That's not an opinion, it's a suggestion, otherwise known as an idea, and that idea is stupid for the reasons outlined by not only me, but you.

That's a pretty stupid idea.
I always find out about updates on bluesnews and then start steam.

please do not spread your endless ages propaganda on a post for AO, thats low man, plus endless ages is a horrible, horrible, horrible, completely laughable mmo, just becuase you like the aspect of a tiny community where you can talk to the devs doesn't make you a liason. Even if it didn't have a subscription fee you'd have to pay ME to play it. AO is a solid mmorpg that has been alive with a large, paying playerbase for years (Recently I've heard it was low but the facts are its a successfull mmo). the fact you dont have to pay for the original anymore puts it way up there. Any other free mmorpg is beta of halfassed. I personally don't have the time to play AO but I had played it for over a year before and I had alot of fun, I recommend everyone to try it.

I'm pretty certain he has no idea what hes talking about, 'simple serials' are 'Complexly checked' making it near-impossible to use a keygen to create a key that would actually work online. (You have a higher chance of winning the lottery than generating a working key)

As with all games, a cdkey generator will create a key that the installer algorythm verifies, however when you try to play online it will check your key in its database of keys that were actually printed and boxed, if it fails that check you can't play... Steam does the same thing except for single player games as well. Take it from me, you will not being seeing any 'warezed' users on legit servers, and if they can figure out how to run an emulated steam server then I'll be damned.

I'm an ex-torque developer, maybe TSE will shape up but TGE is a very unsuppored piece of garbage. The community was forced to recompile the exporters for newer versions of max/maya... obvious issues with ATI hardware goes unaddressed etc. Lack of communication to the community by garagegames is a huge problem (i.e I bought TSE and didnt hear of one update for months and months, and when I asked they told me that was my problem and if I really cared I should pull the changelogs from the cvs - unacceptable)

I completed the framework of an mmo game on the torque engine (zoning, item/skill persistance, inventory management etc), Yes its easy to work with, but that comes at a cost, and that cost was too high for me. I'd rather work with a much more supported engine for a higher cost than fix everything myself which would end up costing more in the long run.

If you don't believe me and think I don't know what I'm doing or I'm just anal about torque/garagegames then do yourself a favor and before you get too far into development ask yourself why GarageGames has over 40,000 torque licences and only about 2 non garagegames games made it to retail(and failed miserably, DH:Lore anyone?). There are serious issues with the engine, it is not as good as it is advertised.

That being said I wish you luck.

You're insane.

I've played neocron since beta 2 and loved the game to death. I can even agree the 1/4 fps makes it really fun to play. But if you honestly, truly believe the visuals are better than in AO you have got something wrong with your eyes or brain because that is just simply not true, its not even a matter of taste, its a matter of 20 polygons and 64^2 textures. Neocron looks like a piece of shit. and for whatever reasons it has a tiny playerbase compared to any other mmo.

You're crazy... almost everything except the player models look the same.. its still really poorly supported, many bugs, horrible framerates, and trash textures, not to mention the underlying game itself is really bad, and early leveling is WORSE than it was before, the point of bdoy was to add to the higher level game with more quests and shit like that

Well, the entire reason they called it 'Neocron 2' was a marketing thing so people would understand they didnt need neocron 1 to play (its a 'full' new game) even if its REALLY only an expansion they're selling as a full game, still though the game is decent, much better framerates... I suggest people give it a try. If you can get into it its really a fun game, and they really need a boost in population

I'm not debating that ONS is more or less fun... I played tribes2 for like a day when it first came out and thought it was kack

just saying ONS has everything tribes2 does is stupid thats all, tribes2 is far far more complicated, probably a reason why it didnt do too well. that and the fact it barely ran on computers in 1999.

give it a shot on may 4th

I rarely reply to these but that is the most retarded thing I have heard on this site in a long time

Its great they are releasing a scripting tool and everything and im sure great mods will come out of this but onslaught is a very very small subset of tribes2, sure it has better graphics, an better physics, but its not even remotely the same, in tribes2 you could set up remote equipment and change turret barrels, tonnes of weapon/backpack combinations, remote inventory stations etc

what does ONS have? connect nodes to destroy the enemy base, while getting base ut2k3 weapons with new models by touching a weapons locker, and waiting for vehicles to respawn, 50% of what tribes2 is

tribes2 is being released for free on may 4th too, I suggest you give it a try again so you know the difference

I tend to agree for a 45 meg download I can see how you would consider it dissapointing. However, I can see what they are trying to do and the modifications they have made to the game are cool, essentialy I belive it was released far too early, this is more of an alpha than a demo, also the quake3 physics need to be fixed, im sorry but no AI can stand a chance against anyone who has played a few osp matches on speakeasy.net. maybe if it was a few more levels and about 5 times longer play time it could have been called a demo, also new monsters are needed, even if they just use the models from q3. my 2 cents - released too early but has some potential to be a quake2ish style shooter.
