Borderlands movie? Wow Im surprised that's even a thing. Seriously. The story in those games is forgettable to the point of me actually remembering just the robot (and not even it's name). The zany humor sort of worked within the confines of the game, but translated to the big screen I doubt it will be anything other than cringe worthy.

Yea I don't see any scenario where the Borderlands movie could be anything but a cringefest. I'm calling it now: 26% critic score on RT, 64% audience score. If I'm way off, I definitely won't edit this post to make it look like I was right.

In 2021 we got :

Halo Infinite
Forza Horizon 5
Guardians of the galaxy
Hitman 3
Psychonauts 2
Tales of Arise
Age of Empires 4
The Ascent
Mass Effect Legendary Edition
The Returnal
Deathloop
It takes two
Metroid dread
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD
Resident Evil Village
2 Monster Hunter games !

What kind of screwed up person believes 2021 was the worst year in gaming ? What's wrong with you people ?

What's wrong with me is that I have good taste in games I'm joking of course. It's all subjective anyway. "Worst year ever for games" is pure hyperbole. Most of those games didn't interest me but I did really like Metroid Dread. There are a couple of others there that I may pick up on sale but I can't get excited about.

Holy cow! It's just a show. You'll get over it in time.

Anyway, I agree with Simon Says about how the show got progressively worse in the later seasons (season 4 was the peak IMO) after they ran out of book material, although later seasons did have some really good individual moments and episodes.

My point is that there are actually people out there who expected and wanted a happy ending, and they are not a small number of people. I suspect many are casual viewers who probably missed the first few seasons of the series, only to start watching as positive word of mouth spread about the show, and don't know or care that the books even exist. I know many of these people. When the show didn't end how they wanted, they were upset. After the series finale, most of the show criticism I came across on social media (outside of reddit or forums like bluesnews) was about this, and not the bad writing or butchered characters.

When Dinklage says that audiences were disappointed in the final season because they "wanted the pretty white people to ride off into the sunset together", I honestly don't think he's wrong about that. At least, I think that's what the more casual GoT viewers wanted, a happy ending with Jon and Daenerys sharing the throne, riding dragons together. For the more critical GoT fan, there was plenty else to complain about but I honestly do think we are in the (loud) minority.

Ok, 2021 kind of sucked for games. But 2022 has some pretty impressive releases coming. Horizon: Forbidden West, God of War 2, Dying Light 2, Elden Ring, maybe Starfield. Three of those are coming soon in February. Gonna be a great month at the very least.

Good trailer. Looking forward to The Batman more than I thought I would be when it was first announced. I'm glad they're not doing another origin story. Batman Begins did a good job of that and we don't need to see it again IMO. I'm not into superhero stuff generally but I've always liked Batman because he's just a man, and has no superpowers. I've also enjoyed every film iteration of Batman, from Keaton to Affleck, they've all been entertaining in their own way, even if the films themselves haven't always been great.

Third one wasn't great story wise, but had some of the best fight scenes of any of the three. The knife museum fight, my God, that was awesome. I could just rewatch that one scene all day.

? That's where I disconnected... It was patently obvious they sacrificed the whole scene just because they didn't want any cuts or angle changes to the action.

You can literally see when the actors and stuntmen obviously WAIT for their turn to move all the damn time, the choreographic nature is laid bare in all its flaws. They could've hit Keanu silly on his ass countless, but no, you could see them waiting like dumbasses because the director made a stupid filming decision. I couldn't believe my eyes that they would be so sloppy and insult the intelligence of the audience to that degree. Suspension of disbelief went straight out the window and never came back in.

It was one of the worst if not the worst fight scene I witnessed in the last 20 years of cinema.

There's no way you two are talking about the same scene. Like another poster above, it seems like you misunderstood what film TFP was referencing? The knife fight scene in John Wick 3 is so well choreographed that it doesn't look choreographed at all. It's spontaneous, fluid, felt real (no superhuman shit going on), and looked awesome. Lots of different camera angles and no stuntmen waiting for their turn (which I hate too). Or maybe you're thinking of the end fight in JW3? That was a little bit of a letdown, but still wasn't bad IMO.

Is AI in Cyberpunk really that bad? Been waiting to play this once patches made it worth playing, but this makes it sound like it will never be, given that the devs just "gave up" on implementing police chases since they never implemented driver AI ...

The AI is fine. Maybe not outstanding, but it's not bad. Better than, say, the GTA games.

Sure, engaging in a high speed police chase throughout Night City sounds awesome, but the game is structured in such a way that nearly all of the combat is either indoors or in relatively confined areas outdoors, so there's not many opportunities for police chases to happen anyway unless you want to mow down random people in the street, which some people like to do I suppose. I don't think I've had to engage with police more than 2 or 3 times throughout the game. And when I did, I never noticed them spawning in odd places or anything. Cars are really just a way to get from point A to point B (and some racing). The combat AI, while on foot, is just fine.

Getting shot over some diablo 2 loot... what a bunch of fucking morons.

Brah he didn't get shoot over some D2 loot, Per the affidavit, Dickson "closed the distance" between the pair, and Spellman shot him. I am 100% sure Spellman was scared for his life at that point, and took the same actions has the heroic Kittenhouse would have.

So it's ok to shoot and kill someone if they're walking towards you for any reason. I can grab my gun, go to my neighbors house, kick the door open and when my neighbor shows up to see what's going on, I can shoot him dead, and that's ok? Sounds like a conservative's dream world. Not a place I'd want to live though.

i cant say if he was a cuckservitive or libtard but his answer as to why he keeps a gun next to his computer says all i need to know about this shitbag. Kittenshouse and Zimmerman are both consecutive hero's for picking fights they couldn't win

Ok, I thought you were seriously praising this shooter as a hero. I didn't see how you spelled "Kittenhouse". I think I missed some sarcasm in your post. Nothing surprises me anymore so I didn't think it would be too far fetched to see someone laud this shooter as a some kind of patriot.

The expanded Paragon system looks pretty neat. The addition of rifts, greater rifts, and Paragon to D3 improved the endgame dramatically, but they were all added post-launch so they've always felt just kind of tacked on. With D4 they have a chance to work these systems into the game from the ground up, which could do a lot to ensure that the endgame is expansive and satisfying. So far the game looks good.

I thought Matrix Reloaded was a fun action movie, but yea it didn't really add anything to the first, which stands on its own quite well. I never even bothered with the third. I don't really have the same fondness for the first film as many others do though so I'll probably skip the new one unless it gets great reviews. For the sake of Matrix fans, I hope it's good.

Most actors don't even watch the movies they appear in. I would never expect them to touch a game that they did voice work on, especially if they aren't even gamers themselves.

I mean it doesn't look perfect but it looks a hell of a lot better than it did on PS4, and it looked great on PS4.

The game was fantastic. It could have used one or two more epic boss fights, and the main baddie was kind of dull, but that valkyrie queen fight was something special. Can't wait for the sequel.

I can't say much about any of the games on this list except that of all the games I played this year, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart definitely deserves the award for Best Visual Design. It's a fun, fantastic looking game that makes me glad I got a PS5 early.
