I've stopped using Steam until they fix their European pricing. Right now all they're doing is switching the $ with a €. For example World of Goo will cost me €20 ($28) on Steam. The price on the official World of Goo site is $20. Strange stuff.

In addition to the awful currency conversion (if you can call it that) they're also adding VAT on top of many of the prices, when VAT isn't even required for digital purchases made in Norway, so I guess I'm doubly screwed.

Awesome. I'm definitely getting JA2 later this month, when I'm done with all of my exams.

I was actually pretty optimistic about Fallout 3 when the first details about it was released, but then after seeing the gameplay videos and getting more info I got pessimistic. When I bought it my expectations were low, but the game is actually a pretty good action game.

Problem is, it just didn't give me the same "feeling" the originals gave me. I hope some of the fan made mods can fix the shortcomings of the vanilla version of Fallout 3.

I just finished playing through the first campaign with a friend of mine. It's a lot of fun (and very intense). I'll hopefully be able to get some more friends to join in on the fun later this week.

I haven't tried playing with random people, but I think you'll get the most out of this game by playing with friends that you know will stick with the team.

Left 4 Dead is one of the best coop/online gaming experience I've had in quite some time.

I like the game. RvR is awesome, and I'm really looking forward to the end-game keep battles. I think the sound is pretty good.

They took down the account manager yesterday, so I had to make a yahoo-mail account and register again on their website in order to get my CD key associated with an account. Luckily I managed to do it before they totally messed up the registration...

(I had to do that because my account, which I registered a looong time ago on their site, didn't follow the new password formatting rule. It just wouldn't allow me to use that password while registering the CD key.

The European WAR site is ALL flash by the way. And here I thought having flash-sites stopped being cool in 2002...

Seems to me that GOA are clueless...

No DirectX = Easier to port games to a non-microsoft OS

Well. Hopefully.

(Though there are other hurdles that can get in the way. So maybe not.)

I remember playing Under a Killing Moon and The Pandora Directive. I quite liked them back then. I'm guessing this one won't be a FMV-game like the previous ones, though

I got most of my Pyro achievements from playing normally. The medic ones are the worst of the bunch in my opinion. These heavy achievements seems to be similar in style to the Pyro achievements.

Iron Kurtain: Take 1000 points of damage in a single life. Achieved by playing normally
Show Trial: Kill an enemy with a taunt. Meh...
Redistribution of Health: Heal 1000 damage with med-kits in a single life. Achieved by playing normally
Rationing: Kill an enemy with your shotgun while you're out of minigun ammo. Achieved by playing normally
Soviet Block : While invulnerable and on defense, block an invulnerable enemy Heavy's movement. Achieved by playing normally
Photostroika: Provide an enemy with a freezecam shot of you taunting while invulnerable. Not sure I would taunt instead of continuing to shoot
Rasputin: In a single life, get shot, burned, bludgeoned, and receive explosive damage. Achieved by playing normally, albeit probably rare?
Konspicuous Konsumption: Eat 100 sandviches. Achieved by playing normally (if it's replacing the shotgun as rumored)
Crock Block: Survive a direct hit from a critical rocket. Achieved by playing normally
Krazy Ivan: Kill 100 enemies while both you and your victim are underwater. Probably a cp_well thing, just like one of those Pyro achievements. But meh... I haven't been much in the water when I've played heavy

Haha, well this thread developed just like every other thread on bluesnews Personally I'm looking forward to seeing what BioWare can do with the Star Wars (old republic) universe in a MMO, seeing as their last SW game was pretty damn awesome.

I'm not a SW "geek", so I'm not sure, but didn't they pretty much invent a lot of the (now official) SW lore for that time period while making KOTOR? Feel free to bludgeon me to death if I'm wrong.

I had a pretty good time playing the first Dungeon Siege in coop mode, but for some reason I never liked DS2. Coop in these kind of games is a must for me. I had lots of fun playing Diablo 2, Titan Quest, DS in coop mode with my friends

From the IGN preview (http://pc.ign.com/articles/876/876929p1.html)

Rather than go for the over-the-top action route of EA's SSX, Shaun White Snowboarding (or SWS) shoots for realism.

Awesome. Hope it's good as I can't stand Amped2/SSX. Amped was a bit better, but it was still a snowboard game somewhat in the "tony hawk's pro skater"-mould

I'm in closed beta. I had major crash/performance problems a few months ago, but the latest client has fixed all of that for me. It's very much playable now (well, for me at least). My highest level character was level 29, so I didn't get to see much of the world. It got more fun once you get out of Tortage, though

I wasn't in the beta before they revamped the combat system. If I understand correctly, the way it worked before was that you executed your combos just like in for example street fighter. Now you click the combobutton and then the direction. I kind of liked the old system (on paper). Did any of you play in beta back when it was still in? Which of the two do you prefer?

None of the Elder Scrolls games had demos as far as i can remember, and neither did Fallout 1 or 2.

IIRC, I remember playing a Fallout demo sometime back in the 90's. I may be wrong, though. My memory is hazy
