what engine will this game use? Unreal engine like RvS or their own in-house one?

Are they trying to capture or highlight the relationship between the soldiers in this game or something? I'll be quite impressed if they manage to pull this off. We're still at the stage where we only want 2 things from teammates AI:

1. Don't get in my line of fire.
2. Don't die on me.

I hope Gearbox doesn't pull some stupid shit like simply making them meat shields for me. Yes I appreciate them taking bullets for me, but then again I want them to survive a bit longer so I don't have to do the entire mission by myself.

2nd shot is impressive, yes. However, check out the stone wall in the 3rd shot. Bad is an understatement.

Yes, the 1st Thief had crappy graphics but still ended up as a great game. That's why I'm hoping that IS continues such trend. Gameplay first, as always.

You gotta love those low res textures. IS, you better have some real kickass gameplay up your sleeves, because the texture work certainly isn't impressive at all.

AFAIK, it should be pronounced as like 'eyelid.'

Ideas of the deep? Is that what it stands for?

Surely they could've taken the time to include quick-save. I mean, that was the biggest complaint of the demo. I guess they really want to meet the deadline?

I'm willing to wait until they put in quick-save. Oh well, too late. Does it really take that much time to work it out (I don't know much about programming)?

Creston, it's true that in Deus Ex it doesn't REALLY matter until all the way to the very end, but it sort of gives the players more freedom. You don't really get the entire picture until Area51, and if they track all your choices before then...I don't know, I want to change my decision at will.

They said "Trust no one" in Deus Ex. Well, they shouldn't trust me either. I gave a lot of ppl a slap in the face several times in DX:IW by going along with one side but pulling away at the critical moment. It's quite fun.

I have as much trust in BB's date as I have in their ability to handle my UT2k4 SE pre order.

Those incompetent bastards...now I have to get it from ebay. All my local BBs are out of stock.

Hm, Scree, isn't the NDA (is that what you call it?) in effect? Then again, Blizzard is quite open about this beta test, so perhaps they don't really care.

Put the 200 bucks on the games. They'll last you much longer than the hooker. Guaranteed.

What's hard to swallow is the fact that they're using the declining market as the excuse. For God's sake, that's why the market needs games like this. The reason they're giving is bullshit anyway. LA knows they have a winner here, just like Monkey Island.

I would've been cool with the cancellation if they had said something like "The game is not shaping up to our expectation." That's what they did with Full Throttle 2, and that's perfectly fine. Honestly, if you have a winner on your hand, what are you afraid of? Afraid that it'll sell badly?

I think they're cancelling it for the exact same reason as that of FT2. The game is bad enough in its current state that they don't have any confidence of it getting decent sales. YET they blame it on the market.

Add another FU to your list from another fan of yours, LA.

After that Tomb Raider thread, I figure that any mentioning of his name will create a heated argument, so there.

I still think he deserves it too (definitely deserves one if Thief 3 comes out and doesn't turn out like DX:IW). It's not like you need a perfect record to get inducted.

Some games don't need sequels. They're so brilliant that there's no way the sequel will ever live up to the expectation. Deus Ex was one of them. Grim Fandango is another one of them.

If they ever make a sequel to Grim, I will hulk smash the LEC office to bits. This game DOES NOT need a sequel. They ended the story perfectly. Any attempt at continuing the plot will be seen as stupid and lame.

Thing is, there's something about DS that made me stop playing it after a week or so, whereas I stuck with Diablo2 for more than 2 years. It was probably the items and the stats they carry (not enough magical stats). I just wasn't as thrilled whenever I picked up rares in DS. Plus there were no uniques (no, grenade launchers + miniguns don't count). Spells are a pain in the ass to cast as there are no hot keys to bind for each spell. I also don't like the xp level system they use, but I can't really tell why.

Yes, the graphics are nice, but in the end, this is one game I regret putting down the $47 for.
