked, yup, Steam Summer Sale) and the Director's Cut came out in October 2013.

Seems like this is good news. As has been pointed out, the Director's Cut is apparently forked off at an older version. It has problems the original game doesn't, so it actually could have been even worse for me.

There is no need for a curved screen monitor for gaming monitors of this size. its a gimmick that servers no purpose to allow you to see the game any better. I've looked at them and I personally cant see any reason for them.

Here's a counterpoint: When using two monitors, almost everyone skews them a bit to have the outside edges be a little closer to them (myself included). If this mirrors what everyone naturally does with that much screen real estate, maybe it's for a reason.

Was that spam? Damn, I received an alert that this topic was updated and was thinking that finally BN offered a new look working on all platform.

Yeah, one of those generic replies with a signature to spam a site URL.

What about my idea of using WordPress?

The possibility of using a generic CMS for a mobile site is not out of the question. But this carries a lot of complications, and will probably require me finding a resource to trust to help with this beyond Frans, as he probably won't have the bandwidth to help make this happen.

There is a fledgling effort to look at the CSS here and make the site's default display look better on smartphones, as well, but all of this is fits and starts.

Basically, we have a couple of decades of spaghetti code here, and it is more than a little daunting trying to find a way out of this box.

This painting can't possibly meet my expectations, at this point.

Haha. If there is a real demand I'll post a picture (I can probably find it listed online). It's a very wide (three panels) painting of some chickens and geese. So no, there's no way for it to live up to anything. I actually like it a lot though.

The weird thing is it may be more of a thing than it seems. We paid $100 for a 30 year-old painting. The artist is still alive and her new work all sells for thousands of dollars. I think the auction was too obscure for anyone to notice.

There are these devices called "cell phones." Quite magical, really. They allow you to communicate with other human beings across 1000s of miles at the touch of a few buttons. Most even support video chat even, so you can confirm with others the exact piece of art one is buying for someone else. Do these not exist in the land of New Jersey? Perhaps the fat ruler of said land has throttled their sale, for spite? As he did the bridge traffic into New York for several days once.

Cell phones, huh? I'll have to check into those. In this case we used this preceding technology called a conversation.

Dude from work: I'm going to the auction place. I can pick up your painting for you.

MrsBlue: No thanks, I think we're picking it up ourselves. If I change my mind I'll let you know.

Opps, what happened, are G2A links not allowed, I've seen other post them in the past?

I've tried to avoid linking that place for some time. Some may disagree, but they seem to be facilitating a pretty dark gray market that's not good for the game industry. I'm open to other points of view on this, but that's why I deleted those posts.
