I enjoyed R6V just because it allowed me and my friends the chance to play cooperatively on the PC... something that is very hard to find these days. I missed the strong tactical experience that came with the earlier Rainbows, but I was able to enjoy it for what it was.

My only real issue with the game is the lack of options for the server. I hate when developers decide for the player that they have to play a certain way, i.e. "we're not even going to give you the OPTION to respawn in Terrorist Hunt mode". Sure, there's a rabid and vocal user base out there that demanded that they NOT give that option (which makes no sense to me), but why not give the option and let us CHOOSE which server types to play on?

They had me at "cooperative". My absolute favorite kind of game, and oh-so-rare these days. Hopefully it won't suffer from console port-itis since it looks like it's coming for PS3, 360 and PC.

I won't even play FPS games without co-op anymore. Well okay, Bioshock will likely be an exception.

Hooray! A place we as gamers have never been before! Oh wait...

Has anyone played this? I'm mostly interested in it because it uses the same engine as Silent Storm. I don't know anything about the story/movie.

Have they added OPTIONS to co-op games to turn off the bafflingly annoying "feature" where if your team leader dies, the game is over for everyone? How about options for respawns in co-op? Give me those options and I'll play it.

So will it be 3 hours of watching people do the same repetitive grind over and over, or watching 40 people on a raid? Featuring rogues that can't hide and the ultimate battle between good and evil... capture the flag!

All I can say is they better feature the line "Time's up. Let's do this." somewhere in the script.

We're still all playing Lineage, now we'll have to find time to fit another wonderful Korean MMO into our game schedules!

So, they're avoiding the endless levelling treadmill of other MMORPGs by not being an MMORPG?

The first thing that bothered me right off about this game was the movement. The developers apparantly thought just moving exactly where the player wanted wasn't good enough, so they decided to "enhance" movement by making it feel like you're on a frozen lake. Tap the key or move the slightest bit, and you'll end up sliding an additional foot. I just don't get that. Hopefully some console commands will come out soon and I can disable that crap.

After forcing myself to play despite that annoyance, I'm enjoying it so far, though I'm not very far into it.

I love this game, and can't wait for this expansion. It's rare that we can get everyone at work all playing one game, and this has been one that we've all enjoyed. Cooperative mode is a blast.

I wonder, do people just say this as a matter of course now?

I suppose you're right, Creston. I absolutely loved KOTOR and very much enjoyed Jedi Academy. I guess the games that came to my mind when I made that comment were the starfighter type games, and Galaxies, that really don't appeal to me. But then, I haven't actually played them so it would be hard for me to be genuinely disappointed.

I used to love EVERY LucasArt game that came out, up until they started outsourcing everything. After that happened the quality of the games was sometimes kind of a toss-up, and that bad impression stuck with me I guess.

I've been looking forward to this release (despite being disappointed with the slew of recent SW titles), and the screenshots on the official site are just making me giddy with excitement. I sure hope it's as good as the environments and variety of apparantly playable characters makes it appear.

Since the Xbox, PC, and PS2 are supposed to be able to play together, I wonder my Xbox will be able to play a LAN game with my two networked PCs...

Would you rather they use the nefarious StarForce protection on their software?

This certainly makes their game more accessible to people, and that's a good thing. Down with copy protection. It only hurts those that buy the software.

Because there is still a lot of people out there who don't have a DVD-Rom drive and if people can't play the game, they don't buy it

Come on, you can get a DVD drive for under $30 now. DVD Burners are under $100! The developers/publishers have no excuse now.

What's ironic is they have no problem releasing games that require $300 video cards to run well.

I thought so too. Slightly improved, but overall they look the same.

I just hope they got different artists this time around, or I hope they've at least improved. The armor and weapons in the first game looked like they were designed by a couple of 5th graders.
