im a gamer and I agree with the ban.... the game is boring as fuck anyways.... it only appeals to idiots that want to sit in front of the tv and pretend to rampage the city streets.... boring and dull, unless you really want to do those things.... and that even worse

Er... actually, it appeals to me, and I don't like the mindless violence. I play GTA for the missions, and then I shut it off and forget it exists until the next game comes out.

I won't even comment on the NY Post story. Too easy. It's pretty typical of that right-wing nutjob Rupert Murdoch and his worthless rag anyway.

And I thought the article was full of hate. Cool it, man, will you?

Nice Tech, with Onstar, is the Onstar system the same system as the black block system they are puting into cars now? You know where it will upload you speeding and they will send you a ticket thru the mail? You know Big Brother Bush stealing our privacy kinda thing, if so this gives me renewed hope, if it can be disabled, even better if it doesnt have to go in the trash.

OnStar is the remote assistance feature in GM cars: you hit the OnStar button and you can talk to someone who can do anything from remotely unlocking your car doors (useful if you lock your keys inside) to calling emergency medical services if you've gotten into an accident (they detect this automatically, IIRC) or if you request them to.

Oh, and by the way, way to go on managing to blame Bush for an industry decision. Would you also like to blame him for the recent earthquake in Iran--caused perhaps by not signing the Kyoto Protocol? The only way Bush has restricted your freedom is by signing the Campaign Finance Reform Act, aka the Incumbent Protection Act, aka the "Screw Free Speech" Act. Go be angry about that.

"The complaint alleges that Microsoft has pursued a broad course of predatory conduct over a period of years by abusing its monopoly power, resulting in substantial lost revenue and business for RealNetworks."

Does this mean Real will be removing the spyware from all of its products?

that's a concept render, not a screenshot.

I understand that. I'm saying, it's the only one that impresses me. The other two are fairly generic.

That, and I don't quite believe it's a concept--HL2 is a bit too far along to still deal with concept renders. I think the location depicted will be in-game, and the image released is a near-finalized version.

There are NO good games this season!

Buy a console. Problem solved.

HL2 screenshots... the only one that impressed me was the depot. I appreciate how Valve went for a certain War of the Worlds/East Europe look instead of just focusing on pretty graphical effects, since graphics should emphasize environment, but the player models look terrible and suffer from clipping. Will developers ever fix this crap? Long sleeves do not belong in 3D games until they can fix what I like to call "stick elbow."

I'm still looking forward to HL2, but I have to say I'm undrwhelmed.

I was more intrigued by the free expansion news.... how many MMOG's these days do that?? It's shocking!

Ragnarok Online is in the midst of adding its sixth free expansion--if you play on the Korean servers, that is. iRO is at the fourth expansion.

Joan of arc is like the embodiment of the feminist movement

Nah, Hillary Clinton is, but that's for another thread.

I'm caucasian, but I'm not suing Rock Star for their potrayal of my kind being gunned down.

Precisely.

For goodness sake, I wish people wouldn't be so sensitive over this kind of thing. If people paid attention to what was actually going on, rather than getting hung up on words, these things would never get to this stage. It's just the idea that the minute people hear any word that relates to their ethnic group it must obviously be bad, regardless of context. Like people freaking out the minute anything is referred to as "black".

In this context, the Haitians being referred to are the guys you are out to kill. The game knows this, the player knows this. It's not referring to all Haitians everywhere and any fool can see this. Well, it seems not any fool can see this, as some clearly can't.

You fail to realize that there are groups out there who literally want to be pissed off, so they can wring concessions and money out of whatever organization or person happened to utter the magically offensive words.

Welcome to the Balkanization of America.

Played the Joan of Arc demo--terrible. My PC is a good three to four times more powerful than the game's minimum requirements, and the game chugs even with all of the special features turned off. The controls were designed specifically to piss players off: it's like Tomb Raider, only worse (especially that horse). Even on Easy, the game is overly difficult, and your allies' AI is practically nonexistant. Can't say I care for the two (two!) music tracks and the lack of voice acting, either.

Worthplaying's Ys VI trailer gets me more excited, even if it is the old Japanese trailer released months and months ago (I wonder which of their staffers had the bright idea of digging that one up...) I still can't believe Konami got the rights to that game. Maybe they can wring an Ys I-V compilation out of Nihon Falcom and release it in Summer 2004, to give us undeserving gaijin some backstory.
