Actually it is based on the first book in a series of novels (which the movie was based on) by Sergey Lukyanenko.

Yeah that is a little wierd. Seeing as they are probably not to far into the development of the game they might just be gathering what the players want added that was not in the series earlier. Though this is just speculation as I have not got around to buying GalCiv: A.P. yet.

How did it wake 51% of the population up maplebob? I was all for the war in Afganistan but not Iraq. The funny thing is the Midwest was somehow scared by 9/11 what the hell is there to destroy there? Hell New York voted overwhelmingly Democraticly but how can that be the most likely target for terrorist attacks vote for the supposedly weaker canidate. Hell democrats are prowar too, as Clinton dropped way more bombs then Bush Sr, but they like having a reason to do so besides shear petiness.

The funny part comes when you think about the guise under which we went to Iraq considering they had nothing to with 9/11. If we really wanted to go to war with Terrorism we would invade Saudi Arabia but they actually have an army that could combat our shrinking military and not to mention ties to our big businesses as they own 7-8% of the oil industry. Ever since Lebanon, Israel has been stooping to more and more terrorist like levels but once again we would not fight them as they could bite back and they are basically our one buddy in the middle east.

So basically instead of waking up 51% of the country all that occured was fear being put into the populace through media spinning.

Tangent: This fucking bipartisanship has got to end both sides are just shades of genericism to get the mass vote. What is scary is the fact that technically Bush is the best the Republicans have to offer as they selected him out of all others to represent the party:D.

PS. Just had to format so i have no spell check.

Yeah strategy first filing for bankruptcy has delayed more then one game I was looking forward to. I hope that they at least manage to translate Golden Land to English well enough and publish it before they die.

I am all for online distribution no boxes, cardboard, and plastic to produce just to have people throw out and on top of that since there is no packaging costs more money can go to feed the developers. That said I like having a physical manual.

Yeah, Sony's extremely poor battery life impresses me too? Did you catch how their estimates they released a while ago were for basically playing solitaire with no sound?

Was their estimate 4-6 hours at that level of use to? I do not see the need for more powerful graphics on a portable system as I am quite comfortable with GBA level sprites.

so improve your INTERNAL SECURITY dumbass because 99.44% of the time "these guys" are your employees or someone along the production chain, which is completely trackable if people would make an effort to do so.

I would have to say that figure is quite inaccurate; often it is the review copies wind up on the file sharing networks.

Paranoid I for one believe them as the file originated off a ftp server with only 15 slots available for download and there was no mention of the demo's existance on the website for 2 or 3 days.

I was looking forward to the game but I did not see any dialog trees in the portion of the demo that I played before I gave due to the crappy interface and translation. I am going to wait for some reviews on this one.

On the subject of foreign RPGS, I hope that Strategy First's impending doom does not kill our chances of seeing Golden Land translated.

I might just have to go out and buy nwn plat because Rob Bartel is the lead designer of the Live team and they are going to finish making(edit: how did I miss typing the whole point of my post?..) the Witches' Wake series. Plus the guy making shadowguard is talented.

Maybe one day, the dream of digitally creative people everywhere, creators could make a living off of doing what they love to do and quit their corporate drone drudge-work.

People can quit their drone/drudge work they just have to some talent and willingness to work hard. Jeff Vogel has been making games for somewhere near a bazillion years now and only make his living from said games.

The Q&A's are humorous but what really kills me are the knot-heads STILL asking "whats the status on co-op"?

Psh, it would not be a Stalker interview if they did not ask that hump and I am sure by now the interviewers are tradition bound so they have to ask.

Not really Todd, the Nazi party leaders brought several fashion designers in and they came up with the sleek, angular, and imposing uniform people instantly recognize today. They created the first standard assault rifle with the Sturmgewehr(sp?) 44 and their machine guns were the best in the world at the time.

I have not touched any red or white meat in about a year now. Though that stemmed from one burger and not a fear of bse/bird flu. I got a burger from Wendy's that had apparently been sitting out for a while as i had to go on antibiotics for 2 weeks and on top of that the damn worker did not wash his hand so i got ecoli also

Ok, when did the Tribes series begin, and when did the Unreal Tournament series begin. Hmmmm

If you actually read his post you should have been able to tell that he was being sarcastic. Edit: Hell if you even read just all of that one line you should have been able to tell.

...they're one of the reasons that Half-Life 2 has been delayed for so long...

Actually there was article a while back where they admitted that the leaking of the source code had nothing to do with the delay; it was just an easy and convenient opportunity to pass the blame.

Bush won that debate hands down

But does anyone in their right mind care? Both the candidates are ridiculous. Hopefully in four more years we will actually have a choice between two candidates who actually have good policies. I could not sit through another two hours of other debate between them.

Brian Fargo already acquired the rights for Wasteland from Electronic Arts. To bad meantime never came out.

Sierra needs to let them make Arcanum 2(TB only); Troika's ideas for it were interesting. Or I would be happy if they created their own D&D campaign with good character interaction and story the ToEE engine has potential.

In short Arcanum's world, multiple solutions, character interaction, and story ruled while combat sucked. In ToEE's case the story was miniscule and its character interaction blew while the combat was awesome. If they made Arcanum 2 with ToEE's turn based combat I could die happy.

In closing this year is worse than last year when it comes to rpgs. Bloodlines, Restricted Area, and Kult (if I am that desperate) are basically all there is to look forward to.

Well actually making an rts successor to the BG series makes sense because at the very very beginning they were actually setting out to make an rts.

On bioshock, I have died and gone to heaven both system shocks owned.
