I wonder why they bother to make games. They suck at it so bad. They should stick to what they know best - making engines with nifty words to throw around like specular lighting, pixel distortion plasmafiltering, etc.
It's like they love to code and play around with new technology, and they just want to put it into use, so they make a game.
When I played Doom3, I got the feeling that the monsters were put into the game to make the effects and their engine look good. Not the other way around, as it should have been.
Zombies, monsters that hurl fireballs, flying torsoes, flying flaming skeleton heads, triggerspawns behind you, etc, were all ok I guess. Then I turned 12.
I dunno.. Does anyone agree? Even the slightest?
That being said and all, I hope Quake4 will kick ass, but I'd be really surprised. I've been hoping for a comeback ever since quake1. Here's to hoping
