Yeah... that's what I was thinking... PS5 advertising kickback.

That said... I'd still choose Sony over Microsoft. Does the xbone still put apps like prime, netflix, hulu behind a paywall or mandatory sign in to Microsoft? I'm almost never signed into my PS4 unless I'm buying / downloading a game.

Guess the trailer needs a remaster

Yeah... like so many other game trailers... done with 3D Studio Max, Maya, Blender, or some other professional rendering tool... but the actual game looks nothing like it.

The trailer was in-engine, and that was the problem: the original was so ahead of its time, and whatever changes they made to the remaster had so little impact graphically, that most people couldn't even tell that it wasn't from the original game.

I know it was in-engine.

I was being sarcastic about remastering the trailer (itself).

Not only that... if the setting takes place with "cyber augments" that allow wall running... why wouldn't a huge chunk of the over-crwded city not be taking advantage of that? And yes, that would look stupid.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that Star Wars just isn't that great of a setting. It produced two great films (Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back) and some memorable video games, and that's about it. The rest is passable at best genre fare dressed up in nostalgia. Even the original trilogy ran out of ideas by the end of the first act of Return of the Jedi.

Yeah... 2 out of 9 films that wasn't utter crap. Pretty bad ratio.

Glad I'm not the only one that couldn't care less about Ray Tracing.

If nVidia offered a GTX 1680 TI for a couple hundred less than the RTX 2080 TI... or... for next gen, a GTX 1780(?) TI for a couple hundred less than RTX 3080 TI... I'd go with a GTX every time. That's how much I don't care about fricken Ray Tracing.

Resolution Games, the leading VR and AR game studio behind Angry Birds: Isle of Pigs, Bait!, Acron: Attack of the Squirrels and more

Since he is joining that... I guess we can put Mr. Hall in the category of "washed up", along with the likes of Richard Garriott, Warren Spector, D.W. Bradley, etc. etc.

Yeah, I'm still scratching my head with the word "multi-platform". Linux? IOS? Android? OSX? Consoles other than Xbone?

Vulkan is truly multi-platform, and already has Ray Tracing.
Wikipedia: "On March 17, 2020, Khronos Group released the Ray Tracing extensions by adopting previously existing Nvidia implementation with some minor changes."

Windows + Xbone ain't very "multi".

Rather have a decent discount as an "incentive" (Especially since I normally won't pre-order anything) than garbage that will most likely be available on the Internet somewhere (if I actually wanted any of the garbage, which I don't)

I don't get Liquid Nitrogen overclocking. Who cares if an overclock is only stable enough to get through a few benchmarks?

I mean... you can't play a game for several hours at LN overclock. You can't do some high computation or trans-coding for more than a few minutes. It's completely useless other than "breaking some stupid record".

Just started farting around in SWTOR. I figure after 8.5 years they must have patched it to be decent. They did get rid of a lot of the F2P restrictions, and since I figure to pretty much only solo / do a class story... I figured what the heck... I'll give it a shot.

Does it even matter how long it takes? If it releases and it is a masterpiece literally not a single person will remember the delays. They will remember the game for what it offered them, new experiences and immersive gameplay.

First impressions are the most important ones, so for a game like this it needs the polish turned up to 11

Actually... it does. We've had several over-hyped long developed games that end up being failures.

Not that I think that this is the case with Cyberpunk... but I also don't agree with the "however long it takes" / "when it's done" attitude of fans.
Usually... the longer a game is delayed (or more numerous times)... the more of a train wreck it becomes because it was a mis-managed project to begin with.

Again... not saying this is the case with Cyberpunk (given the excellence of Witcher 3... good track record)... but I'm not going to blindly forever judge these things as positive, either.

This is also another reason not to pre-order. With all these delays and CDPR saying that the September delay was the last one. I knew they were lying. If CDPR was willing to delay all the way to September, then they are willing to delay to maybe even 2021. If it finally does get released this year than good. I won't be surprised if CP2077 gets a Jan 2021 release. Either that for companies just like releasing at around christmas time or obvious reasons.

Yup, glad I don't pre-order.

I have several other reasons that I won't pre-order any game.... might be utter crap, might be overly buggy at launch, local store might get it for me (Old reason that doesn't really apply anymore with digital stores), and of course today's example... multiple delays while they hold my money.

That said... most games (95%) aren't even a day 1 launch purchase for me. I like to wait for reviews, usually a few patches after launch, and a good sale, before I buy. However, there are rare games that are close to "instant purchase at full price" for me... Cyberpunk 2077 may be one of those few (probably closer to a "first week or two purchase" after some launch stability news).

I bought my copy on GoG... how about a 20% Pre-Order discount on Cyberpunk 2077?

(I don't pre-order games (Stopped doing the crap back when Oblivion came out and the stores had it before me)... but I might be tempted with that deal, CD PROJECT RED's good track record with Witcher 3, and their good will with a DRM - Free Game store)

Noooooooooooooooo!

Please don't be true, please don't be true, please don't be true.
There's not much rush to release the next big thing when you nailed it the last time and your previous iteration is still selling like hotcakes.
Yeah, I even had the same thought when they announced their Zen 2 refresh recently. I considered that it meant they would be delaying the Zen 3 launch.

I was just excited that everything was lining up relatively closely - Zen 3, Geforce 3000, and Cyberpunk 2077.

The article states they may just skip right to the 5nm (Zen4?) at CES... If that actually happens... that would be going for Intel's jugular.
