Cool bit of trivia there Blue. So that is kind of like E.T. eating Reese's Pieces instead of M &M's I guess.

Yeah, did not know that. Think how popular Popeye might be right now, instead of a relative unknown.

I remember the Popeye game that was made and it was pretty fun... for a quarter They had a busted machine at the local laundry mat where if you put in a dime over and over again(like 20 times) it would register a credit
I think I first saw this game on an arcade cabinet during Expo 86 trip in Canada. I don't think I played it. Probably not. I did play it later on somewhere for sure. It was a cool game.

Re. Mario, I rebooted an original Nintendo Game and Watch of Donkey Kong just this past weekend for my daughters. It had been in my mom's attic for like 30 years.

The girls really loved it, but they were asking me where the game cartridge plugs in to the game. I had to tell them that the Game and Watch dual-screen unit only plays that one game. But they honestly didn't believe me until I walked them around the unit, which has no ports in it whatsoever.

I guess my point is, video games have come a long, long way in just 30 years. The new generation doesn't really understand just how far. And the next 30 years might be just as exciting.
Yep, too bad I am mostly retired from gaming. I bet in 30 years, it will be all VR. Anyways, I still prefer old games than the newer games.

You surf the web with ads? Have you ever heard of AdBlock? (Be sure to disable it on this fine website)

Won't that hurt Blue's revenue or does it not matter? I thought I was doing my part by allowing ads. Now I'm confused.
Allow bluesnews.com to have ads. Block others like liveleak.com.

I like when people immediately think PG = family movie or something...

Look it up, the original Poltergeist is rated PG, that's a pretty good movie to take the kiddos to see, right?

I saw Poltergeist as a kid, fucking loved it. I drew so many pictures of the tree coming through the window for the kid and the giant skull coming out of the closet. So many iconic scenes in that movie.

All that being said, Poltergest, Gremlins, and Indy Jones 2 were all rated PG, but were too scary/violent for most kids under 10. Thus was born the PG-13 rating, a scourge of movie creativity ever since.
My church friends and I also saw them back then at home on VHS tapes and cable. Poltergeist gave me nightmares, but loved it when I was older.

Most new games are coming out with Linux versions.

Are they? Is there an article that measures this? I know more have come out, but I don't see it as most or most that I play.

Actually, you're right, I don't have stats. It's probably not over 50% so most isn't the best word to use. I was just operating anecdotally, and it seems that a lot of games come out for all 3 platforms.
Need more Linux (and Mac OS X).

7. I tried to play it! Feb 20, 2016, 23:04 Ant

"Steam - Error -- Failed to start game (unknown error)."

So I manually went to and tried to run my downloaded game on my HDD, but got "I:\winstuff\steam\SteamApps\common\Cities_Skylines\Cities.exe is not a valid Win32 application."

I was going to try it on my old 64-bit Debian box. Nope! Not enough RAM and too slow (even with every graphic details to lowest settings) on it. I got bored with it already after making roads. But then I was never into SimCity type of games.

Boo. I can't play in both of my old 32-bit Windows XP Pro SP3 (requires 64-bit Windows) and my 64-bit Debian boxes (2 GB of RAM only). Need more RAM and 64-bit Windows according to https://support.paradoxplaza.com/hc/en-us/categories/200224688-Cities-Skylines ...

Ditto except I played Golden Axe on my IBM PS/2 model 30 286 10 Mhz PC in IBM (not MS) DOS v4.0. All DOS v4.0 sucked so badly due to its crappy conventional RAM to make some of the game's movements missing like throwing bad guys! I saw those moves on my friend's DOS v3.3! Oh and my first SB ISA card just for that game (only Adlib IIRC?) and future games (e.g., Wolf3D). Haha! Great IBM port too. I never finished its Duel. So hard!
