2004 making up for the crappy games released in 2003: priceless<<----

Just picked up Ninja Gaiden, next week Twin snakes, then the following week BF:Vietnam and Unreal 2004, then the following week FarCry, and Splinter cell, then the following week Resident evil: Outbreak.. Then next month comes the mother of all games : Doom 3.. Does anyone else see this month as to go down in history as the Quality and the quantity on new games ever released in such a short time period. Why are all these major games being released in March and not saving some for fall or holiday season??? Anyways im all hopefull for BF:Vietnam I hope it lives up to 1942. I still think the Battlefield franchise brought new life to multiplayer games, in terms of freedom, and tatics, the game is always a different experience every time you play it and hardly ever gets old I hope Vietnam brings more interesting elements- picking up helicopters and tanks anyways now I wonder when Half-Life 2 will end up shipping with Doom 3 ready to roll?

With Doom 3 ready to ship next month and a going gold announcement any day now, it seems that it all too good to be true??? About the hardware NV 40 set to launch soon is suppose to blow ATI's R420 out of the water (current rumor) Nvidia will ship the NV 40 with 16 Texture pipelines compared to R420's 8. Current hardware ATI owns with image quality, but the rumors are flying high that Nvidia will win the next battle in the graphics card war. So maybe- just maybe- it will be true that a Nvidia card will be the best (ultimate card- u would want to play DOOM 3 with... Time will tell later at this months C-bit.. But ATI is refusing to talk about the R420 this month. Interesting. Still I wonder how good DOOM 3 will actually be- Half-life 2 quality or just an amazing next generation/ tech game?

Errr!! i hope they have a spiffy new game engine to make this thing run on a PS2. Vice city looked good on PS2, But the X-box version looked excellent. I think the PS2 already is showing it's age, time to come out with better hardware SONY. Also lets hope they do something different with the game this time.

I agree 4 + years is a long time to develope a game. But I guess you must realize they are making a new game engine that has taken so long. Doom 3 was a tech demo turned into a game at the same time. Look how long the Quake 3 engine has been around, and it's still used in todays games. When Doom 3 launches it will introduce a wide range of better looking games to come in years.

Maybe there is a Non-disclosure agreement that they had to take down- and perhaps we can expect a going gold official announcement soon. They already have the preorder boxes of DOOM3 at Best Buy. And They did run a DOOM 3 Ad in the best Buy paper this past weekend. I don't think they would spend $ now to a maket a game that would be delayed 6 months from now.

I don't know what to say about the game: okay i will anyway :: Cool graphic engine- massive enviroments but missing something. Cool physics engine-- I too also do not like the 1000 enemies on screen at one time- the game gets too repetive and slows frame rate down to 0... Wish the game was more stragetic and less mindless shooting. What to say about the massive boss at the end of the demo-- besides feeing the need to call my power ranger buddies and morph into gigantic bot to battle that mofo- It just takes a few simple rockets to his hammer... heheh- but it was cool wathing all those pillars come crashing down like legos. Anyway not sure If i will pick it up- I dont know how long I can stand the repetive play... Doom 3 -- Half- Life 2 demo- Please???

FIRST IMPRESSIONS :::
I just finised playing an assault MAP and I was most impressed. They have got rid of the nasty weapon designs of 2K3 and brought back the old weapon skins. Players look and feel like the first Unreal tournament. The game seems to finally have shaken the QUAKE 3 feel. The voices- sounds- music are all retro.. Gone now is that horrid voice announcer of 2k3. WOW!! im going to play some more now-- i think im in heaven.

Unreal 2k3 Had to be one of the worst games I ever played. They took a great game- Unreal Tournament and made it into a Quake 3 style - feel - It just sucked. The maps were way to big and the weapon system felt unbalanced and fast. I just hope this one can redeem the franchise-- crosses fingers..

The advantage of the higher end ATI cards in my experience is the ability to run FSAA and Ansio at much higher levels than the lower cards without as significant frame rate hit. <<<<<<

Thats True- But won't u get more FPS out of it if u have a faster CPU working with a faster Video Card? How much DIfference would I get going from a 9700 Pro to an 9800XT?

No what im saying is-- Half-Life 2 no matter what was stolen will still go on to make millions and millions of dollars. --- From what i heard the game was very imcomplete and would never been able to ship last september in it's state. SUre the sorce code was stolen-- that sucks-- but they should of had tighter security features when developing such high-profile software. I blame valve just as much as the hackers.

It's amazing that our government is spending its money and agents to find out who stole a video game code ::: When he have yet to even catch Osama Bin Laden( man responsibe for the death of thousands of people and human suffering) or other foreign terriorists. Good to know the importand things come first
