'Two-way street'? You're saying that when people are NOT being paid for that they have done?

That's a fucked up way to look at things mate.

Employers have a responsibility to pay for work done ... end of story.

If they don't have the money or know they are not gonna have the money they need to lay people off - not get them to do work and then not pay them.

Scheherazade, you contradict yourself just like how RSI does.

You say you can play 2.1 without crashes, you say it is more stable than 2.0, you then go on to say PTU is a snapshot and non-PTU (2.0) is stable. Then go on to explain that that is not always true.

That's all fine, but why then would they release it to a wider player base? YOLO is a dumb reason for anything.

By them opening it to a wider player base, and baiting them in with the mention of the Freelance, they are undermining them self's.

They even say how the PTU server are more restricted, yet here they are enticing more players to give it a try, hince, making those who would use it for bug hunting potential having to wait/miss out.

This is poor management.

As to the Star Marine issue, why then did they make the effort (which they clearly did, at some expense)?

So you don't see a need for Star Marine, well at some point Chris Roberts did - and I say that point was so that they could work on that aspect of the FPS gameplay, he was selling it up like a tactical squad shooter like SWAT or something.

I have only watched a few (maybe 90 mins total) videos of the 2.0 since it came out - I've been away working a lot - but I've yet to see any footage of people ingaging in any kind of FPS play that is anything like what Chris Roberts was talking about a year ago, in fact, I've seen no FPS shoot outs. At best I've seen a person shot their gun!

How are they going to develop their FPS gameplay if no one is testing it?

As to Arena Commander, did they use that to help refine the space fighting because from all I ever seen (it was like turrents in space, lame as) and read, very few people where happy with it and thing that people complained/disliked about it to CIG where not addressed. It was nothing more than a place where people could accutly use their internet spaceships, therefore helping to sell internet spaceships. Nothing more.

I did not twist his words, those are two quotes straight form the announcement.

Can't you read? (really - who am I to say that, I'm shit at reading! )

The way I read that announcement (above, in the topic of the thread) is they are trying to build excitement for that new release of Star Citizen Alpha 2.1.0.

Fair enough.

They state how "We know some of you really want to check out the flight-ready Freelancer", which people have paid money for ($125usd - a lot of money, more than a cupply of completed AAA games).

They are totally telling those people that they can!

They then, a few pharagraphs later say "PTU is not about “early access” to content; it’s intended for actual testing of features, content, and updates"

It's classic RSI double speak.

The "2.0 Alpha" is far from stable, yet here they are rolling out a test "2.1.0 Alpha" to the PTU with more content in it rather than getting what they have got, "2.0" more stable.

It's the continuing of disorganized production.

And the 'tease' of the Freelancer is just there to keep people putting more money into it.

Case in point - Star Marine - they did not say nothing about it even after it was months behind when they said it was to come out as a "module", when they did say something it was "days not months" then after months its, 'oh, yeah, well not now, we are changing plans, its part of 2.0 now!'

Deceptive marketing all the way.

If they where really just after feed back form the PTU, why not keep the numbers allowed into the PTU down like they did before? Just those who do give them feed back? - Cos they want to hype with another ship being added to game.

When can people invite other people into their hangars? That was ment to happen years ago - that's why people brought stuff to put in their hangars so that when they invited people into them, they could show off, now they just talk about what is in their hangars or make youtube videos about it.

The list goes on.

What about when Chris was saying more money would help to get more in game without it slowing down the rate at which it would be made?

I'm not twisting anybodies words, Chris Roberts is twisting what he says to be everything to everyone while having no plan of how he is going to make it happen.

He just wants your money so he can spend it on playing Hollywood director with his wantabe actress wife.

His live stream video of him playing the game a few days ago says it all.

Nice, classic RSI double talk in this -

"- PTU is not about “early access” to content; it’s intended for actual testing of features, content, and updates."

with this earlier in the same announcement

"We know some of you really want to check out the flight-ready Freelancer as well as the hangar-ready Sabre, so take a look at the updated 2.1.0"

That sums up Chris Roberts perfectly. Speaking with forked tounge.

