As I've said before, I'm a gamer, and I don't limit myself to one platform. If it's awesome, I want to play it...

In addition to a pc, I've owned a 2600, a nes, a genesis, a ps1, an atari jaguar (egad!), a dreamcast, a gamecube, a 360, a GBA, and a DS.

Why limit yourself to one platform?

It was all in jest, well not the plank walking! Mwahaha
I really don't care what kind of game anyone plays or what platform, just seemed funny to tease you about it. Personally, I don't believe in proprietary crap like console only any more than PC only. The only real world downside is getting sales keeps douches like rockstar from developing for all platforms.

I've only ever tried a console a couple of times. Once for original Halo at release(lazy aiming was nauseating), Boxing (beat a veteran, first time I played cause I blocked and he didn't) and some sexy golf game. The mechanics are too prehistoric for me to really enjoy myself. I was weened on Coop and deathmatch lan, from back in the serial cable and termination resistor days.

Westworld... I might have spoken too soon on MIB. I've just seen a new theory about Maeve not being in William's timeline. I haven't been able to check. Also, I did see the preview where Lawrence, Dolores, William and Logan are together.

I'll let you guys know how awesome it is!

I'm sure it will be, but it's Rockstar's loss ultimatively.

Is it?

They're the ones with the full knowledge of how much it would take to build, test, market and launch the game for the PC at the same time as consoles, as well as with a strong understanding of how much money they'd make for having done that.

This is just a small group of PC gamers going "well, they won't get my $60."

I'd wager it's more the loss of people who only game on one platform than anything else.
Maybe you could have gotten away with that theory 10-15 years ago, but the statistical is now available. m$ is now claiming they love PC and trying to make all their games available on both. Sony is slowly but finally coming around, offering their some of their biggest console only titles to monthly subscribers.

Btw eRe4s3r remember ... Bernard's line during Skype? Think the direct quote is “tough to get a line out here,”

This seems to completely discount your theory.

Westworld....It might be obvious but just in case there is any doubt, the MIB can't be William. Dolores interacts with Bernard, who wasn't at the park 30 years ago (established by Ford and Bernard, episode 1). Not only that but Dolores then has gone on to interact with William and Logan current time (well what I consider current, starting precognition).

My theory of location if it's taking place during the 21st century, is the moon. As Jonathan slipped during a behind the scenes, then his wife Lisa got all snarky with him. There's no way we could colonize much less travel easily to Mars this century. It would also, explain why they keep complaining about Flies. They complain, because there shouldn't be any. So they must be someplace, in a wide open WORLD, where there are no flies. So it's not like it's some clean room that has an infestation, it must be much larger scale, a world. The only world(like) near enough to possibly travel without too much trouble in 50 years, is the Moon.

That seems like a huge logical jump ;p Imo it can just as well be underground on Earth. This would explain their water problem fairly well...
Maybe but why would it be a surprise and discussions about it being an infestation if it's under earth? It's seems most logical they would absolutely follow if they are under earth. Because they are already localized.

It's definitely 'down' somewhere. When he opens the door, walks in, then you can see the door close and elevator going down.

Think I see what your saying ViRGE, but not sure I fully follow. My biggest problem is I don't play any of these games. I never touch anything to do with VAC or competitions. I don't see any economy other than dlc, which no other developer/publisher is required to monitor for trading, anywhere in the world.

Don't get wrong, I've got no dog in this fight. Except the small selfishness of not seeing Valve dragged into some massive global class action suit, for invasion of privacy. Mainly because it would probably effect/affect Steam in a very negative way. Especially in the long run, not to mention potentially, in very scary ways.

Hell, if Techland would pull their head out of their asses i.e. stop manipulating their games to prevent modding so they can exploit DLC. They could have already finished their Hexen/Heretic Coop game and moved on to the Western. Especially considering Westworld and it's global success and appeal, the western is and will be, even more in demand.

