"Lemme get this straight, you have people designing plasma weapons, turning iron oxide into hydrogen and water, and nobody can make a shotgun with a flashlight on it? Hell, even miners have lights mounted on their helmets since Thomas Edison."

I thought it made perfect sense...see the light on the helmets are there because, unlike shotguns, YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE USING THEM IN THE DARK! Everyone knows when you're using your shotgun in the dark your buddy is holding the flashlight to daze the deer 'til you shoot him...sheesh n00Bs!

'you spend hours discussing libertarian and ignore the torture of civilians!!!!!!!!'

Bullshit...what a bunch of self-riteous tripe. There's many times more outrage in the west at those pictures than there was in the Middle East when American's were dragged through Somali or Iraqi streets or when their own governments committed atrocities like that on their own people. The fact is people seem to think it's ok when an American is tortured because they, for some reason had it coming. BTW...IANAA (I am not an American)

...More SST

I hope some of the FBI stuff hits the fan before the season finale. Of course the agent working with Ade said a case like this can take seven years before it goes to trial. They are at least 3-4 in already

I hear ya on that...although I do hope that in the ensuing shakedown that occurs when shit does hit the fan that the agent handling Ade meets with gets hers. I can't stand her >;)

Tony Blundetto...really liking that character, I hope they develop him much more.

What was it it Pauly said when Tony had Christopher on the ground? My phone rang just as he was talking and all I got was Christopher say 'Wadda you sayin' Pauly!' or something like that... >8(

Also - I've missed the odd show...how long has Tony been on the blow?

Exactly. I don't know why but it seems trendy for the sheep to keep saying 'iD only makes good engines...'. That's just bullshit. I've had a huge number of playing hours from Q1 thru Q3A. Their games don't lack playability.

'These levels feature unscripted, advanced AI'

I love BF1942, still play online daily, but I almost fell out of my chair laughing at the AI comment...hehe.

I don't really understand getting pissed off at a company for not releasing their game. It isn't like Broussard ever promised when it would be out. Obviously it has taken much longer to complete than they originally thought, maybe (probably?) even done large rewrites. But maybe in the end that will be a good thing...I'm sure with the franchise they can have with Duke Nukem they won't want to f**k it up by releasing a bad game. If they got the cash to do it and still build a great game, which they probably do with the sales of other games, then I say whatever...good for the gamer.

Actually aguita one could argue that *ensuring* backward compatibility has hindered MS and the PC in the past. Think how much faster and more reliable Windows and the PC in general would be if MS had not wanted to make sure people could still run their old DOS apps and maintain compatibility with older hardware as well. The popular conception that one reads on /. and some other sites that MS got where they are today by screwing the user is just that, a myth.
