His excuse makes no sense and smacks of hypocrisy. He says he doesn't want companies to 'play politics' with ad dollars, so he decides to play politics about which shipping company he uses, based entirely on the fact that that they boycotted someone over politics...

UPS was fine spending their money on Fox until enough of their customers complained about the types of crap they were putting their dollars behind. That's how advertiser boycotts work. I'd love to see him explain if the Montgomery Bus Boycott was too polarizing...

I'd also bet money that he's full of crap, and his TV is tuned to Fox quite a bit, otherwise it would be a non-issue for him.

I'll tell you what. I'll speak with my dollars too. I'll buy games from Steam or Direct2Drive.

that might be valid if they hadn't already released that stuff for Half Life 2 which uses the same engine...

I don't get the Valve hate lately. Their one of the best community supporters out there, and they just get crapped on nonstop lately. I guess it's a sign that school is out for the summer.

LOL I find it highly ironic that this company can use the name Bad Brains, and the actual band that invented the name in the 80's Bad Brains, due to legal reasons, had to change their name to Soul Brains.

Epic has said many times that there will be a 10 dollar rebate that will be in the box for UT2k3 owners. They even confirmed it a few days ago on the Atari forums.

I pre-ordered the DVD SE for 40 dollars.

This game is fun. Some people won't like it but you know what? You can't please everyone all the time. I think BF Vietnam will suck, so there.

We don't need a "next counter-strike".

I tried Omega Drivers one time and they made my whole system unstable. Never felt the need to use them again.

I have an Asus 9600XT and I'm not seeing the overdrive tab in these new 4.1's. Other than taht though, the driver seems totally fine. My Wolfenstein ET is working again.

it's just a free mod someone made. you don't have to act like such jerks about it...

it's fun and hard to make mods, and thats why people call it amateur. It's not all going to be a professionally built game using a whole team.

criticism is fine as long as you keep it constructive. You don't have to be a dick about it.

What makes you think you are correct about the engine? I haven't seen any real technical specs on it, other than it supports PS2.0. How do you know what the poly count is? You don't.

How do you know it "kept the LIMITS of HL1". That is a statement you can't back up. Show me some proof it kept the limits of HL1. You can't. Because all that is out there is a leaked alpha copy with E3 demo levels in it.

FYI. From the E3 levels I checked out, it easily beat Quake 3 in poly-count... If you don't beleieve me just check out the "Beach" maps... And that is an unfinished leaked alpha..

And if you want to get technical then the new Doom 3 engine isn't completely new either. And neither was the Quake 3 engine. As was mentioned. Engines are rarely written "from scratch" these days.

Dagok you just helped me illustrate something else about 3dR that I disliked.

They tried (and successfully did to most people) to take credit for Max Payne. They published it and came up with the name. Remedy coded the engine and built the game. 3DR had nothing to do with the actual game being made.

Think before *you* speak...

I remember a couple of years ago they said Duke's multiplay would be a "TF style" game... Seems they can't think of *anything* original...

I like how 3DR stole the "when it's done" line from id Software... Kinda like how they stole all Duke's one-liners from Army of Darkness and They Live.

These guys are a joke. The last game they made was for DOS. They haven't even released a game since the proliferation of 3d acceleration cards... That speaks volumes.

From what I've heard from true "inside sources" is that the leaked beta was simply the E3 beta shown last year. Nothing more, nothing less.

I.E. Valve is working on making the system more stable so they can finally release HL2...

I still think the reason HL2 got delayed was more because of Steam than anything game-related...

Man I enjoyed the hell out of Sin as well. This really sucks...

I guess you can't publish a game these days unless it's a Counter-Strike or BF1942 clone.

You all are talking about it like you've played the full game

Someone said "Xboxers think it's dumbed down"... Which Xbox gamers? IT's not out yet! And there is no demo for the xbox. So how in the hell are "xboxers" able to comment on it?

If it sucks then it sucks. But some of you are just assuming it does because thats where the bandwagon is rolling.

I play both Quake 3 and RTCW:ET and I've never had a problem with punkbuster. Sometimes Quake 3 will take like 3 mintues to update it's datafile, but other than that, it's np.

So they are basically accusing their paying customers of being pirates. Even go so far as to imply we all steal nero as well... Fuck them. Vote with your dollar and don't buy their games.
