So, as someone who loved KotOR and KotOR II, is this worth delving into as a single player experience? I have zero interest in the MMO part of it, but I wouldn't mind revisiting the world if I can do it on my own.

The rock climber in me has a really hard time with this game existing, but I can't quite put my finger on why. I don't know, maybe it's that when I watch this it just feels like cheating to me.

Also, for it to be realistic I need motion controllers on my feet as well. Maybe rename it The Climb: Campus Edition?

So, in terms of open world shennanigans, would the money be better spent on Metal Gear Solid V instead of Just Cause 3?

I'm bummed you can't do any personalization on the Delorean, but come on....it looks fantastic as-is.

The wheels rotate down and ignite while you're doing an aerial, that really makes up for it in my book.

Edit: Broke the quote

I stumbled onto this game a couple of weeks ago. I didn't move for six hours after I started playing.

Then I bought all of the DLC (which I never do) just to support them.

If you don't own this yet it should be the first thing you buy during Steam's Winter Sale.

Rather than read that, I'll just go with the GeForce experience settings to start, and then turn things up from there. It's time to make my new 970 work.

It took me 30 minutes to pre-load, and now it's sitting on my drive and I can't play it. And I have a shiny new GTX 970 that needs a workout.

Is it Tuesday yet?

I'm still interested, but I'm tired of the DLC/Season's Pass that everything has attached to it now. I'll wait until I can buy the whole game at a nice, comfortable price.

I've been itching to play this since I got my hands on it at PAX East. Hopefully I'll get into the beta.

I'm planning on picking up a 970 in the next month or so and was waiting for the new game bundle to be announced - unfortunately I have no interest in either game.

I've never played any of the Assassin's Creed games, and I only have vague recollections of playing a Rainbow Six game somewhere in the distant past. Does one clearly stand above the other?

The first setup question Shelter asked me was if I wanted to allow notifications. This alone blew my mind, as most games don't even allow you to turn them off, let alone ask you at the start!

I have a strict policy that requires me to uninstall any app that pushes notifications without my approval or ability to turn off. Bethesda will get money from me simply for asking the question.

So does Season 1/2/3 loot actually drop in normal gameplay now (or at least 1/2 and 3 once 23rd is over? I didn't follow this in-depth...

Yes. Only the active seasons' loot is gated for seasonal characters. I thought I'd hate seasons, but it turns out that's all I've been playing since they started. I enjoy focusing on one class for the duration since I'm usually constantly switching between classes in games.

With that said, they still need to nail down the season length. Four months was too long, I haven't played in the last six weeks or so. I'm thinking 3 months would be roughly ideal, but I'm not sure they'll be able to keep the patches coming out at that pace.

That's the typical cycle now. A season ends, the patch goes live (Tuesday), and then the new season starts on Friday.

What I've read so far gives me a lot of hope; the multiplayer seems to be fast-paced arena style with an emphasis on movement. I am truly excited for this, I've missed the dance-style firefights where your ability to dodge and aim were both critical to winning the fight.

2. Re: Diablo III Patched Apr 7, 2015, 20:17 Bucky

I kind of wish Season 3 would start now, I don't want to wait until Friday. I try to roll a different class each season, for this one I'm going to try Demon Hunter. It's my least played and least liked class by far, so I'm going to force myself to play it extensively and see if I can get into the playstyle.

Edit: Damn, 10GB plus a file system change. I mistakenly installed D3 on my SSD when it first came out and never moved it, now I'm glad I didn't. At least the file system conversion was quick.

I'll come back to titanfall when they take away map rotation and let me just play the only 2 or 3 good maps they made.

There's really only 2 or 3 bad maps, and only because they give the pilots nowhere to hide. The cat and mouse gameplay really breaks down, then. Zone 18 and Training Ground are good examples, but by far the worst map is Colony. That's the only map that will cause me to immediately leave the lobby.

Also, thus far Shadows of Mordor is my game of the year. I loved every second of it.

I agree on the GoTY part, but the 'boss' fights were pretty bad.

Thought it was 6v6, did they update it?

It's still 6v6. I play regularly, and matches are hectic enough without more people. 12v12 would be insane.

The 'problem' right now is that the skill ceiling for Titanfall is pretty high, so new players generally get stomped out of the gate. It reminds me a lot of Quake or Unreal in that sense. So, for anyone that's going to try it out, I leave you with two important pieces of advice: Never stop moving, and get off of the ground. I strongly recommend a private match with a friend to at least get a feel for wallrunning.

They still haven't figured out that one-shot-kill weapons that require little skill suck to play against. Granted, it keeps the skill ceiling nice and low and therefore everyone feels awesome, but it's still poor game design, IMO. Let's be honest here, the CoD series has always been designed this way; they're shooting galleries first, competitive matches second.

I backed ages and ages ago, and have ignored everything since. It's been so long I apparently had to migrate some data over.

That's all done now, and I'm pulling this down. However, there's a lot to download (I'm showing a 10+ GB download right now). I have no idea if this is related to the Arena Commander module or it's some other bits, but in any case I'll report back if I get a chance to check it out before going to work.
