Here's hoping the bluescreening issues with Win7 - 64 bit are resolved.

The great news is by the time it's available, we'll have Quantum computers.

Unfortunately that means the game will be both released, and not released.

These arguements all the same.

- You will never eliminate piracy on a game to 0. You can argue about it all you like, it will never go away.
- If something is free, your take rate is significantly higher than if there's even a marginal cost associated with it. (Telecommunications companies have an ocean of data on this).
- Your take rate on a product, once there is a charge, will continue to decline until you find a sweet spot of profit vs. sales.
- The way to decrease piracy and increase sales is to provide unique content that motivates someone to buy it rather than copy it.
- Pirate numbers != potential sales numbers. Anyone who says that isn't educated about economics or the retail market.
- Shitty products will sell poorly.
- Increased attempts to copy protect products make them less desirable to the market who is already purchasing, thereby reducing your client base.
- More consoles sales = less PC sales.

I like that they're improving Rock Band 2 but not reinventing the wheel. The list of changes pretty much addresses every gripe (including the minor ones).

Can't wait.

Make the same shit game for the Xbox 360 or PS3 and no one is going to buy it there either.

Microsoft also plans a promotion that will let buyers of Vista Ultimate get $50 copies of Home Premium for two other PCs.

What, no complaining? No griping? Microsoft gives you all a break on multiple copies and there's silence.

Microsoft is evil! Microsoft sucks!

What you should be asking yourself is what will Vista give me that XP does not. Right now the answer to that question is essentially less functionality though strict DRM enforcement and DirectX 10. Should you have to pay Microsoft for that when you have already bought XP?

Are you serious?

Why has it become so popular in recent years to dump on Microsoft and Windows?

Of course it has security flaws. When you have a few hundred thousand people world wide attempting to find flaws around the clock in the most used operating system in the world, you're going to find security flaws.

What does Vista give you that's better than XP?

Well the big one for me (since I've been using Vista in various beta forms and RC forms for months), is the lack of reboots.

- Install applications and update drivers, no more reboots.
- Hardware or driver crashes do not result in BSOD. Video card crashes, the HAL resets it and you go along your marry way. Try this the next time Oblivion locks your XP box.
- Security, security security. All these A/V companies complaining they don't have access to the Kernel. The whole reason 98 and ME were so unstable is all the terrible programming of all the software that gets installed. You don't get access to the Kernel because you don't need it.

Do some research. Vista is a great operating system and a much needed step up from XP (which is also a great O/S).

"- Realistic and manageable newtonian based physics/flight system. Thanks to the powerful inertial dampening system, you can make quick turns without the lengthy sliding found in many newtonian based physics flight models. Turn off the inertial dampening system if you want to drift unrestricted. Arvoch Conflict's physics system is designed to offer the benefits of both a traditional fast maneuvering 'arcade' type flight model and the diverse strategic combat tactics offered by a newtonian system."

Actual physics in a 3D space game? Well it's either going to be awesome, or suck incredibly.

A product that starts years after development of Duke Nukem Never Ever, gets cancelled, gets resumed and still releases before Duke Nukem Never Ever.

It's pretty sad because my immediate thought is:

'Oh look, another spoof about Duke releasing even though we know it never EVER EVER EVER will'

Suck it George.

Once again the software industry like the music industry assuming that every song 'stolen' or piece of software 'stolen equates to one sale lost.

Wow.

That's the kind of accounting practices that Enron used.

The true numbers (pulling out my my ear like they are) are probably close to 25 - 30% of the estimated losses.

The note at the beginning says it's a 5.7. The height of the climb is irrelevant as a factor, at a 5.7 difficulty any experienced climber who has climbed that route a dozen or so times should be able to whip up it no problem.

There's local climbs here in Calgary that are 5.7's, now they're only 30M but I can get up them in about 25 seconds or so.

Granted I'd still use a rope because falling to your death sucks but ...
