I never understood the attraction to Rod Stewart. His voice is scratchy, his songs are lame, and he looks scuzzy.

I'm not a big fan either, but I do like some of his songs. 'Stay with Me' by Faces is probably my favorite (https://youtu.be/f514cAZucCg?si=5Pn7htQfMxirgwjw). I do like his voice though, and I think I would have been a fan if he was the singer in a bluesy rock band.

Blue, of course nobody cares if you take a day off - even if it was by mistake. Why shouldn't you be able to take vacations like everybody else?

The thing is though, you're so dependable and consistent that when you do miss a day... well, I should only speak for myself, but I was a little worried and hoping that everything was okay with you!

Next week will be 17 years for me at my present job and I've never even been late without a call, email, or text to explain why. If I were to accidentally be late by more than an hour, there would be someone from work, or the police, pounding on my front door.

I loves me an El Monterey beef and cheese burrito (or three)! Never in the microwave though. Crispy from the oven with melted cheese - and every bite dipped in a good southwestern style salsa.

Shit, if I don't have some in my freezer right now I'm going to be pissed!

I probably haven't worn a watch in over 20 years... but I want one of those!

Way, way back in the day, when I used to fish a lot, I had a waterproof Casio that could tell the temperature, and when I wanted to know the water temperature, I would simply clip it onto my fishing line and drop it into the water. And just like The Flying Penguin said, it worked great until the battery died and you had to break the seal to replace it.

I think brands realized it's past the hype phase, and you can't just say "AI" and get attention. Sure, there's the AI powered office chair and the bike with ChatGPT, but mostly, dumb use of AI isn't really super prevalent. Unlike, say, 5 years ago when dentures had Alexa.

Here's my early candidate for this year's Ridiculous AI Hype Award...

In the golfing world, this is the time of year when the big boys start trotting out their new $500-$600 drivers. So check this out, the name of Callaway's new driver, which is replacing last year's Paradym line is the "Callaway Paradym AI Smoke".

So stupid (and yes, I want one).

Congrats once again, Warpig. I was going to say, I missed picking several games this season but it wouldn't have made a difference with a solid 10 game lead on me. Oh well, at least I take home the silver this year!

Thank you, thank you. You're too kind. No... please, take your seats.
Yeah, I had quite the lucky year. I also joined the "Seahawks Fans" group that had over 4500 entrants and ended up winning that too!

Wow, lots of fewtball news today. The Titans fired Vrabel. The Jaguars are cleaning house. And it looks like Bellichick may finally be done in Beantown.

I wonder if Vrabel would be considered for the New England job if Belichick ends up leaving. Probably not, but Vrabel seems to be the only person associated with Belichick (as an ex-player) who's had any head coaching success. I've always found it weird how none of Belichick's assistant coaches have been able to have any success as a head coach.

I have always considered 'night mode' utter nonsense. I have burned the midnight oil staring at a computer monitor all my adult life, and it has never affected my quality of sleep.

For the last few years I fall asleep by firing up my old, super-slow Windows7 laptop, which stays in my bed, and playing solitaire or mahjong until I start dozing off, and it usually doesn't take much time. I've found that low-stress games like these take just enough brainpower to blank-out any stressful thoughts. I'd play Hearts, but for some reason I care if I win that game and it pisses me off when I don't .

But yeah, the whole "blue light" thing never was a problem.

I've had four cats in my life, starting at age 7 or so, and they've all been black (and the last one only had three legs). I'm not sure how pure Bombay they were, but they were all great cats. I have a couple friends who don't like cats at all, but they both ended up saying something along the lines of, "I still don't like cats, but I have to admit that your cat is pretty cool".

I going to guess some kind of overhead "rain forest shower head" or something like that which costs $500.

You got the type right. It's a ceiling mounted Kohler "Real Rain" shower head for $2259.60 - and it has one one-star review. There's also a run of the mill Kohler wall-mount for $2346 that I'm assuming is a typo.

If you guys want to see something amazing, look up shower heads on the Home Depot website and sort by price, high to low.

I replaced my shower head last year and found out after buying one that pretty much every one in stock at Home Depot was low-flow (1.5gph or less). My shower is a long way from the water heater, and it would take a good five minutes before the water got hot. Not to mention the time it would take before I felt, for instance, that the shampoo was fully rinsed out of my hair. I took about 2 showers like that before went back to the Home Depot website and discovered that if you scroll down far enough, you can filter the shower heads by flow rate. I ended up ordering a cheap ($12) shower head that did 2.5gph, which is more than enough. And it's not like I have the shower on at full flow during my showers, but it's nice to have some control.

And yes, I tried pulling out the flow regulator, but it must have been epoxied in.

I'd pretend to be excited, but you'd probably see through that. I root for the New York Knicks, whose last championship is now over 50 years ago.

Yeah, well I root for the Seattle Supersonics... so you're still probably more exited than me.

I think I prefer having a Sunday game with a 9:30 start over the evening game. By the time Sunday Night Football rolls around I'm usually ready to stop, as is MrsBlue (to say the least).

Kickoff time: That's got to be the only thing, but a big thing to me, why I'd rather live in the Pacific time zone, I don't know how you East coast people do it. Even the London game starting at 6:30am works for me.

Most of the time, when I catch a cold (which I have right now), I'll end up with a cough that lasts at least an extra month. It's usually not a "chest cough", but it's a tickle in the back of my throat that lingers for an annoying amount of time.

You guys need to get stylish, like me .... nothing but cargo shorts and pants. Wallet on the right side, phone on the left. Keys (and small knife) go in a front pocket, hanky in the rear.
