If this CEO was a woman who was praising laws that banned contraceptive methods for men only (vasectomy, etc.) then she would rightly be called batshit crazy and asked to step down I think. I don't think it's too much to ask from a CEO that they don't treat the opposite sex as second class citizens. Just because a significant portion of the US believes that women are indeed second class citizens doesn't mean that we have to just accept it and move on. Believe what you want, and feel free to share those beliefs all you want, but as many have said already, freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequences. This guy was not banned from Twitter, or jailed for expressing his opinion. He's still free to say whatever hateful garbage he wants.

A free upgrade is always nice, but a $10 upgrade fee going forward is more than fair. People seem to be surprised and/or upset by this for some reason. You can still play the PS4 games on PS5 without upgrading, so I don't see any issue. Kudos to Sony and other publishers for providing free upgrades on many titles already.

After FarCry 5, I told myself that I wouldn't buy another FarCry game on launch day. For years It's been the same old game wrapped up in a neat new package. But it sure is a pretty package, with a cool villain and a great setting. I'm sure I'll play it at some point, but I don't know if I can justify to myself paying full price for this one.

Okay just tried the download again today and everything is fine so far. The download is around 37GB.
37 GB for a strategy game?!?!?!?! What the frak?

It has hella graphics. You've never reaped corn this pretty before. Seriously though, that does seem a little big for the base game, but textures are quite detailed and it is pretty looking even when zoomed in, so I imagine that has a lot to do with it.
Nice dupe. Well, I won't be getting the bext visuals since my used video card is a GeForce GTX 750 Ti (2 GB of VRAM).

The late game started to chug a bit on my 1080Ti on High graphics settings (one notch below max settings I believe) so yea, it probably won't run too great on a 750 at anything higher than low settings, but maybe it will scale well at lower graphics settings and not look like a blurry mess. I haven't tried it so I have no idea unfortunately. I wish you the best of luck with it if you try it though. I don't normally play these kinds of games either but I found this one kind of zen. I liked it quite a bit.

I haven't played the game, just watched a partial playthrough, but the grenades from Death Stranding should be on that list. From what I recall, they're literally made from your poop, piss, and shower water.

Blue, do we have a Blue's News Discord server? I asked yesterday but didn't get a response. Or I hadn't at 1am CST when I turned in for the night.

This is Bluesnews... he's always 10 years behind the times. We just got a mobile-friendly version of the site recently, so I expect a Discord server to be a few years off at least. Seriously though a Discord server would be nice. Might make it easier to find other people to game with since I know very few gamers IRL. But as far as I know there isn't one currently.

remember back in the 90s, when scientists sounded the alarm about CFCs depleting the ozone layer so every country on earth took swift action banning them with the Montreal Protocol?

can you imagine that happening today? fucking lol man

Zero chance. People would just deny the ozone layer exists and claim it's all a conspiracy by communists to hurt business. All part of their plot to destroy America. After all, when you look out your window, you don't see an ozone layer, so it's obviously fake news.

Well I hate to be in a position to defend Bone, but actually Al did grab a woman's breasts for a photo while she was asleep, during a 2006 USO trip to Kuwait. That's what led to him resigning: LINK

Frankly, Al should have apologized and stayed, but the Dems had backed themselves into a corner on this and MeToo was at it's peak.

There are few senators who understand the Internet and Al was doing good things to protect the Internet from the stupidity of government, and there's really been no one to fill the void.

I'm aware of the photo, I just wouldn't call that "grabbing a woman's breast". Not even close really. It's gross and inappropriate, that's for sure, but not on the level of assault that is usually implied when it is discussed. I mean, he's literally just making a grabbing gesture and not actually grabbing anything.

Well, you need the help of MSM and SM to curb the masses, son. Al grabbed some sleeping woman's breasts. That may not seem like a big deal to you, but to others, it is. So deal with the consequences and move on. Cheers.

Nope, that didn't happen. You're massively exaggerating. Got any evidence that Al grabbed a sleeping woman's breast? No? Didn't think so.

this is a cool game... it has most of the same features of so many other games, but for some reason, this one has some kind of indescribable quality that makes it better than most

For me it was the retro graphical style and the sound design that sucked me in. I know some don't like the look, but I loved it. Reminds me of Asheron's Call. Very minimalist sound design with great ambient sounds make exploration a lot of fun too. It can be quite eerie trotting through the dark woods, hearing nothing but creaking trees and the wind.

I lost interest in the game after a few hours, but loved what I played of it. It needs more content for sure. I could see myself putting countless hours into this if the content is there, but I think it will be a while before it gets to that point. Another year or two maybe. They're a very small team after all.

I played the new enhanced Quake for a few hours last night and had a great time. Beat the base game single player on nightmare difficulty, then played DM with bots (because I have no friends that play Quake). The bots did a pretty decent job of mimicking real players and it was surprisingly fun playing with them. Like Blue said, the graphical updates (models, lightning, etc.) fit the game perfectly and nothing feels out of place. I'm looking forward to trying out the new missions soon.

Valheim was fun for a few hours but after that, there wasn't much left to do. All of the new stuff I was finding felt 'samey'. No dungeons (those crypt things don't count), no NPCs, no towns, no side quests. I like what is there, but it is definitely unfinished, as Steele Johnson said, and needs a lot more content. I know they're a small team, so I expect progress on the game to be slow, but I look forward to checking it out again in a year or two after they've hopefully added more content.

Brutally hot summer? What a ridiculous joke...;) This has been one of the mildest, coolest summers on record in my neck of the woods. "Experts"?...what a joke. Partisan political idiots, is more like it, imo.

You realize the world is larger than "your neck of the woods," and that there's actual data backing this?

Typical far right extremist: "My anecdotal evidence is better than literally hundreds of thousands of data points from experts! Facts are political to me, so I'll ignore ones I don't like!"

I wonder if Walt even realizes he's far right? He probably thinks the entire country is like him.

He's using Louie Gohmert logic: snow fell somewhere in the world, so climate change can't be real!

You can respect characters at Akara in Act 1.

But yeah, a lot of QoL is missing. For example, they kept the stupid "shared drops" mechanics.
I just played with 7 other people through Act 1, guess how many blue/yellow drops I managed to pick up as a ranged class? ZERO
As soon as anything dropped, the melee characters were instantly all over it.

I didn't know (or forgot) that you could respec. I wonder if that was added long after release because I don't remember that at all.

They kept shared loot drops? That really sucks. I enjoyed playing pub games back in the day but it always frustrating losing drops that you needed because someone else got to it first. I heard they added auto gold pickup, so that's a nice little QoL feature that I've always wanted, but it's just not enough to bring me back.

Got a slot for the Diablo 2 Resurrected early beta yesterday.

Just finished Act 1. It's Diablo 2, a bit buggier, but prettier. That's pretty much it.

Dunno if it's worth what Blizz is asking.

I mean that's exactly what they advertised it as, and what was expected, so that's fine. I do wish they would have updated the game with modern concepts and mechanics (like being able to respec characters) but the hardcore fanbase would have freaked. I loved Diablo 2 but I think I'll be skipping the remaster since it's mostly just a graphics upgrade, though admittedly it does look pretty.
