My stance on the volcano article:
Ok, the article mentions that the yellowstone supervolcano erupts every 600,000 years and that when it erupts, it's devastation is the equivalent of a nuclear winter's.
The person who wrote this article must know nothing about volcanos, considering the fact that if this "supervolcano" does erupt every 600,000 years and every time the supervolcano erupts, it wipes out most of the life on earth, then anything more complex than a micro-organism wouldn't exist today. Humans, animals, and bugs are forms of life that have evolved over MILLIONS of years. Life can't evolve back into a human the second it is wiped out. Based on basic principles of evolution, it even takes much longer than 600,000 years. Therefore, one of (or both of) the author's statements above are incorrect and our cruddy lives will resume as normal.
Unless this is the second coming of Christ and god decides to kill us all.
