Hey nin, I finally got around to reading yesterday's OOTB and I just wanted to add my condolences. Losing a pet is always tough.

Pair of sidecutters.

Snip.

Done.

Well, hopefully the doctor would know whether to use the sidecutters on the hook or the lip. Of course he could charge more for a lower lip amputation.

"Sorry, son but you'll never say "mama" again. Here, until medical science catches up and they make a decent prosthetic lip, wear this headband really low on your head."

Bonds finally pulled his 'roids swollen noggin out of his ass long enough to hit number 756. Now that it's over, please Barry, just retire and go away.

Talk about unsportsmanlike conduct.

Yeah, that's pretty cheap - although I'd be a hypocrite to say much more than that. For years I played in an eight on eight flag football league and we had one play kind of like that. If we had the ball first after halftime (there wasn't a kickoff) we'd huddle up seven guys and have one standing just on the field trying to blend in with the guys on the sideline. If the other team didn't notice it was usually an easy score.

Simply an amazing artist.

Yes, very much so. Most people don't realize the level of artistry that is needed to produce today's video games. R.I.P. Mr. Angus.

Take me across the water
‘Cause I need some place to hide
I done the rancher’s daughter
And I sure did hurt his pride

Well, there's a
Hundred miles of desert
Lies between his hide and mine
I don't need no food
And no water, Lord
‘Cos I'm running out of time

Fightin', killin', wine and women
Gonna put me to my grave
Runnin', hidin', losin', cryin'
Nothing left to save but my life

Stood on a ridge
And shunned religion
Thinking the world was mine
I made my break and a big mistake
Stealin', when I
Should've been buyin'

Anyone who believes that has never owned a cat.

It's also hard to believe that nobody at "New Scientist Tech" has ever seen Jaws: The Revenge.

The motorcycle was 3/4 full. If I had ran out of gas, I could have easily taken it for help.

Heh, as I was reading your story I thought you were going to say that you took the bike off the trailer and followed your wife into town. Either way, glad you made it, getting stuck up there in 100 degree weather with traffic whizzing by at 75mph wouldn't have been fun at all.

Btw, what you were climbing are called the Horse Heaven Hills and yes, they are steep. They get really nasty in the winter too.

Was I the only person who glanced at today's R.I.P. and thought that Larry Bird had died?

Goddamn I love that trailer. I've watched it like 3 times now...

Wow, that was pretty cool. Has kind of a big budget "Blair Witch" feel to it. I know a lot of people didn't like the Blair Witch movie, but try to remember how well it was built up through trailers like this where nobody really knew what to expect.

As opposed to now, when we pay tableside.

Yeah, but that's the problem. Where else do you have to physically give up your credit card these days? A whole lot of credit card fraud happens at restaurants. I'd much rather swipe it myself. As a matter of fact, I wish credit cards had PIN numbers like debit cards.

12. WTF? Jun 22, 2007, 00:15 WarPig

Over the last year or so the spam reaching my inbox has been probably less than 20 pieces a day and most of that gets filtered straight to the delete folder, but today I got almost 1400 messages. 99% of these messages are replies from other anti-spam programs because the spammer is sending the crap out to other people using my domain name. While that part is normal I'm sure hoping that this is just an aberration.

Ya know how great it is to find a $20 bill in a coat you hadn't worn in a long time? Well today our bookkeeper was reconciling the books and told me that according to the bank I hadn't cashed my paycheck from April 5th! This was the last check I received before getting direct deposit set up. Sure enough, I found that sucker sitting right where it should have been.

Sure it's embarrassing but the embarrassment is easily offset by the feeling of found money - and it's a two week paycheck.

Hey 'Pig - - got me a new motorcycle - - a Suzuki M50.

Very cool!

I've also had the thought of a motorcycle dancing around the back of my brain, and every time I fill up the car with gas the thought gets clearer and clearer. Maybe I'll get one with a sidecar - for the golf clubs of course.

1. Hudson the killer Jun 9, 2007, 20:47 WarPig

Yeah, terriers and small animals definitively don't mix. As you probably already know Blue, killing varmints is what they were bred to do.

When I was a teen my mom found a baby sparrow that had fallen from its nest and began nursing it to health. All was going well when one day it jumped out of its box right in front of Snuffy, our very old and mostly blind little terrier mix mutt who tore that little bird into Sparrow McNuggets in a three second flash of viciousness that was quite shocking (and kind of cool). The thing I'll always remember was how Snuffy instantly went back to her sweet self as soon as the deed was done, either like it never happened or as if she was ready for her reward for being so good.

Sometimes a friend and I would take Snuffy with us when we went out into the desert to ride our mini-bikes. I would simply find a gopher hole and let the dog go to town. Once she got a whiff of gopher poon-tang she would begin to dig and we would ride around for awhile and not have to worry about her. We'd come back and find a big hole with dirt still flying out of it. She never got anything (I don't think, anyway) but she loved the hunt. Good times, she was such a cool little dog... I haven't thought about that for years.

1. Lidsville... May 29, 2007, 22:09 WarPig

... yet another LSD fueled fever dream of a show from the minds of Sid and Marty Krofft!

Even though I was in the prime demographic for Lidsville I don't remember really being into the show. I do remember watching a lot of H.R. Pufnstuff though. You have to realize that back then we only had a few channels to choose from and any cartoons or kids programming of any kind was quite a treat for us. Coming across an actual Bugs Bunny or Woody Woodpecker cartoon was pure heaven.
