Luckily it seems they chose the same route they did for the Robin Hood game. Away with sneaking and body hiding, and in with first person shooting and hundreds of enemies standing around waiting to kill you. I'm sure all the kids like their action games, but I think it's a shame, because the first Desperados game was absolutely brilliant.

I hate this game already, because it's 3D.

Same here. The 2D cartoony graphics is what Worms is (was) all about. I think the 3D conversion sucked.

Didn't anyone learn from Lemmings?

With all the razz scripted events are getting these days, I still prefer one of Call of Dutys's brilliantly scripted sequences (and there are plenty) over a shootout with the intelligent thugs of Far Cry. There are few games that had me as captivated from beginning to end as CoD did. The Stalingrad sequence, for example, or the car chases... pure aurum.

What the hell is "sarcastic"? Is it like rhyming, only without all the vowels?

Well, there are ways of getting at things behind other things other than crapifying the entire game.

Ah, exciting times! Finally someone will attempt to take a series of 2D games that has worked perfectly well and gathered a great following and make them 3d! This will surely be great, as the 2d graphical detail that will be impossible to implement in 3d, or the easy-to-master isometric construction system were never contributing factors to the game's success anyway. Now, though, it'll get great features like high system requirements, a buggy 3d engine, badly textured boxes and cylinders that make roller coaster sounds plus the bonus impossible-to-master-and-totally-unecessary rotating camera. Will the Roller Coaster Tycoon benefit as greatly from the 2d-to-3d transformation as Lemmings, Broken Sword, Simon the Sorcerer or Worms? Only time will tell!

Ah, I likes me some fuzzy shadows. DXIW could've just saved themselves the trouble. Great big sharp shadows look so bad.

Kinda funny if one thinks all games should ultimately end up in 3d, but not really, since Sim City is obviously better off with just two dimensions, while the Sims fits all three of them.

Why bother asking questions like these? They're like straight out of a sales pitch. Does anyone write interesting game interviews anymore?

I'm not so excited about this anymore. They managed to botch the Deus Ex sequel so thoroughly that, considering Thief: Whatever it's Called will be using (pretty much) the same engine, I'm not excited at all.
