Everyone here must have played a different Diablo II than I did. Everyone I knew always played a Realm character, which required a dedicated internet access to play, even when you were playing alone. And that was over 10 years ago. The version of Diablo 3 I'm buying will be very similar to the version of Diablo 2 I played then, except now my internet connection should be a lot more stable.

Painkiller was pure fun. PCF should go back to making games like that.

@glowingwind
Thank you for the suggested sites that is awesome, however I'm really looking for 3-5 MODS that are the "must haves" that most players are using. I'm can only imagine the thousands of MODS out there for this game..lol.

I guess my question to you then is, what do I stand to gain from the fear mongering? My bankroll doesn't change. Is your Daddy a pharmacist? Did I pinch a nerve? Im sorry.

Serious question here though. Have you got your injection yet? Just curious.

Why does the crazy man outside my office walk around all day babbling to himself? He has no financial gain to doing so. He does it because he's out of his damn mind. Same principle applies here. You don't need a reason to do something if you're a conspiracy-spewing whack job.

I guess ActiBlizz doesnt want its name smeared by craptastic licences. Oh well one good thing that came out of the merger I guess

Actually, Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay was actually a really good game.

It's a shame Bioware was bought by EA. Looks like I'll have to sit this one out.

Because?

If you don't mind patching, you can get the original version of the Witcher for $24 at Amazon right now. Original versions are patchable to the Enhanced Edition, as we all now well know.

It's typical of a new program to test it out on limited supplies first, just to make sure it works or is worthwile before they invest the resources to expand it further.

If it's a popular program, they'll start doing it for more titles in the future.

Hmm... I wonder if this has anything to do with the fact that he worked on Everquest II - didn't Blizzard have an MMO that came out right about that time, too?

Shame, I would love to play Mass Effect but I don't buy games with limited activations or any other overly restrictive DRM.

What's overly restrictive about this?

They're awfully glib, considering that they're basically announcing the death of their company.

While I understand that some gamers prefer a morally ambiguous RPG, it's unfair to knock Bioware for KotoR on that count. George Lucas created Star Wars as a classic fantasy tale of good vs. evil, and he left little to no room for characters that weren't good or evil (all of the apparently neutral characters - like Han Solo - eventually show themselves to be good or evil). If KotoR had been created with more room for neutral characters, it wouldn't have stayed true to its source material. Perhaps KotoR would have been a better game, but it wouldn't have been a good Star Wars game.

This. There is no Gray Side in the Star Wars universe. KotOR fit pretty well as a Star Wars narrative in that regard.

But they did make Jade Empire...

Is it really that bad? I recently picked it up for $5, but I haven't installed it yet. I think I paid more than that for Summoner way back when, and JE can't be less of a RPG than Summoner, right?

It's not that bad. It was ridiculously over-hyped when it came out, but for what it is, it's not a bad game at all, as long as you don't expect it to be The Greatest RPG Ever Made, or something ridiculous like that.

For a company's "Worst" game, Jade Empire isn't that bad either.

"...Its Bioware so the story and gameplay should be solid."

BAHAHAHA! You're funny! ...oh wait... you're serious?

When hasn't that been true?

Bioware didn't make KotOR 2 or NWN 2, remember.

Come on Rob, everyone knows it's World of Starcraft. Just announced it

But ... we haven't done any of our splash screens yet! We can't announce a new game without splash screens. Don't you like the splashes?

Bats if you still have the CD keys, you can register them on Blizzard's site and then download the games directly
Found this out when I reinstalled Diablo 2 yesterday. So I just found the rest of them and registered them.

Downloads of Diablo II are finally available? I've been waiting for that to reinstall it. Yay!
