"While this does look interesting without a no strings attached free trial I'll have to pass.

Anyone know if they are planning to make one available?"

14-day free trials to City of Heroes are still available, I believe, although I doubt there will be one for City of Villains anytime in the near future.

*flush*

It always sounded more like a console-type game to me, anyways. Either way, it'll probably suck, and suck hard. Has there ever been a really good remake of a classic game? I can't think of any. :/

Come on, who's going to step up and say, "Is this the patch that..."?!?!!

Seriously, does anyone play this? One of my friends is thinking about trying it and I've been doing my best to convince him that it sucks. I need some ammo!

This spokesman is quite reasonable, indeed! I like it.

Don't these politicians have something better to do? I mean, seriously, our troops are dying overseas and somehow they find the need to spend their time worrying about some stupid sex minigame you have to 'hack' to see in a six-month old game? If your kid is smart enough to download the mod from the Internet and apply it, he's also smart enough to download hardcore porn.

I had a similar problem with the nVIDIA IDE driver; my machine would reboot itself at the same time during the startup process - during the cycling blue bar. It wouldn't happen every time, but it certainly happened enough to become extremely annoying. After removing the nVIDIA IDE driver, the problem disappeared.

If you play this before playing HL2, the graphics seem decent, if not just a bit dated. If you play it after playing HL2, the graphics are ass-y. The story may kick ass, but I'm unfortunately a graphics wh0re.

Oh, and what's with games making you restart 'em when changing resolutions? UGH! It's crap like that that make Vampire feel so unpolished.

I can't see this one getting very far in court. Way to go, Marvel, you now look like an asshat to all your fans.

The only bug I've seen is that sometimes, certain objects will become 'locked'; my sims can't use them (they try to, but they just stand there looking silly) and I can't delete them. It seems to happen quite often to the dartboard.

... of all this release speculation. Just release the game, or don't, I really couldn't care less anymore.

Yeah, I tried it last night too. After about 5 minutes of trying to kill people that wouldn't die, I gave up and started the single player campaign again. Ah, bliss.

I guess if there is no subscription charge, some people may play it, but...

"While the great seafaring nations like Spain or England making alliances or are at war you will rival in sword fights and thrilling sea battles with other human adventurers."

Hrm.

Oh, according to the FAQ:
"After the beta test, everyone can download the client for free and test the game for a while. Then after some time you have to pay montly for access to the game server, but more exact information is not available at this time."

From the OMG Department...

"Intel did not disclose the price of the Pentium 4 Extreme Edition. It likely will be as expensive as its counterpart, the 2.8GHz Xeon with 2MB cache. That chip sells for $3,692 in quantities of 1,000."

So much for me upgrading.
