The Gothic series is one of the best RPG series IMHO. However, the problem I have with it is the massively horrible support for gamers in the US. I played to the end of Gothic and could not finish the game because of a bug...going back to a previous save did not help. I'm playing though Gothic II right now, and I notice there is a German patch out...but nothing for the US players. I notice that GII has the same nasty combat and dumb stuff like bad grammar and subtitles that still have the actor instructions in them. GII was distributed by ATARI in the US. One would think they would hold JoWooD accountable to the bring the US game to the same standard as the German version. This whole thing with Gothic pisses me off because of the lack of marketing and support in the US. It's a shame too, because the Gothic series has GREAT atmosphere and it's a game where what you do matters. Gothic has REAL consequences for what you say and do and that's a good thing.

I wonder how DI and EA feel about that statement? I mean cheaters suck, but it still equals players and players equal sales (in most cases). Is a permanent ban on cheaters going to hurt business and be bad PR for EA and DI?

So does this fix the sloppy code and piss-poor performance? I didin't see anything like that in the patch notes.

I also like how he takes a condescending attitude toward those that have "budget end" video cards. I have a 9600 Pro and it runs every other game I have just fine. Gamers should not have to spend $500 bucks on a card to run a two year old game at 1024x768. Who authorized this tool to do an interview anyway? What a PR nightmare for Gearbox.
