While this seems to have pissed a few people off, I'm just happy I can still play the map in custom games. Been having a lot of fun going up against bots playing the domination game mode.

Plot points? It's virtually the same fucking game every year. $150 a year for the same game? Lol! Fools and their money.

If you can name something better that I should be playing instead, something that hasn't put all its eggs in that multiplayer basket, I'm all ears mate.

I haven't been enjoying the BO2 campaign as much as the MW campaigns, but once again you can throw bots into multiplayer games, and zombie mode has a whole campaign now too, it's not just survival on a map or two.

So yeah, once again, that cd's packed full of stuff to do. By all means though, don't let such trivialities stop you from hating on it.

Um you realize this is a console game right? there has been no GFX upgrade to COD in this cycle and there wont be until the next gen console hits the market. Hell they even got busted using the exact same assets between games, and new gameplay modes? heh game hasnt changed since WaW, single player, multiplayer, zombies. Infact the only thing I can see that has been changing is the single player experience keeps getting shorter and shorter... You like the games great, enjoy, but dont BS yourself, it is what it is, assembly line video game production. BTW I bought and enjoyed WaW on the PS3.

What a load of shit.

Have you actually played the fucking game? You know, the one prerequisite that you'd think would have to be satisfied in order to be able to bag it?

I'm a few missions into the campaign, and the game looks great. I don't know how they do it, because I know it's the same engine, but it looks better than ever before, and it's light years ahead of WaW.

I have to go work now (as you do), but I'll be back. Oh, and the zombie mode has a campaign of its own now. Single player experience keeps getting shorter and shorter?

Guys, if you're going to bitch about something, know a bit about it first, eh?

I did hear they have Charles Barkley in the game at last. That peaked my interest somewhat, as he was my favourite way back when.

I could never handle how the 5 vs 5 basketball games played though, they were always so monotonous. 2 vs 2 or 3 vs 3 ala NBA Jam or Street is where it's at for me.

Wowzers, I haven't really gotten into the whole kickstarter thing, but I'd drop good money to play this game. Chris Taylor eat your heart out

I have to ask though, does Kickstarter really work? In this day and age I can understand why it exists, but are there any really good gaming examples where a game was created, fully funded, and then the project was delivered and it met expectations?

I'm just curious is all, but (certainly as a PC gamer at heart) it's starting to look like a site that really deserves a lot more of my attention.

Like most gamers these day there are things I miss about my earlier gaming years, and right up at the top of the list there's vanilla Everquest. What a game it was. There are things I'll just never forget, like spotting a Hill Giant from afar for the first time when myself and a couple mates made the trip from Qeynos to Freeport.

There's no way I'd ever pay for it again though, but it was the bees knees back then. Just about everyone that I'd met thanks to Quake 1 was playing it.

Never did get the original. Something about performing an action in February and it registering in-game in March just turned me off :/

Apparently the father of the couple that brought their 4 year old and 4 month old to the showing Confused chose to do a runner rather than try and save his family. I read on one of the reports that he jumped over the balcony because he was concerned his infant son's crying would have alerted the gunman to his position.

Like the article says though, it gets better, because after having escaped, he apparently just drove away from the scene. As you do.

What's even more amusing is that, at the hospital, he proposed to her and she said yes.

There's a marriage that's going to go the distance.

How can you say that bots on multiplayer maps creates a single-player experience? Last I saw, single-player games generally have, well, purpose other than to create an offline version of the online component....

Single player is just something you can play by yourself. You get that, right? Whether or not it's just a simulation of a game's multiplayer mode doesn't mean a damned thing.

You could probably count the number of people on the planet who played the BF3 campaign through completely from start to finish twice over on the one hand. They really fucking dropped the ball, but I'll bet this guy who left didn't make that call. It'd have come from higher up in a desperate attempt to compete with CoD.

The Battlefield franchise used to have so much character at the lans being able to fire up bot matches. They were stupid, sure, but trying desperately to hold a spawn point from dozens of bots approaching your position was a rush.

Such a pity.

Furthering that, somehow I missed something in the translation in that they considered the bot matches in BF2 (and prior) to be a single-player experience of sorts... Wtf

Haven't really been playing pc games for all that long, have you?