I do give them props for getting their "2.0 alpha" (what is an alpha when its a 2.0 anyway) out before the New Year but it does sound like its riddled with problems.

Still, over the last couple of months they have raked in millions of dollars they claim so they have brought themselves some time to help sort out the mismanagement issuies that have plauged this prodject.

In your 1/3rd 1/3rd 1/3rd statement, what 1/3rd will spend almost $1000 on internet spaceships for a game that is still not released?

EA are totally dumb for not following your advice, your like a super master chairman.

Assiassin Creed Unity on PS4?

Plus Ubisoft is a Frence company?

I bet they planned it all in a mock up in Minecraft. (Dam Creepers!)

CIA must infertate all those evil video game companies now.

Since Fallout 4 released, the chance of terror attack in Boston has sky rocketed.

Now if the west could try not to kill so many Wedding parties in Arab countries with their killer drones, we could all try to descalate this madness.

Chris "Scummy Man" Roberts is starting to look tied in that 10 for the Conman.

Full of more 'although well still have not got to planning that at a concept stage yet' replys.

Sounds like Sandi has been shooting her mouth off about how they are going to add another 200k - 500k new backers over the next 6 months, meanwhile their funding has plunged to under $24,000 dollars a day for the last 5 days.

All the while why they spend backers money on a new office in LA and motion capture studios.

Oh, and check out the latest "Around the Vers" to see just how large Ben has become - scary.

A bunch of liars who cant make a computer game even with 90+ million dollars. (they have like about 14 diffent companies set up to milk all the money though to avoid all the accountability when this crashes, so they can all get away with all the money they have over paid themselves all this time.)

The shame is that this was a ok game at release, I was what it was sold as and worked, at which time I believe they had already made a profit on the development.

It's the them totally milking of that goodwill for nothing more that making money with no mind of the players is what has moved this into totally scummy region.

This is what happens when developers get greedy and don't give a shit about their players.

just like star citizen

Yep, except Chris 'Scummy Man' Roberts and his wife, are totally lying to and milking his fanbase/cult members for more and more money with out even delivering on even the early promises and lies.

I think the diffentance is that the people who got into PAYDAY 2 where gamers who enjoyed what they shipped, while the Star Citizen fanbois are fools living in a dream world.

Star Citizen is now selling in game cash/credits?? before there is even a game? (Is this what that is? for reals?) On top of the selling of ship concepts and the cult members are still saying its a (going to be) skill base game, not pay to win? TOTALLY BUNCH OF FOOLS - they have been told.

Good Wiki.

I'm having a great time with this game, no bugs, runs well for me.

Really starting to enjoy the 'settlements' systems as I learn them, can't wait to get my charisma up to perk up leadership to start to connect them.

Dose anyone know if I use drugs/items to get my charisma up, can I then unlock the perk and will is stay once the drugs wear off/ I take off item?

Anyone got Fallout 4 gameplay stories they wish to share? - I have found a second set of power armour (a lot more broken that the mission one)

Ditto every thing ASeven just said plus they where all fun games.

My Amiga floppy disk for Microprose Soccer died, my mother wrote a letter to Microprose and some months later (snail mail, other side of the world), I received a new floppy in the post. Been a huge Microprose/firaxis fan ever since.

Prelim reports from reading some users diving into it (I assume they are telling the truth):

- choices/consequences reduced or diminished (less or no checks for completing quests or conversations via charisma, perception, or intelligence)

Well I've had several conversations which had those in them. (they are coloured coded from light yellow to red depending on your chance of success.

- you can obtain power armor and high level mini-gun in first area of game and you can use it no sweat

Yes, but you can not then just use it all the time, you have 'fuel' for it. As well as it servers more as an item that you become invested in due to you slowly upgrading it over time.

- invincible companions

A little lame but better than having to baby sit them so they don't die or save scummy them when they do. They do get taken out of combat if they take to much damage, but are not dead and recover after, or you can medic them back up during combat.

As a game, they have made some choices for gameplay over what was the old way. I'm sure there will be many mods that will allow you to play this just the way you like - Bethesda have taken the middle road to the most gamers they can, it's what large companies do.
