When it comes down to it, they don't care about deaths, they're going to do what costs the them the least amount of money in the long run. Car manufacturers have been caught in the past ignoring safety defects they discovered in a vehicle because an accountant figured it would be cheaper to settle a few wrongful death claims than recall and fix thousands of cars.

Narrator: A new car built by my company leaves somewhere traveling at 60 mph. The rear differential locks up. The car crashes and burns with everyone trapped inside. Now, should we initiate a recall? Take the number of vehicles in the field, A, multiply by the probable rate of failure, B, multiply by the average out-of-court settlement, C. A times B times C equals X. If X is less than the cost of a recall, we don't do one.

Business woman on plane: Are there a lot of these kinds of accidents?

Narrator: You wouldn't believe.

Business woman on plane: Which car company do you work for?

Narrator: A major one.

That dude has some serious suspension of disbelief going on.

True. Did not see a lot of disbelief being suspended by the other people in the arcade though.

At a minimum, they need to disclose who they are, which they're only doing now after being caught...

I guess I shouldn't be surprised, as I'm sure it happens everywhere...

Whenever I see something with 100% approval based on something like three positive reviews, I assume it's the creator/author and their parents all approving. On some level it's cheesy, but it really doesn't seem that unexpected.

I totally get that too. If they were not playing the Mets, I would have 100% been rooting for the Cubbies.

Oh relax - he was just poking fun at his blanket statement.

It was no different from the many other posts making the same claim from either side. nin even followed it up making the exact same counter post. But he is Blues butt buddy, so I wouldn't expect Blue to comment on that post.

I actually like my Battlenet app, but I own all of their games and expansions. My only complaint is that the app doesn't include Warcraft 3 on it.

Yeah or Diablo 2 + LoD or Starcraft + Broodwar. It's a little annoying that they haven't included their classic back catalog for simple one click install. A silly omission really.

Can't you get a simple one-click install just by providing your CD key? I'm almost positive that's how I added Diablo II.

My father had a colonoscopy earlier this year, they name dropped Gatorade more than a few times in the prep instructions to avoid dehydration. Really anything heavy with electrolytes, I just found it strange they kept mentioning Gatorade.

Gatorade.

(and good luck)

Thanks. This is where my over-sharing pays off, as that's a good tip... a buddy actually mentioned it too, so I just picked some up (the store was all out of Brawndo). The straw tip from earlier in the thread is a good one too, as is the advice to chill it, but I had that already, as the nurse suggested I pour it over ice to make it cooler.

As for timing, it's actually late morning. The good news is this will allow me to make an update here if I'm capable. The bad news is it increases the possibility the day will be a complete wipe-out for me if I react to everything badly. I'm hoping for the best, but this is all uncharted territory, so we'll have to see.

I hate to complain because I do love this site but you really need to curate your "Play" section games a little better. You usually post repeats about twice a week, sometimes three times but the ones for today are both repeats. I understand it isn't most peoples reason for stopping here but I enjoy reading the headlines and then playing a few games when I have a couple of minutes free at home.

You make a fair point. I will try to do better.

I just hope blue stops with the click bait sensationalist re-posting of this crap and moves on. Chances are low as i'm sure this gets him good ad revenue.

If you deem "Star Citizen Star Cast Revealed" as clickbait then I can only assume you feel the only way to cover this game fairly is by ignoring it entirely.

the ONLY thing wrong with utley's slide was that it was late. everything else about it was typical takeout slide.

Isn't that the only thing that has to be wrong with it? (Not that it was.)

It's like saying the ONLY thing wrong with a beanball was its location, everything else about it was a typical pitch.

So yeah, no online multiplayer yet. Actually the game feels like Rock Band 4: Early Access Edition.

That made sound harsh, but there's a good chunk of missing things. I'm content with what I got, but then I'm a huge Rock Band whore. Apparently a good amount will be coming in patches over the next few months, but damn.

Yeah, it just all has such a shoestring feel to it that I decided I want to wait for this to become the game I want before buying it, rather than taking it on faith.

That said, I may yet cave... I can feel the possibility within myself even as I write these words.

Blue as a member of media, if you don't mind sharing, what do you think about Escapist's decision as it pertains to journalism and freedom of the press?

I think it's important for journalists to be as accurate as possible and to stand tall against such legal threats when they have followed proper protocols. Presuming they have satisfied the first part, the second part naturally follows.

I also think CIG has gone full-on Streisand effect here with the legal threats, but I guess a developer's perspective on that would be more relevant.
