To be fair, Twitter announced that the deadline for using basic auth was coming over 4 months ago. They even pushed it back from June 30 to Aug 30 to give devs more time to implement OAuth.

This is not the sort of Blue's News I was hoping for when I logged in just now... I'm sorry for your great loss, Blue, sincerely.

And we can handle any disruptions.

Please explain to me the abuse
Police (or any group) using a 'power' that's been granted to them, just because they CAN, as an excuse to justify what they're doing, is the definition of abuse.

Keep on trollin' pal
Saying something you disagree with does not equal trolling, sorry.

I see zero abuse here.
Of course you don't.

So are you saying he also should tell the IRS that they are crooks? Maybe he should get a stick and go poke at a bear.
Are you saying that cops are unpredictable wild animals that can't control themselves when provoked?

Actually, that sounds pretty accurate.

He was sent there because there was a report of someone in the crowd with a gun
I'm not talking about the police called to respond, they were doing their jobs properly.

The guy with the gun turned out to be a plain clothes police officer, no harm was done
So it's ok for a plainclothes, off-duty cop to jump out of his personal vehicle and start threatening people with arrest for throwing snowballs? You call that "no harm done"?

And yes, the detective WAS raging with his gun out at people throwing snowballs.

My thoughts exactly. The B&W helps one think of simpler times and brings a smile to my face.....such a great and amazing activity in difficult times
A flash snowball fight happened in DC too, except in that case a plainclothes detective thought it would be a good idea to pull a gun and start threatening people with arrest because his personal vehicle got hit. Idiot.

I just saw Slumdog Millionaire today, and I really enjoyed it. I don't even know what else is nominated though, because the Oscars are just Hollywood wanking itself and I really don't care.

Ah, cribbage with my dad, a fine tradition. He actually won today for a change, though!

And on a personal note, was hired a few days ago (thanks to all who helped with Resume info finding) and start training tomorrow!
That's probably the best gift you could have received. Merry xmas to you, HElf!

And everyone else, too. Except Enahs, of course. Screw that guy.

WipeoutHD got a lot better once they patched it to add different difficulty settings in the campaign mode, allowing me to actually move on. Before the patch, it was defaulted/hardcoded to 'Elite' difficulty, and I'm just not that good

I love my PS3 (60gig with hardware backwards-compatibility, Bats), and wouldn't trade it in for anything, but there are times I miss not having a 360 because all my gamer friends have 360s. Makes it tough to do multiplayer or trade games with them. I won't buy a 360, though, because the hardware is typically so unreliable.

Aside from games, of course, PS3 is an awesome media streaming device, and BRD player.

I hate hate hate the driving physics of GTA4. I just restarted it on the weekend now that it has Trophy support on PS3, and forgot how bad the driving pissed me off. I've been spoiled by Burnout Paradise. Give me the driving physics of that game, along with the character controls of MGS4, and GTA4 would be 10x better.

MGS4 for GOTY for me, btw. Sure, the story is convoluted and the cinematics are exhaustive in places, but overall I loved it. I think it may have been the only full game I finished this year.

I think both sides of the Prop 8 debate are douchenozzles. If Cali already has civil unions that afford gay couples the same legal rights and standings as married hetero couples, that's all there should be as far as the government is concerned. Beyond that, getting into the religious aspect of it, is up to the respective churches. eg: if you belong to a church and need their approval to be married, the state should issue the union license.

On the other side of the coin, who cares what other people do with their lives, it doesn't affect you. "I disagree with gays marrying" doesn't cut it, sorry. That's just a more politically correct way of saying "I don't like fags."

I'm paraphrasing here, but in the words of Doug Stanhope... if marriage didn't already exist, would you invent it? "Baby, what we got between us here is so good, we gotta get the GOVERMENT involved, yo!"
