I will find a way, and that way will be buying it on sale for $5 in 5 years. Here Randy, you can have my 'real fan' card back.

I can still remember my first couple days with Quake as I adjusted from the keyboard only controls of Doom to this new "mouse and keyboard" crap. I remember the first time I automatically looked up at an enemy way above me and nailed him with the nade launcher. I was hooked. Little did I know what all that was going to lead to!

Why does Uber get to decide the police have to fill out a form to investigate a potential kidnapping? Sounds like accessory or at least obstruction to me.

Everyone involved in this at Uber should be in court facing charges. They stole her kid for 90 minutes. And gave a $10 credit. It's obscene.

Yeah I was not happy with this 'journalist' simping for Nvidia, either. I was enjoying the article right up until that line.

We're all just going to ignore the fact that they used 'camel toe' as a 'sounds like' example? Alrighty then.

You can virtually eliminate DNS propagation issues by setting your A record TTL values to a low number, like 60, prior to the migration. That would cause anyone caching the entry to only hold it for 1 minute.

Then once you've changed the IP address in DNS, you can put the TTL back to the usual value.

I've changed a lot of internet facing DNS records for customers over my career and this is how you do it to minimize disruption if you don't have load balancers. The impact on DNS servers with the increased load is negligible if you're only changing a couple records.

If you're still using Amazon after years and years of warnings about how awful they are, you get what you deserve. They are a terrible company and nobody should be giving them money.

Who gives a shit? Both of their games were janky and repetitive and FUN AS HELL for some reason. They've got the secret sauce. And that's all that really matters. I'm really looking forward to the 3rd one.

You guys didn't miss much. It's a glorified box of legos. I went deep into the SE rabbit hole with mods and programming control systems, built a giant mothership with a interior docked shuttle that could also warp, giant 200+ drill head ships to strip mine planets, all kinds of stuff.

Problem is at the end of the day there's nothing to DO with all that. Fighting the AI is both trivially easy and boring as hell, plus it just makes you have to do boring repair work on your ships. So unless you feel like doing that loop, once you've built your toys, you're done.

lol no. The Medal of Honor is for great valor in combat, and only for active duty military. There is no 'Congressional' in front of it, either.

The medal they want to give this guy is the Congressional Gold Medal, and it's for civilians. Totally different thing.

I just fail to understand why the populace is so seemingly complacent there.

Basically because people are too comfortable. The corporatocracy has to turn the screws a bit more before we see enough people get angry enough to make a difference.