I bought BFBC2 and BF3 for the single player content, and I definitely wouldn't hire him. Call of Duty has been owning the Battlefield franchise in this department ever since they dropped bots from the feature list.

Such a pity.

I'm planning on upgrading to a phone that doesn't suck soon and it's pretty much come down to Apple vs Android.

Anyone have any advice? Some IRL friends have said Android, but I've been leaning towards Apple if just because I've had an Apple account for donkey's years and would be able to sync my huge game collection over to it.

Not that I'm really playing any of them anymore, to be honest, so that's neither here nor there.

Honestly, how did two first person, tactical/military-type series (Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon) evolve into 3rd person shitty Michael Bay action movies?

Because they sell more. A LOT more. You can make something tactical that might sell maybe 300,000 copies, or you go the arcadey route and potentially shift 5 million or more.

I get that it sucks, but I don't get why it's so surprising. We're outnumbered like a thousand to one.

a friend of mine commented that in solo games there should be a modifier to make dropped items slightly more in line with what your class could use.

I'm almost convinced that, as a way to force people to use the AH more, they have code in there that makes the drops less likely to be suitable for any of the active in-game classes. Almost convinced. Like, if Blizzard came out and admitted to it, I'd go "I fucking knew it!".

I hate using the AH. Can't stand it. But I got into the habit of doing it every 3-4 levels or so (like many others, I suspect) if just to pick up the highest DPS weapon I could find to help me progress. The difficulty really ramped up when I hit 60, however, and I figured that might've been because I was using stuff that says it required shit like level 42. Huh?

DG wrote on Jun 14, 2012, 14:50:
Only got halfway through Nightmare due to work pressures but if there's one thing annoying me it's the variability in difficulty.

Generally it's very easy, but with the very occasional near impossibility. I mean, 90% of the time progressing is boring and I don't go below 75% HP, even tanking bosses. Then there's the elites.

I quit the game about a week back with my Barb maybe halfway through Act 1 Inferno, and this will just get worse the more you progress. It's like night and day how you can go from casually taking care of whites to being raped by an elite in a split second. Never mind Earthquake, can I get their abilities? Here's a thought, mate, next time that arcane beam comes around, put your fucking shield up to greet it. Less than two seconds of direct contact with one of those gets me from full to dead, and I get the whole keep moving thing, but really, I'm so very tired of having to kite EVERYTHING.

I never got an email - you had a stardock login when you bought Sins Trinity (or the expansions). Login at Stardock and navigate to the Rebellion page and click "purchase". It will show you "$29.99". At least that's how it worked for me.

Yup, done and done. Pretty good deal, all things considered. Looking forward to building my first Titan class.

I have trinity, and definitely did not receive such an offer.

When I get home from work I'll try the website link and see if it's still valid though, because I'd like to take this opportunity to get me a version of the game on Steam.

And if for some reason you don't know what the cookie cutter spec is, here it is

Rather ironically, by recommending a spec that one "absolutely must adhere to", you're damn near confirming what I said. Doesn't absolutely having to pop both WotB and Earthquake for every semi-tough fight suggest there's a problem?

Each to their own, but it reads as broken to me, and going on the official forums, apparently a great many others too.

Finally! I can get some gear for my broken Barbarian, so he can maybe kill something in inferno without having to kite it to death, and it'll only cost me, what, $50?

Fuck you Blizzard. I wouldn't count on my being a customer of yours again anytime soon if I were you.

BTW, blizzard says repair costs could go up 600%.

With my Barbarian in Act 1 Inferno, I'd be fucked. I don't even think I'd break even.

I was fighting an elite last night, and he put one of those spinning beams down so close to me, I didn't see it until it activated. I went from 3/4 health to dead faster than you could snap your fingers. And I'm supposed to be a tank, if you can believe that. Cloth-wearing Wizards in MMOs last longer in combat than I do.

It's much the same with the mobs that spawn the fire on the floor, or have the fire chains that join them. Get anywhere near that shit, and if you don't move fast, you're gone. So what happens is that you end up with a game of kite and die, damaging them just a bit more each time, until you can finally take them out. If they healed up fully between each death of mine, I don't think I'd be able to get anywhere in this game.

What is it someone else said, 7 years in the making? How the hell did they miss this?