Don't get it, what specifically is/can Valve do? Remember Valve can't give or use personal or private information in anyway that would comprise privacy agreements when dealing with State, Federal and International laws. Not to mention Valve's own privacy agreements.

I still haven't seen a single suggestion Valve could do that won't jeopardize them, leaving Valve open for class action suits, globally.

Westworld musings:

bernard is probably a robot. the whole episode was one long meditation on the nature of consciousness, memory and personality, culminating in his discussion with dr. ford, which immediately segues into his call with his wife about his own past, his memories, his personality anchors. the way the whole thing is arranged is screaming, 'this is how our robots are made, here is an example one of one.'

also, those dudes that fucked up teddy at the end, they were probably guests since he tried to shoot them and they wouldn't die. i wonder if that was part of ford's new story.
Hope your wrong about Bernard...maybe it's out of selfishness but I really like the idea that there's compassion for the hosts from at least one human in the show. Just as William is the only real white hat atm, the show needs at least one even if these are the extremes of balance. It allows us to measure our range of humanity depicted on the show.

I bet your correct about Teddy, but you left off the biggest reason, Marti. Shes a guest and she couldn't hurt them either.

Wow, bet that sandwich would be awesome, hold the meat! Winkrazz
Wonder if you can get grilled eggplant and portabella mushrooms, mozzarella and artichoke hearts, instead. Damn, now I'm hungry, but at least I know what kind of sammich to make! Ooh, sourdough! Chef Drool

Westworld, so far none of the reviews....even realize the voice, literally became her own voice. They apparently still think it was a male god voice, weird. Also, I'm pretty sure the host killed himself to save, Elsie from his inner voice. Not sure what they are talking about here.

Hoping it is something new and not a remake. Also hoping for a HUGE SP campaign like RDR or GTA style. Co-op lately in these games has been tertiary for me. Cheating has ultimately ruined MP gaming.
Mind if I ask what games? I've mostly stuck to Dead Island and Dying Light style games. Private servers, we generally only play with friends and/or using the same modifications. I never use VAC servers, is that where the cheating happens?

Would love a Western Coop RPG in the same vein as Dead Island or Dying Light!

I know most of you guys have played GTA5 Coop, does rockstar respect the Main Storyline as Coop? Please don't give us this retarded Coop (Far Cry 3), where you can only do special or select maps. If not does 2K have any good Coop games, since I think at the end of the day, 2K makes the final call.

Westworld... Damn, that was a shit ton of answers and rolled up in a bundle of awesome! Lighter

So do you think Ed Harris' character is Anthony Hopkins old buddy/coworker? He wants to find the maze, which we see at the preview at the end that Hopkins is telling someone about.

Absolutely I do, how awesome is that! I probably shouldn't have watched that very first preview(chestnut preview 1:30 long), since it gave away a huge MIB line about whether he was a villain or not. Blue posted a science-y report a couple of weeks back: when you see some spoilers it helps you feel a more connected and I still do.
Also, did you see/hear her go sentient? Her inner voice became HER own! Cake W00t

I need to watch the new preview again. I thought he was telling Dolores about the maze. As if there's a huge ass convergence happening, part intentionally (Ford) and partly by accident (Bernard). I got creeped out at that scene because I thought Ford caught Bernard and was threatening his wife. Also, how the hell will Dolores ever be able to stand up to Ford, that scene is going to freak me the fuck out!

I actually bought RDR for PS3, got to Mexico before I stopped playing, gamepad aiming is just too aggravating for me.

I'm ashamed to admit it but I played the entire game (and the amazing undead nightmare addon) with the autoaim at its highest setting.

Correct me if I'm wrong but hasn't R* claimed that the code for RDR was a horrid mess and that it would literally take years to fix it up enough just to port it to PC?
Personally, I would trust rockstar at all. I'm guessing that quote came before they got bought out? Hell, I bet PC GTA5 had a much different design document, before 2K bought them. rockstar has been nothing but a bunch of dicks to PC gamers over the years, but 2K is in charge now and they don't play that shit.
