This is the main reason why upgraded to the i5-9600k instead of i7 or i9. The price/performance ratio is simply not there.
Same reason why I stuck with Intel over AMD. The single threaded performance of the Intel chips beat the AMD processors hands down every time. In the few instances where games use multiple cores/threads it's usually up to a max. of 4 threads. It's pretty hard to code game engines to be multithreaded and truly scalable to multiple cores.
