>StarCitizen is currently 4th on the list and the game is nowhere even near completion.

That list is pretty interesting. SWTOR takes the cake at 200m and since that's an MMO with an emphasis on a SP campaign (SO THEY SAID, MF'rs, 6 games in one hunh?! #@$@#$) so if SC is going in that direction they can gather a lot more money before it's going to release.

Desinty's an interesting item, that definitely came out feeling like half a game but it was a pretty good game and with a lot of extra content coming since release seems to have become a well rounded game. (sort of like battlefront) It's a weird co-op / mmo hybrid though at 140 million. Maybe it will take more to implement SC as pitched.

The third item is GTA V which is a great game! And it has a whole SP campaign plus a seperate MP game which SUUUUCCCCKKKKKEEEEEDDD at launch! So SC is looking just like GTA V! We're looking great! Best selling game of all time (I think? It's a fucking monster)

That is mostly sarcasm, I hope the project is going to turn out well and what they're showing looks amazing but the technical side of pulling all these parts together into one working game that will be online seems too demanding for todays internet and computers. The size and scope of these ships in a SP game is possible but trying to put them in an online space where you can run into almost any ship at any time is nuts. Most game that offer that have to load you into different games to show you the inside of the ship, inside of a base, inside of a space station, surface of a planet, etc. you can theoretically have that all loaded in memory but we're talking about a shit ton of data loaded into RAM so it can be used instantly and who knows what's thats going to do for framerates with multiple idris' attacking a javelin or a Bengal and having dozens if not hundreds of players involved in dozens of different ships.

The amount of data that needs to be in RAM for all that to happen instantly, spur of the moment, is WAY past what anyone else is doing and I'd guess it's going to be at least 32GB of RAM, no idea what the video cards will use or need.

Am I wrong on how this works? A typical video game on my Win 10 pc uses between 2-4gb of ram, normally never goes above 4. But if you wrap multiple "games" into SC like this then you're going to double, triple or quadruple that footprint...right?

These internal projections only go as far as Dec 8th!?

How about the projected date for sq42? Or just the next 13 months in general?

The game continues to look amazing but the timelines of when well be able to actually play this game never seem to get clearer.

I've come close to buying this several times and the price keeps holding me back. I think u can get it on Amazon for 20% off as a prime member but I still can't pull the trigger.

I went and watched a twitch stream of it and it didn't make difference. I can't help feeling like this is another rebooted sim city. The graphical style they went with leaves me wondering when the iPad release us going to be.

Hopefully that single chapter they want to take to full quality will be something they can share by bathe end of the year.

Just finished uncharted 4 which was fantastic. With all the mo cap CIG did I'm excited to see some of the FPS stuff in game. Hopefully it will be awesome.

As long as funding keeps coming I guess they can do what they like. Would be nice to see something get finished but if it's not done and people will put more money in then so be it.

Bought the season pass for Battlefront on PS4 when it went on sale for $33. That combined with the core game finally makes Battlefront feel like a $60 game. (I bought the game for about $35 at launch with some deals I found)

I think I'll wait on this one until this time next year. Seems like all these games, Call of Duty, Battlefront, Battlefield, are all way over priced at launch and even at a fair price, $30 to $40, they still feel incomplete. I'll wait until you can buy the game and season pass for $60 or less and then I'll give it a shot.

Tried to beat the rush and get my phone replaced yesterday by verizon, took them just over an hour to figure out how to do it.

If anyone else is struggling with the process they do a straight return on your old one then sell you a new one. (old charges go back on your payment card, you get charged again for new one)

They said the process is supposed to be explained today better but I doubt it. Hate dealing with the stores, online only is the way to go.

News Comments > Battlefield 1 Open Beta Ends Thursday

The gameplay is really good, just like Battlefield 1942 when it came out. Too many great vehicles, the walk and jump animations are excellent! I hope to get rank 15 and 5 games in order to achieve beta user badge.

It really does feel like 1942 at times. It's been a long time since we've seen large open maps where you can literally just walk for miles and run into nothing. 1942 had large sections like that so many times you went out of your way to find a vehicle before leaving a checkpoint.

The nature of the weapons also leads to a lot more interesting shooting mechanics. A lot more situations where you have to hope for the best because things aren't that accurate or reliable.

I'd like to see how the rest of the maps play, this one was fun but I'm concerned that many of the maps won't follow this one's setup. I'll check it out at launch on twitch or youtube.

Had a lot more fun on the PS4 as well, might have to look for a discounted ps4 copy or maybe I should just plan on picking it at a redbox for a few days.

A major drawback from getting into this game is the season pass though. The way the season pass has played out with the battlefront game leaves me unhappy. I'd rather they continue to add maps and let us spend money on cosmetic things. Those new playable classes that come with the expansions are a perfect example, add stuff like that for making money, add maps to keep people playing the game.

Never sits right when they release new maps for money.

BF1 beta? Hunh, so weird that these beta's have shown up without me seeing any advance advertising on them. First Titanfall 2 now this, am I the only one that hasn't heard about these until they start?

Not planning on buying BF1 at this point but I'll give it a look. I downloaded Titanfall 2...that part seemed fine. Never bothered to boot it up on the ps4. Watched someone play it for about 5 min and just thought, oh...ok. Yeah i think I got it.

Reading the steam reviews seems to indicate this is a pass for me. Most helpful reviews all say not recommended. Have to get to number 6 people someone says recommended.

