Is there a demo for Auto Assault? I like Twisted Metal and RPGs, but I've heard some mixed reviews of this game.

And how many more bugs does this introduce?
Sorry, but I have been burned so many times on these patches.
The first patch introduced so many problems it got rolled back.
Another patch made a map to crash if I shot a rocket from a jeep.

Whats the grind like in this game? If it is similar to Lineage II then no thanks, I already have a job.

Did anyone find any screenshots of this game?
The only ones I could find are here:

This might be "stunning in-game visuals" if this was 1996.

I think what has been keeping me from playing are the imbalances. At first it was the M60 that was nerfed for obvious reasons, but now it seems every game is about the NVA stealing the American choppers and just ruling the skies. I'll see a chopper pilot with 30 kills and the highest infantry has like 6 kills. With the combination of American's lack of anti-air and a skilled NVA pilot who keeps getting repairs, it just isn't fun.

This game looks very similar to FarCry and seems to have the same feature list. Does anyone know what graphic engine it is using?

I am really glad they changed the M60. So many times I would race other VC to pickup a dead GI's M60, like a bunch of vultures.

I tried Lineage II beta for a while.. by far the most boring game I have every played. I actually had some fun with Shadowbane for a couple months before I got frustrated with all the bugs and gold farming so I will remain interested in the MMORPG genre.

The people who like Lineage II keep saying how great the Lineage II content is in the higher levels, but as a casual gamer I just don't feel like banging my head against a wall for 200 hours to get there.

4. Re: No end game? On the contrary... Mar 24, 2004, 20:07 SizzleChest
I've been playing the closed beta for a few weeks. I've gotten a toon from each race up to around 7, but then I lose interest.

Yes the graphics are pretty good for MMORPG although the colors and textures are earth-tone blah. Although there are quests, there are probably only 10 that are worthwhile so you will be spending 99% of your time camping monsters.

The problems I have are similar to other testers.
• Lack of customization. Few character choices for faces and hair. Plus there are only a few pieces of armor that you can acquire based on your level so you'll meet your twin all the time.
• If you die from monster or even PvP you lose XP and even levels. I had to redo level 5 three times.
• The equipment doesn't have modifiers so nothing you get feels unique or special
• Can't change your stats so once again you don't feel unique
• New skills only open up every 7 or 5 levels making you use the same spell or skill over and over for weeks.
• Lack of skills/spells. My human mage will be using the same windstrike and frost bolt till like level 40.
• The grind is really really really bad. Spend 5 hours killing orcs so you can spend 10 hours killing golemns so you can spend 20 hours killing bats... and all the time with the same spell/skill.
• Only dwarfs can craft.
• The drop rate is awful. One item dropped for the first 400 kills. The drop rate did improve with Prelude
• In pre-prelude there are about 100 quests, 40 for your race and only 10 worth while. The rest of time is grind.
• Because the way xp is split in groups, most people will solo till level 14 when they are forced to group to kill monsters tough enough to give xp. This makes the early game very lonely.
• Also the way xp is split, if people don't pull their weight, you feel like they are dragging the group down. Thats why I always saw groups of 2, healer and tank. I rarely saw any group larger than 4.
• Although things might change, I didn't see one pet. Some of the pets cost a lot of money to even summon and some had a 6 hour cooldown.

My impression is the game isn't built for the casual gamer like me who would log in for a few hours, kill some orcs, pull too many, die and lose all the xp I spent that night getting.

News Comments > ShellShock Nam '67 Announced
14. Re: No subject Feb 19, 2004, 17:36 SizzleChest
I am little bit worried about the graphics of some of these Vietnam games coming out.
The screenshots linked from the article for Shellshock: Nam 67 all look duotone, as if everything was made with the same texture... jungle green.
Green foliage, green uniforms, green ground, green buildings, even the sky looks pale green.

8. Can't think of one good video game movie Oct 31, 2003, 15:05 SizzleChest
I can't think of one good movie made from a video game. I didn't see Resident Evil, which I heard was just ok.

Mortal Combat 1 & 2
Double Dragon
Super Mario Bros.
Tomb Raider
Final Fantasy
Street Fighter
Wing Commander
