Up until 3 years ago, I was on a 28k connection (Hence my nick). I considered a ping time of 300 to be low. I don't know how I was so good at Doom and Quake 1 when everyone else was on broadband. 
Nvidia fucked up royally with the Geforce FX's. First it was the noisy 5600. Then it was the 128 bit memory bus bottleneck. Then came the shitty drivers and the benchmark cheating. Now Nvidia skimps on image quality so their cards will get more FPS then the Radeons.
My only complaint with ATi is that they are/were bundling HL2, not Doom 3. Oh well.

Why did Intel bother releasing the socket 478 prescotts if they knew they would run slower than the current northwoods? Why not just wait until socket 775?
The Liebermann company isn't a hoax (Maximumpc did a preview/review/analysis of the "Mach L 3.8" computer) but they are somewhat misleading with their products, especially the "PuRAM" and "SuperBIOS" bullshit. I wouldn't trust a startup company selling highly overclocked computers, let alone a company that has a cheesy website, made up technological names, and computers with the company's logo sculpted in rock on them.
I do believe however, that the sweepstakes to win one is a scam.

Can't go wrong with a coolermaster praetorian. It's a 7-slot all aluminum case with 2 80mm fans in the front, 1 in the back and 1 on top. It does come with a sliding mobo tray. Coolermaster sells side windows for it, but I have yet to see one in a store. The whole thing costs $125 at newegg.com.

If a child has the desire to kill people, it isn't a game or movies' fault. There is something seriously mentally wrong with them. Children naturally develope general morals up until around age 5. Unless the parents are sadistic, kids know right from wrong. There is not a shread of evidence that a game can brainwash or influence a kid to go on psychotic killing spree. Nuff said.

I wish they would bring back shareware. Demos these days are too small to get a sense of a game.
If I remember correctly, the game used "Kill the haitians" which wouldn't make it rascist because it targets a specific group of haitians, not all haitians. I bet the human rights stereotypes wouldn't give a damn if it said "Kill caucasians".

It could be a lot of things. Since your monitor is losing signal, my guess is that your power supply is too weak or its an overheating issue. I would consider a 300 Watt PSU minumum for your setup and at least 2 case fans.
Also: Check to make sure you have the latest video card drivers from ati.com (catalyst 3.9). Try turning off any unnesicary programs that are running while you play.

Consolers have it easy these days with their soft, ergonomic controllers. Damn whiners. The original NES controller would cripple your hands after a couple minutes.