$49.99 is also way too much in my opinion. Nice to see it comes with MOO 1 - 3 though, I'll wait for a summer sale.

Doesn't "Aug lives matter" fit all to well? The story is about augmented people not being treated as human or worse...? Assuming Aug lives matter is said seriously in the game that seems ok. Assuming black lives matter accomplishes something people would Co opt in the future for their own cause.

My dad has Tmobile and everytime I ask him to look something up on the internet he sits there staring at his phone wondering why it won't work.

Tmobile's internet network reminds me of Att's mobile network when they overloaded it with iphone users in that initial rush.

Att might be ok at this point but both Sprint and Tmobile are way overpriced for what you get and Verizon has been rock solid for as long as I've been a subscriber.

Verizon might have the higher price but the service works as expected. I cringe when I think about using ATT during that time period where the network barely functioned yet the monthly price stayed the same. I think my dad is about ready to jump ship and go to verizon. He's even under a discount offered through HP / Tmobile but if the service doesn't work when you need it then it's not worth any price.

If you're thinking about using Tmobile be sure to plan on testing it for 30 days. Don't get rid of your old service until you've seen it in action for a week or two and it's reliable. I'm sure it's fine in places but congestion doesn't show up on those coverage maps...

The US Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of California has published a press release, explaining that 28-year old Stephen Cebula had sent messages to Blizzard at the beginning of July, stating that he “may or may not pay [Blizzard] a visit with an AK47 amongst some other ‘fun’ tools” and “might be inclined to ‘cause a disturbance’ at [Blizzard’s] headquarters (pictured) in California with an AK47 and a few other ‘opportunistic tools.’”

Good! Fucking great in fact. Do that. Do a lot more of that.

Twitter should spend more time trying to track down and punish people who say shit like this. I assume it was on twitter. May have been direct to Blizzard via the game or the forums. Sadly banning people like Milo seems to be their priority.

The civ video's they're putting up are definitely scratching the Civ itch for me, I installed civ V again and am playing that. If they offered beta access to play the game right now I might even buy in.

Very interested to see how this one turns out. It feels like a step down ... I hope that's in my head...

Actually, that is Cutter's argument. That if it's $5 in Cambodia it should be $5 in Canada, or if it's $50 in Canada it should be $50 in Cambodia.

Thanks to the Internet it is $5 and $50 in Canada and Cambodia. Living in Canada if you can find a code for $5 then the lowest cost available is $5.

If you don't want people in canada to buy from people in Cambodia then buy a ship and go cut up some deep sea cables so we can't talk to each other over the internet. Otherwise adapt.

I don't see why G2A is worse than ebay. If I have a key that will work in North America for a game and I want to sell it I can go to places like ebay or g2a.

I paid for the key and I'm selling it...what's the big problem?
Did you not read the article? G2A requires NOTHING tangible that can actually link back to the seller. It use to be you only needed a simple throw away email address and you could sell as much as you want on G2A. That's why all the fraud happened there. You'd contact G2A they'd say we'll contact the seller and no one would contact them back and their only info on the seller is a dead email account.

They want to say they improved, by requiring a facebook or a russian facebook equivalent and a phone number? That's absolutely not good enough. You can buy a burner phone and make a fake facebook account easily. So nothing has really changed.

This isn't about you selling your extra humble bundle keys you bought, this is about if you were selling a bunch of keys you bought with stolen CC#s then selling them at G2A cause their security for checking the sellers is so lax that no one would notice till you were long gone.

The scammers are doing this for money...right? So G2A has something very tangible that leads back to a person, a financial transfer of some sort. If I pay $5 for a key the idea is, I assume, G2A transfers that to the seller in some way. (Like Paypal?)

My guess is that the effects on the users themselves is so minor that G2A probably hasn't needed to do anything up to now. There may be a lot of users complaining but I haven't seen that.

G2A doesn't need to do anything if their customers are happy. If the developers would start revoking codes that are linked to fraud you'd probably see G2A customers getting upset and then they'd have reason to make changes.

I'm sure Cutter practices what he preaches. When he goes out for a Thai meal of Panang curry, rice, and spring rolls, and the bill comes in for $20, he leaves $2, since "Charging some people a lot more and some a lot less depending on where they live for the same meal is really scummy.." and $2 is what it costs in Thailand.

If he goes to Thailand then it's $2...no?

This is supply and demand, people are going to where the price is lowest. Nobody is arguing that you should be able to go to best buy down the street and buy a copy of whatever for $5.

If someone has a code for the game I want and only wants $5 for it then why am I going to pay best buy $50 instead of buying the code for $5?

That code might be bullshit, the guy selling it might be a crook and that is a risk I might be willing to take.

Cars are a good example of this. You go to a high cost area to buy a car you're going to pay a premium. You go find that same car 100 miles away in less populated area you can save a lot of money just buying it there instead.

You could probably save even more buying it in Thailand but then you have to deal with transport as well. Doesn't volkwagen or some company have some crazy offer where you go to their factory on a mini vacation and buy a car and end up saving money vs buying it from a dealership in the US? (even after shipping it back?)

Sounds like many smaller devs have very little anti fraud protection in place for CC transactions. That's never going to cut it. Pointing the finger at sites like G2A is a cop out. You need to vet your buyers more carefully. That's why CC companies pass back harsh fees on charge backs. CC fraud might as well be a cost of doing business now for online stores. In retail stores I think this was called shrinkage. The expected loss from theft was 10% no matter what you did, you just had to plan on losing that.
