The issue for me is that nobody should be paying nearly full price for a game that most people have already played. Make it 10 bucks, or as I said earlier, 15. Better yet, bundle it with Red Dead 2. At least THAT way you can somewhat justify the 50-dollar price tag.
What I like about these wild-west/cowboy games is that these themes haven't been beaten to death like so many other formats--which I love, btw--have been. There is a lot of fresh originality potential here! But if this game looks and plays just like it did 14 years ago, I agree that no one should buy it! I would have enjoyed seeing the RDR2 engine used exclusively to recreate the original game. Haven't decided on this one, yet!

I haven't played Spec Ops: The Line in years, yet it still haunts me. Anybody who's played the game all the through will know exactly why. This is weird, but as was mentioned, it's most likely due to a licensing issue, especially in terms of music.
It’s one of the few big video game stories with great commentary on the industry itself and that ending…really stays with you. The gameplay itself hasn’t aged well but it doesn’t overstay its welcome.
Prez wrote on Jan 30, 2024, 16:18:Yeah...I only played through it once, and that was all I needed. Decent gameplay, but the story was thematically brutal.
Definitely not the game you want to play if you're just looking for some light-hearted, thoughtless shootbang action.

looks reminiscent of tomb raider.

If you want an extended version that is superior to the original theatrical release: Ridley Scott's Kingdom of Heaven. The extended version is vastly superior, with fleshed out character motivations and a subplot that's actually vital to the story, and it flows better. So, I do like extended versions, but I do prefer the theatrical release.
Good to know and this is usually the case. A couple examples come to mind -
T2 Ultimate - the idiots added a bunch of dumb scenes that ruined the pacing, had Arnold smiling like a clown, etc. Terrible version. Theatrical is perfect which is the version I kept.
TLOTR Extended - added a bunch of silly scenes that weren't even in the books, ridiculous character breaking moments such as Gandalf screaming like a little kid when he saw the Witch King and had his staff broken (!?).
Anyway yea, the original theatrical cuts are often the best.

A "Flaming Yule" is an apt descriptor of what a person will go through after they have one of those. 😄![]()

And you have to load the inventory of all 8 people you see walking around you when you're in town, see? And THAT is why we have to charge you for additional inventory space, to support the massive bandwidth to transmit 25k of data, see?
And before someone comes in and says it's a multiplayer game, no it's not. It's an action RPG that has multiplayer. Diablo 2, Titan Quest, Grim Dawn, etc all had robust multiplayer without being online only.

While I understand remastering 2 and 3, 1 was already remade, and looks significantly better. Or did everyone just... forget that Tomb Raider Legend exists?
If so it was more of a reboot than a straight-up remaster if I remember correctly.
