Vision stabilization? Like that's ground breaking stuff right there! Why do they need such a thing in a FPS game/engine? Cos Chris Roberts, master game director, wants the first and third person animations to be the exact same ..... it'll will make the game so much better you know!
Actually, it absolutely is groundbreaking. All the animations are unified, meaning that to add a new weapon into the game only requires making it and animating it once. In the long run it will save them time. It means that the player sees whatever others around them see - there's no faking it. The vision stabilisation was the tech required to make it feel like a conventional first person shooter, as currently the movement is very clunky.

What? When did that happen? I thought you were enjoying the fuck out of the game and it already had more content than many other AAA games at release?
I enjoy it and play it regularly - I played for a few hours earlier with one of the friends I made at CitizenCon last year. The gameplay is fun, despite how basic it is. However, when you can only get 12-24fps that will obviously impact your enjoyment of the PU (which is only one element of the current release). And I never said it already has more content than many other AAA games - I said it would eventually.

Yep, waiting until 3.0, then clearing off GTA V from my SSD.
Hehe, it's one of the few games I keep on my SSD.

You're funny, really funny.

You believe everything that RSI tells you.

Do you know they lie, like often, and then after they lie, they tell you more lies and YOU believe them and then tell other people those lies like they are facts.

It's like your in a cult.

You've said things like

"The tutorial in Star Citizen does a better job and has a narrative but even that overloads the player with excessive prompts and keys to learn.",

-- a tutorial that has now been removed due to it not working and genrally being shit.

And

"Multicrew is great fun and it's only in its infancy at the moment."

-- yet that is nothing more than being a passager in another persons ship kneely 10 months after you said that.

As for free fly weekends, this is what you had to say back at the start of the year -

"As for anyone unsure of whether to get the game, simply wait for the next free fly weekend. At the moment it's really only for the fans, the people willing to put up with a lot of performance issues, gameplay problems and bugs and for those willing to report them through the Issue Council. It's not even close to the standard of a released game, nor is anyone claiming that it is. All I would say is that there's a lot of fun to be had and it's improving at quite a rapid pace now."

-- improving at quite a rapid pace??? I don't think so.

Or how about this one -

"I don't want to get towards the end of 2016 only to find at the last minute it's been delayed again."

-- guest what, that is exactly what they have done!

As I say, funny, really funny.

With 2.6 we should get vision stabilisation, a new menu system, Star Marine, rebalanced flight mechanics and a new flyable ship. With 3.0 comes the updated netcode, which should significantly improve performance - along with a huge amount of new gameplay content.

But no-one can fault CIG for smoke and mirrors when they are allowing anyone to try the game for free and see for themselves.

Vision stabilization? Like that's ground breaking stuff right there! Why do they need such a thing in a FPS game/engine? Cos Chris Roberts, master game director, wants the first and third person animations to be the exact same ..... it'll will make the game so much better you know!

Was just playing Battlefield 1 and you know what? That game could really do with unified first and third person animations, it would be so much more exciting and immersive and it would be neat if it had vision stabilization system for your view /s

Yes, I'm a critic of Chris Roberts and his funding for his Star Citizen/Sqaudran 42 games and RSI studio (plus many other things about this) but I do agree that you have to at lest give them minim credit for freqintly offering these free fly weekend so people can try their 'still in production' offerings.

So quedos to them for doing so.

What with Battlefield 1 and Civ 6 both just releasing, I'm sure Chris Roberts will be 'refactoring' Star Citizen to add in Space Combat fields with Space Tanks and a Space deplomicy and Space Tech tree setup as well.

Also there was a new trailer for GotG2 so he'll have seen that so there will be new stuff for him to copy image and make concepts of.

As of now, whatever is abled to be played by backers in 2.4, could you explain to me what is multi-crew gameplay?

If this thing ever comes out, is just half of what's been promised over the years, and isn't a bug-ridden, janky disaster, sure, I can see myself putting down $50 or the like for it.

As it is, it's just a lot of really fancy tech demos and PR. I can see why people buy into the hype, though, which is why I'm staying well away from any "early demos" or long-presentations or whatever.
The great thing is that CIG has regular free-fly weeks that allow people to test out the game in its entirety. If people like what they play they can back it, whilst others can wait or pass on it.

As an original backer from 2012 I want them to do it right. Once the game has been released it can't be taken back and the review scores will stick, along with first impressions. Obviously the delays are disappointing but they're far from unexpected. CIG has only just been showing off vision stabilisation and hasn't even shown us Star Marine yet, so the core systems just aren't in place yet.

If CIG can't show us the Squadron 42 presentation or release 3.0 this year then I'll be disappointed. If they can't get out 2.6 this year then I'll be concerned.

I have three letters for you - DNF

Where is Star Marine? Now hard can it be to make that?

Where is the Hangars that you can invite your friends into to show off the stuff you have brought form CIG (Ships, Hangar flair)? How hard could that be to make?

Chris Roberts is a joke who is using other peoples money to play director.

P.S ----- Buy more ships*!

*well, pictures of ships.

Way to have an open mind about things .... totally your choice but what if the gameplay is good with some new freshness to it and is a lot of fun? Do you just not play it cos the character you play as in charge of your own mafia is black?

Anyone who is playing want to give us some feed back.

I know that there is some issues currently (locked 30fps and some talking about crashing - that can be true for some and not for others) but the game does still seem interesting to me.

Any views (about the game) good or bad, would be good thanks. (Unless your purple, I don't like my Bluesnews comments from people who are purple )

Thanks for your report Burrito,

What is your view on the graphics? From the few streams I watched a few weeks ago, it seemed to me to all look a bit washed out, the blacks where not very deep and the colours not vivied .... was this just the quality of the streams?
